Yes the 10 commandments, Jesus said it so many times to keep the commandments in so many verses;

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

and more....

Here are the 10 commandments;

The Ten Commandments

Deu 5:6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Deu 5:7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
Deu 5:8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, orany likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
Deu 5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
Deu 5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
Deu 5:11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Deu 5:12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
Deu 5:13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
Deu 5:14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
Deu 5:15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
Deu 5:16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Deu 5:17 Thou shalt not kill.
Deu 5:18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
Deu 5:19 Neither shalt thou steal.
Deu 5:20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Deu 5:21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.
So, if I am following your line of argumentation, a genuine Christian is one who perfectly follows the ten commandments, and those who do not do so are not Christians?

If I have summarized your position correctly, I have only one thing to say: You have much to learn.

A genuine Christian is a person who has put their faith in Jesus Christ for remission of sin and eternal life.

As another poster noted, whether that person is a mature Christian is a completely separate question. Also, whether that person lives in a way consistent with that belief is a separate question.

I hate that erroneous acronym. I throw up a little each time I hear it.
The Bible is not an instruction book. It is the Biography of Jesus and his works and interaction with His creation.

The Bible is BOTH an instruction book and a revelation of Christ. So there's no need to create a false narrative.

Many of you here who think the commandments are null and void do not follow the teachings of Christ. i did not say these Words about the commandments, Yeshua the son of GOD did! Somehow, they displease some of you greatly! How could you disagree with Yeshua, the son of GOD!

Definition of christian : one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

I push the words of Jesus about the commandments because many here have forgotten or will not listen because it is not an easy task. Did not Christ say it was a narrow path? No one ever said it was easy. Do I fail sometimes Yes! but I will always keep trying to do my best to obey Jesus.

Peace,

JF
"Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?" Galatians 3:3

Friend, There are many bible verses about not judging others, but I will not throw them at you, not to condemn you.

Galatians 3:3 is a scripture passage. About the very subject discussed in this thread. If you took it personal then you should evaluate the things you have said in this thread.
You can not finish, maintain, or advance what was startes in the spirit by works of the flesh.

As a believer in Christ, I would expect and certainly hope, that people avail themselves of all the Bible contains

Give us this day our daily bread, besides the physical application, is a metaphor for partaking of Jesus daily...He called Himself the bread of life. And where do we find these things? In the Bible.

We have all the instructional/correctional letters of Paul to mention but a little of what is in the Bible and applicable to believers

Jesus summed up all the commandments very concisely. The 10 commandments cannot be kept or Jesus would not have had to die.

What do the 10 commandments actually describe?

Actually, the common error is to say exactly what you said. So, the many are actually correct.

There are many bible verses about not judging others,
There are many verses about judging correctly so as not to be deceived. It is a fallacy to state we do not judge. We do not judge the hearts of people but we certainly should take heed of how they live and if their testimony is true. Many are deceived because they do not do this. Live and let live is not in scripture

Christian Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster
https://www.merriam-webster.com › dictionary › Christi...

Kids Definition of Christian ; 1 · a person who believes in Jesus Christ and follows his teachings ; 2 · a member of a Christian church.

That is not at all what a Christian is. You copied that definition from the Merriam Webster dictionary (as per the link you accidentally inserted.)

Why would you have to look up what a Christian is by going to a dictionary?

Do you know what the Bible states we must believe in order to be an actual Christian? It is not following commandments.

a genuine Christian learns and grows to walk out His command-
"Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. "

There is only one definition for Christian and it is not what we do, it is what we believe. Everything else is based on that one thing.

12If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? 13No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven—the Son of Man. 14Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.

16For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

18Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

19And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever practices the truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.”

That is the definition given by Christ Himself and we do not have to add to it or put stipulations on it.

If you want to know what a Christian is, then that would be your your answer.

What a Christian does, is a different topic. :)

Have it your way Polar, we all have free will, you seem to prefer paul's own gospel, I prefer the Gospel of Jesus.
