Just Finished Romans. It's a wonderful book describing the fullness of God's grace for those who believe in Jesus. However, the sentence, "all Israel will be saved" (11.26) always leaves me puzzled. Are Jews saved though they do not have faith in Jesus? I don't want to derail the thread; just a quick answer or two. Any more than that and perhaps it would need its own thread.

Well, it's JMO but I think ANYONE is/can be saved, even without faith in Jesus. Especially since Jesus said, whosoever BELIEVES on me shall be saved. :) jmo

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 kjv

What I learned about this was to focus on the word "Beginning". Fear is only the beginning of wisdom....not the brunt of it.

Okay, so this one has special meaning for me. I found it in one of my Angels On Earth magazines after I had Tequila put to sleep. :) The verse is Luke 1:37, and the picture has what else, an orange cat in it, pointing to the verse.

Luke 1:37 says "For with God nothing shall be impossible." To me, that is Tequila's (and God's) way of telling me that as long as I have God, nothing will be impossible for me to overcome. :) That the sadness and grief I feel right now, and will feel again and again as my family members die off, will not last forever. And that as long as I have God, nothing shall be impossible for me to bear. :)

This verse spoke to me while I was weaning myself off prescribed pain medications. I knew that with /in God....I could overcome anything...

It is a prophetic reference to when Christ returns to the earth and all of Israel, those who survived the great tribulation, will see Messiah descend from the clouds and they will turn to Him and be saved as it were in a day. Isaiah 66:8

Thank you for these verses! I am preparing a sermon, for which I was given a topic, not a passage. Part of it is on wisdom. But I left out the part about Christ Jesus being wisdom, and that fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I will add this to my meditation!

We had a lively discussion on the armor of God just last night. It was in reference to fighting battles. The main takeaway from it was that each piece of Armor ties back to Jesus and titles of Him, and aspects He has.
Very cool, PennEd. It doesn't surprise me that everything ties back to Jesus. He is seen throughout Scripture … from Genesis (beginning) to Revelation (end). He is Alpha and Omega … Author and Finisher of faith.

Right. And when we look at how few people have any reverence/respect/fear of the Lord, we understand why there is so much foolishness in our day and time.

I love the Proverbs and I believe Proverbs should be taught to our youngsters in school. But the Bible/prayer has been removed from our school rooms and foolishness prevails. :(

We are just like that great cloud of witnesses in Hebrews 11 ... those who confessed they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth (Heb 11:13), looking for that better, heavenly abode prepared for us by God Almighty (Heb 11:16).

I think the OP was specifically about what we are hearing from God in our daily Bible reading. God has used daily Bible reading more than anything in my life. That is where I discovered the verses that are the foundation of my theology, the verses of hope and encouragement, the passages which show me the areas God is working on in my life.

In Seminary, they used to tell us that they are not going to tell us what to believe. We needed to search out what the Word says to us. We did learn about all the different kinds of theology, including heresies, but we were never told what to believe. All our papers were research and studies about the things God was saying to us, at least in Theology. I think that is so important!

Well, there is the question "who moved?" Or, sometimes God really is just silent. I am not sure why, I just know it is talked about continually and St. John of the Cross even wrote a book called "The Dark Night of the Soul" about feeling like you are in a desert wilderness and God has gone elsewhere.

I went through that back in the early 2000's. Part of it was being so terribly ill and in pain, and the condemnation I had received from two of my friends because I "lacked faith" and wasn't healed. But even though I turned away from God, he did not ever turn away from me. I knew he was standing just behind me, waiting for me. He finally started telling me to read the Psalms. It took a while, but I finally did, and that is when I heard the stories of pain, suffering, and trusting God through it all. I realized we live in a fallen world, and God understands the pain and disease have come out of that.

Before that, I had been living a lie - pretending everything was ok, when it wasn't - for me! And for many of the people who wrote the Psalms. I always loved that verse:

"I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint;
my heart is like wax;
it is melted within my breast;" Psalm 22:14

Now, I have no idea if this was referring to Rheumatoid Arthritis, but it was just nice to hear someone say that the bones were "out of joint." Of course, this is a Messianic Psalm, and it really was talking about Jesus death on the cross, but God allowed me to find some meaning through that verse. Then a few chapters later, he gave me another verse about bones, but finished it off with praise!

"As with a deadly wound in my bones,
my adversaries taunt me,
while they say to me all the day long,
“Where is your God?” Psalm 42:10 ESV

"
Why am I so depressed?
Why this turmoil within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him,
my Savior and my God." Psalm 42:11 HCSB

Anyway, I just wanted to mention again, how important it is to be consistent in reading the Bible. The time I was not hearing from God was the time I refused to read the Bible, it was the only time in my Christian walk. I know it is very hard when prayers seem to bounce off the roof and come right back at you, but the Bible is clear we have to persistent in our walk with God.

"
Now we want each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the final realization of your hope, 12 so that you won’t become lazy but will be imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance." Hebrews 6:11-12

"
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope." Romans 5:3-4

today we were blessed to be partakers in upholding very special people who are being
assaulted by satan, in many bizarre and unkind ways...

grief is always present when we are to be witnesses of these things, but we always Trust
our Heavenly Father, that He is going to resolve these problems in the only way He can,
and that is in His Righteousness, no matter how much power this evil world seems to have...

Most post wasn't directly to anyone personally...

Well, there is the question "who moved?"
Wasn't it 'Why asked' 'Who said' and 'what moved', not 'who moved."? That's abbout an canst tell oh.
Or, sometimes God really is just silent.
I am not sure why, I just know it is talked about continually and St. John of the Cross even wrote a book called "The Dark Night of the Soul" about feeling like you are in a desert wilderness and God has gone elsewhere.
Sounds like Zech 2:13
I went through that back in the early 2000's. Part of it was being so terribly ill and in pain, and the condemnation I had received from two of my friends because I "lacked faith" and wasn't healed.
See I totally disagree with that reason, but at least they didn't say it wasn't possible for God to heal you.
But even though I turned away from God,
LOL, I'll bite. So what direction did you turn from His omnipresence?.
He finally started telling me to read the Psalms.
Did he mentioned anything about seeing which one filled up first?

So to answer your question posed by the title of your thread, it is possible for Biden to be Constitutionally certified as President-elect.

Someone shared this with me today. It made the, verses about how creation, testify to God's love and design more evident and I found joy in watching people become believers. I hope and pray they find a Bible based church to mentor and equip them against the lies the world will use to turn them away from God and His ways.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (Revelations 3:5 KJV)

I was thinking a lot about this verse today and it's implications.

What it says is that we can be blotted out of the book of life even if our name is already there.

Haha I saw that yesterday and shared on my Facebook and made mention of it just recently on this very site :) Praise the Lord for providing an avenue for unbelievers to face the inner motives in which they suppress God! I pray this ministry touch the hearts which are yours Lord and give thanks of your promise that not one your lambs shall be snatched out of your hands!

I watched this 2 days ago. I never watch a video that is an hour long, but this one kept me spell bound. Between the amazing videos and pictures, and the way Ray Comfort walked these atheists through to accepting Christ make it an outstanding video!

I agree...I have watched it too. Ray also has a great video on abortion that is along the same lines as this.
