And this all applies to his sheep that hear his voice (John 10:26-29).
Exactly right and this is how he finds them and how they choose him and
who is meant to hear it and to whom it applies
“And
he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
Mark 16:15-16 KJV
And then they who believe the gospel hear this and begin to learn from God being raised by the father
“It is written in the prophets, And
they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father,
cometh unto me.”
John 6:45 KJV
They learn first as babes being called forth as his children reborn and forgiven now it’s time we learn to walk and so the father teaches the babes
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
We believe the many things he himself says like this about all who believe in him will Be saved and it’s all true
And then we age a bit and he teaches the toddlers a lesson because they are growing up and need food so we grow in understanding because we believe the gospel and seek and abide in his word to learn ( we “ Christians “are disciples )
“Jesus answered and said unto them,
This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
John 6:29 KJV
We grow from that type of statement , to this because we hear it and become able to hear more
“Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that heareth my word, and
believeth on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24 KJV
This then leads us to start looking at what he was saying and teaching
because we believe in him
and then his teachings make us grow up and mature over time and application
It’s when and where we learn bout being his children so we can start to believe it
“And call no man your father upon the earth: for
one is your Father, which is in heaven.”
Matthew 23:9 KJV
“Fear not, little flock; for
it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
Luke 12:32 KJV
“But
love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and
ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Be ye therefore merciful, as
your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For
with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
( them these kinds of statements by Jesus make us grow and challenge us ) And
why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
Luke 6:35-38, 46 KJV
When we hear
Jesus say things like that as
believers it forces us to think about what he’s saying “ if he’s my lord , it means I’m supposed to be doing what he’s telling me I should do ? “ this changes us internally and is part of the call to repentance
he doesn’t say “ obey me now or die “ he is teaching believers by faith as they hear and abide the gospel speaking in parables and statements , questions to the hearers and believers examples and lesson stories we learn from over time when we start to grow better ears
he’s gentle and forebearing with us , patient and forgiving he wants us to live and not die because he’s our Father and loves us but we’re still free so he doesn’t force us
He just makes the way and says come home follow me
“
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am
meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall
find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
He teaches us like small children at first to believe in and trust in Jesus then he begins to teach us to learn from his word in the gospel , then Tells us we need to start doing what we’re learning and applying it to life , then he warns us about sin and teaches us to repent and have remission of sins so we can have a relationship with him eventually we become grown ups and can eat solid food and hear the teachings about righteousness in the gospel it’s a process of faith
“So then
faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by
the word of God.”
Romans 10:17 KJV
faith grows from a seed and needs to go through a maturation process
“For I am not ashamed of
the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the
Jew first, and
also to the Greek.
For
therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written,
The just shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:16-17 KJV
That’s why Jesus says “ just come to me and learn from me I’ll teach you about the father” he’s creating children by faith in the gospel. So he says things like this
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will
your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:9-15 KJV
Who would Know better about the father and his children than
the son ?
He teaches us how to live and treat each other even when someone doesn’t treat us right. He teaches us what love truly is and to care for each other as brothers and sisters.
He’s a father teaching his children in the perfect example of the son , Who is the lord of all Man and all
Heaven and has offered salvstion to every creature
