Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

The commandments of men are carnal. Resting on saturdays. Not eating bacon or ham, etc.

The Commandments of God are Spiritual and are Everlasting.

Not moral, as if you could be morally equal with God. Spiritual, as in you have no power to keep or do them unless you are given this power directly from The Lord Jesus Christ. And the whole key on receiving anything from Christ is faith.

This is Christianity pre-school. If you don't have a grasp on this most basic christian concept you need to scrap everything you think you know and start over. As a child.

I could help you a lot if you had questions. But so far I just de-bunk vain silliness.

uh, sir, resting on Shabbat and not eating pork are God's commandments.
Why would you even say they are commandments of men?
if you will read that whole chapter, you will see this.
(if I remember correctly, the words in red are kinda important)
And honour not his father or his mother,
[he shall be free].
Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

My words are spirit and they are Life.

What does the spirit have to do with resting on saturdays and not eating bacon??????????????

How does resting on saturdays and abstaining from pork chops bring us to Christ?

Well it doesn't. Anyone can perform a carnal commandment. What you need help with are the spiritual ones.

Ezekiel 20:11"I gave them My statutes and informed them of My ordinances, by which, if a man observes them, he will live. 12"Also I gave them My sabbaths to be a signbetween Me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them. 13"But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not walk in My statutes and they rejected My ordinances, by which, if a man observes them, he will live; and My sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I resolved to pour out My wrath on them in the wilderness, to annihilate them.…

Ezekiel 20:20

Ezekiel 44:24
"In a dispute they shall take their stand to judge; they shall judge it according to My ordinances. They shall also keep My laws and My statutes in all My appointed feasts and sanctify My sabbaths.

Many people, however, think that Paul, the other apostles and the early Church changed the Sabbath day. But what does the record of the New Testament really say?“Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good” (Romans 7:12).
We have seen that Jesus Christ did not change God’s Sabbath day. On the contrary, throughout His ministry He showed the true purpose and intent of the Sabbath. Jesus often showed that the Sabbath, and particularly His teachings and actions on that day, prefigured the coming messianic age—the time of the Kingdom of God—as one of healing, freedom and restoration for all humanity.
Jesus was a Sabbath-keeper. At the time of His death, His closest followers clearly observed the Sabbath, waiting until it was past to prepare His body for burial (Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:1-2; Luke 23:56; Luke 24:1). Fifty days from Christ’s resurrection, many gathered for the Day of Pentecost, one of God’s seven annual Sabbaths or feasts observed in addition to the weekly Sabbath (Leviticus 23), and it was on that day that the New Testament Church was founded by the coming of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4).
The Bible shows no evidence of any change at Christ’s death and resurrection concerning God’s Sabbaths. We see only a continuation of Christ’s followers observing them just as He had done—despite the assertions of some to the contrary.

How does resting on saturdays and abstaining from pork chops bring us to Christ?

It obviously hasn't brought these two to Christ.

Instead, for His own purpose the Lord has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts. For months people have preached Christ to them, and for months they have publicly rejected Him and preached Judaism here.

It doesn't matter how many copies of the epistle to the Galatians anyone sends them. Until God Himself takes away the veil, they will not see. They are a sign for us, to know that the Lord has saved us too from such deception only by His mercy.

How many lies would any of us believe, if God Had not opened our minds to receive His truth?
Thank God that He has given you eyes to see, and pray that He shows mercy to those who cannot see.

For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.
But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere:
“He has blinded their eyes
and hardened their hearts,
so they can neither see with their eyes,
nor understand with their hearts,
nor turn — and I would heal them.”

(John 12:39-40)

Remember, John is talking about a people who kept all of the Torah. A people - the Pharisees - who kept all of the Torah a thousand times more perfectly than our resident Judaizers,
jcha and mike, ever do, or ever will.
But these people were blind and deaf -- covered by a veil on their hearts
And
jcha & mike, they want you to believe that they see, where those who kept the Torah so much more perfectly than these two do, did not see?
It is the same veil that covers their hearts, and the same blindness, and deafness. It is the work of God, to fulfill the sure word of prophecy, and yes, so is the falling away, whereby others pretend to love Him, but walk in darkness. Let us neither walk in the darkness of wicked deeds, nor the darkness of ignorance! Because we ought to know the hour: that the night is ending, and the day will soon break, as even now the morning-star shines before us, rising up in our hearts!

We who are spiritual should pray for these people who are carnal, that they may turn to Him, and that God may show them mercy and open their eyes to the light of His glory!

Before the Exodus, there was no Torah. But there was sin (all the way back to Adam).

The Law (big L) came with the Sinatic covenant (ca. 1450 BC) between God and......Israel. Not between God and all humanity, but between God and ISRAEL. The Sinatic covenant was not a command by God to the whole world. It was a contract, entered willingly after the terms were heard and understood by all Hebrews, between God and Israel.

Yet YHWH is the God of the whole world, not just Israel. Why did He not impose the same Law on everyone? What about non-Hebrews in 1450 BC?

They were (remarkably for the time) welcome to join Israel, i.e. to also observe the Law (big L) and become part of Israel.

The Law (Torah) is not abrogated or negated even to this day. It contains many covenants which are called "lasting covenants"--valid forever. This is the word of God. Forever means forever. It doesn't mean "forever for now" or "not forever anymore". However...

1. Mosaic Law applies to Israel, not humanity, and
2. The Law is completed in Christ. In Christ, we are dead to the Law and live in Him. His work is complete and perfect for salvation for all humanity. So what about Israel? Hebrews are more than welcome to join the body of Christ, just as foreigners were welcome to join Israel and follow the Law after the Exodus.

At no point in history was following Mosaic Law ever mandatory for gentiles.

Israel is Israel and the Church is the Church. Both are important to God.

The old testament isn't really going to come right out and tell you directly about Christ and what He has done for us. He's there for sure. But He's hidden from sight to those who don't wish to acknowledge Him.

The New Testament tells directly about Christ and what He has done. I really suggest spending more time there.

Convert is probably a better term here.

Revert implies going back to a previous condition.

If you see the Lord with your eyes, hear Him with your ears and understand Him with your heart there is no going back to some previous condition.

Ephesians 2:15

"by setting aside in His flesh the Law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in Himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace"
wrong. you see why people change Scripture?
you left out a very important word that completely reverses the quote.
He didn't abolish the law. He abolished the enmity.

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace;
