What a precious gift our savour has granted us, The indwelling Spirit. The power of God in us giving us victory.

First the Spirit is gained by simply asking:

Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

God longs to bless us with his Spirit. So faith is the way to get the Spirit.

But the work of the Spirit is to sanctify us as it is written:

1Co 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1Co 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

In the name of Jesus our Lord the Spirit washes us and sanctifies us and justifies us. Washing away the dirt of sin.

The spirit changes us as it is written:

2Co_3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

We become like Jesus the Glory of Gods character is made in us by the Spirit.

It is the Spirit that brings strength into us and Christ dwells in us as it is written:

Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Eph 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

I love that, He can do way more than we can ask or imagine. Why should we lack faith in our Gods ability to transform us with such promises?

Nothing further needs to be said or considered.

The will of God which must be done.

So we have to ask everyday to be given the HS, or we will not be granted eternal life?

Thank you so much my friend, so many here are gifted to articulate so beautifully the Truth.

The feeling of being Baptized with the Holy Spirit is What I call Amazing Grace where the blind and lost can see and are found by their Good Shepherd..

It was Grace that taught my heart to fear and Grace my fears relieved.. how precious indeed the hour I first believed.

Now for most of my life this song I would love but did not perceive... only after Being born again did I come to perceive the words...

By GOD's Grace I'm new inwardly and the love shown fills me with such hope and comfort.. and I'm being lead home from within... which is Christ within.

Why is it you all can not give a direct answer. Like this yes and no question, where you still could have said what you said, But a yes or no would have solved all the questions I asked.

We do this because we are saved.... it is not a ritual to remain saved...but goodness for our Spirit daily like the Lord teaches.

I read your words and saw myself also. I have believed for many years but I did not understand. But now as you have testified I have seen and touched and do bear witness to the power of Christ within us. praise the Lord He is good.

I have considered much.. 1: we are sharing openly and nothing shared is without good honest intent.

2: Read what I shared the answer is there.

3: I did consider the matter and feel that ticking yes or no is not always sufficient and explanations and insight is good. And as much as you are presumptious and demand a yes or no.. much more develops when we question one and other.. it is usually the way you do it that I find the issue.. you will read something and then add to it because that is what you took from it even if it was not written.. which i have to come to love and accept you as you are..

so will this same powers keep you saved, r can salvation be lost if we do not work? (This s an obedience/works salvation thread, so they are logical questions considering the op!)

If your saved by grace through faith, not works, like you just said, works do not enter the equation.

Now if we are talking about how a person who is already saved, then that is a different question altogether, and should we not leave that to threads concerning Christian growth?
