My guess is he would have had a parable because his disciples wouldn't understand how wonderful it is that all life is connected. They would have scoffed at the idea that they are related to monkeys; I suppose Jesus would have said something like "Truly truly I tell you..."

He might just say, "Through Me all things were created. Those who choose to beleive that, come and follow Me. I suppose the rest of you who want an empirical answer beyond that will just have to try to keep figuring it out." But don't quote me on that!
All though, I don't know if he will have a "Meet with the Press" when he returns. The Bible makes it sound like He will be pretty busy doing other things.

food for thought.....if we were created in God's image and likeness as He Himself told us.....then for evolution to be true our God would be more apelike than manlike and we would have devolved away from Him.

I see it this way: If we had been created in God's image, we would all be invisible.

Edit: Or we would be made of fire, light, or our bodies would be larger than the universe. Or we would be able to communicate telepathically, or hear the cries of our children from anywhere in the world. At least we would be able to talk to animals.

Actually, it would be more ameba like. That would make God one powerful ameba like being. hmmm... Not buying it.

There's nothing to buy here, unless your trying to sell something yourself.

I frankly don't think Jesus would waste His time even addressing it.

I think He would have sat the Disciples down and said "Truly I say unto you as it is written, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, so you were made by The Father through me.

ah now I see, so you don't believe what is written in Genesis:

Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Gen 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

what makes you think that that is a lie?

I will attempt to answer for jmlidea.

It is not a lie, but a peotic metaphor for creation so as to not confuse a community of people that new little to nothing of science.

It doesn't have to be a lie for evolution to work... humans can still be created in God's image even if we have evolved.

And for the record, bacteria has dominion over man; in fact the smaller the organism, the more dominion over man the life form has. Humans are weak. One sting from a wasp can kill. One virus can eradicate thousands of people, easily. A cut or a bruise can claim a person's life if they don't treat it immediately.

Now I'll let you counter with the argument that things are the way they are because of original sin.

I don't think Jesus would have said anything about evolution.

I think he would have just laughed and shook his head in bewilderment...
kind of like I do.
: )

And for all the people who disagree.
It's not like disagreement around here surprises anyone.
So let the disagreement commence, lol.

Since Jesus was the "second Adam" there had to be a literal "first Adam."

"Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. [SUP]46 [/SUP]But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. [SUP]47 [/SUP]The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. [SUP]48 [/SUP]As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.[SUP]49 [/SUP]Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven." 1 Cor. 15: 25-49

"
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— [SUP]13 [/SUP]for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. [SUP]14 [/SUP]Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.[SUP]15 [/SUP]But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many." Romans 5:12-15

I do not think Jesus would sit around talking about irreducible complexity or the specificity of the earth to support complex. I do believe he would just say he created it all.

Oh, I really like this part - I had never really seen it before, meaning it never stood out in quite the same way!

"Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.

Yes but we can wipe out billions of bacteria with the wave of our hand, and bees make honey for us ^_^
and some of the worst viruses are man made.
