But yet you see nothing wrong with believing and teaching only Mary could keep Jesus free from sin.

If God has the power to keep Mary Holy and Blameless then God DID have the power to keep Jesus Holy and Blameless!

Therefore God never needed Mary to be Holy and Blameless. Its the Catholics who worship Mary that demand Mary HAD to be Holy and Blameless.

Its blasphemy to teach Mary had to be Holy and Blameless! Its blasphemy to teach God could not keep Jesus Holy and Blameless without the help of Mary!

This is how the Catholics have declared Mary to be a god!

God will judge you for your false teachings. Beware Nikki84, you are not fighting me, you are actually fighting against the Holy Spirit.

For the record before I say anything else, I do think there are born again Christians and spirit
filled Christians in the Catholic Church. There has been spiritual revival going on in my city
for the past 10 years with lots of new churches springing up. The various existing denominations
are also coming alive, including some of the Catholic Churches. There is one not far from
where I live which is displaying all the gifts of the holy spirit, as an example.

That being said the more revival is showing up, the more these churches are turning to Jesus and
preaching the gospel, including the Catholic Churches I mentioned and moving away from the
revering of Mary.

There are many amaxing people in the bible who were used mightily by God and obeyed (although not
always 100%) and carried out the work God had for them. To name a few Abraham, Joseph, Ester,
Daniel, Isaiah, Mary, Joseph, Paul, John etc

But none are worthy of our reverent praise. That honour belongs to God.

Revelation 4:8 NKJV
[8] The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within.
And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was
and is and is to come!"

All people have sinned and fallen short, all need a Saviour that includes all the mighty men
and women of the bible. I agree though that it is disrespectful to call out any of these
amazing men and women as we will meet them one day in heaven for these who are
born again. I think though that the difficulty we see with the Catholic Church is that
they often divert attention from the saving grace of Jesus and the need for salvation
via their unmerited adoration of Mary.

Well that use to be the case, as I say in my city the Catholic Churches are waking up
to Jesus and the balance is changing, when the Holy Spirit moved eyes are opened to
the truth.

Thanks for your response and clarification. The Catholic Church is spirit filled and in every way. Of course, in any faith, a "revival" is a beautiful thing. "Born again" comes from John 3 and means baptism. This sometimes is confused with just believing and having faith. Though that is a new age belief and not what scripture states. One thing needs to be clear, Mary is important in Christianity, though has NOTHING near Christ or God. I promise we don't spend as much time praying to Mary and the other saints as much a protestants think we do, ha. Rev 4:8 is called the "Sanctus" and is actually an important key component to the climax of mass before communion. You are right, we all need/needed a savior. I see your point of view qith the "diversion," though it's only because Christ taught through Paul to spread the ways about using every component to the church as in 1 Cor 12:12-27. Rev 5 also shows the saints have intercessory prayers.

To worship Mary is blasphemy ! Any Catholic knows this. You sir are the deceiver trying to say Mary is worshipped as God. That is ridiculous
Hi nikki, nice to meet you!
I have an interest in this because my sister has started going to church for the first time in her life. I didn't even know until one day when we were working in the yard at moms house and I saw some odd thing on her back, through her shirt. She explained to me it was a...brown scapular? She said it insures if you die suddenly that you will go to heaven. And whenever she comes to moms to visit, she puts fliers around and magnets on the fridge that are prayers they pray to Mary.

Could you help me with why these prayers are made to Mary? It is confusing to me because I only pray to who I worship. So I wonder if you could talk about why they are taught these prayers? Thank you!

The problem is even if you only spend even 1 second a lifetime Praying to Mary is a Mortal Sin!

By praying to Mary even for 1 second makes Mary your god!

Repent ONELORDONEFAITHONEBAPTISM , accept Jesus only as your Lord and Savior before its too late and you spend Eternity with your mary in the Lake of Fire.

As a Christian who was raised catholic I must say there are many false statements on this thread. Catholics do not worship mary. Catholics believe in Jesus. The idea of needing a priest as a mediator is what initially put me off. I do think it's sad when people group a whole style of worship together. That is like saying all baptists are like the westboro baptists and all pentacosts are like benny hinn. If your interpitation of the bible is causing you to hate others seeking Jesus well, you just aren't getting it. Hate begets hate and satan is happy indeed when we who call ourselves Christians bash others seeking Jesus as all this does is cause strife and division and edifies nothing.

Catholics are taught from birth to worship Mary as their god. I ought to know because i was born and raised in the Catholic Church.

That which you pray to IS your god. Mary is the god of the Catholics and Mary will always be their god to the end. They will never give up Mary to worship and follow God only. The Catholics actually believe their are 4 Gods. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, and god Mary.

Beware of the leaven of the Catholics.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 - Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins.

Romans 3:23 - All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Luke 1:46 And Mary said: "My soul exalts the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

So much for Mary being sinless.

No, its VERY true. There is none so blind as those who cannot see what the Catholic Church teaches.

In the Constitution Ineffabilis Deus of 8 December, 1854, Pius IX pronounced and defined that the Blessed Virgin Mary "in the first instance of her conception, by a singular privilege and grace granted by God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the human race, was preserved exempt from all stain of original sin."

492 The "splendor of an entirely unique holiness" by which Mary is "enriched from the first instant of her conception" comes wholly from Christ: she is "redeemed, in a more exalted fashion, by reason of the merits of her Son". The Father blessed Mary more than any other created person "in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places" and chose her "in Christ before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless before him in love".

Catholics do worship Mary as their god. Every time they Pray the Hail Mary they ARE worshiping Mary as a god!

What manner of spirit is the Catholic church filled with, seeing there are two possibilities as two different kinds of masters and one must chose which master ?.

The manner of spirit of corruptible man as the things of men according to a succession of fathers? Or the manner of the anointing Holy Spirit of God, after the same spirit of faith, according as it is written? Which master as Lord?

Remember the father of lies loves to mimick God. Its how he gets his foot in the door of the church.

You are correct. he does try to mimic*. This you must be careful of (He is whoever started your "Church.") The Catholic church- est. by Christ on the apostles in 33 AD is filled with the holy spirit because Christ's sacrifice was fulfilled on the cross, though began in the upper room with giving us his body. That is the gift he gave us to take away the sins of the world. He also gave us his grace to save us. He established ONE, holy, Catholic, and apostolic church just as the Nicene creed states from 325 AD. There is no 2 masters? Christ made us a family you have to see. So we must use each other as him being Father.

That's right, which is what the Catholic church is as Christ established it. And NOT as many different bodies of beliefs (33,000+ different Christian sects.)

answer your prayers. They are just people like you and me, some of us are still in the

This is a great post. I say that because you have clarified so much for your protestant brothers and sisters! So why is it bad to request prayers to other saints? It is biblical and has always been done. In no way does this take away from Christ as he established a body as a family to use it's members as well as him ultimately.

Yes, 'catholic' simply means 'universal' and the Church, the body of Christ (Colossians 1:18,24) is made up of all born again believers and is not simply the Roman Catholic institution. If Jesus returned for His Church today, He would not simply go to the Roman Catholic church or any other particular organization only, but would round up ALL genuine born again Christians regardless of what denomination or non-denominational church they attend.

I've heard people who attend the church of Christ quote Romans 16:16 which says, "the churches of Christ greet you" and claim they are the so called, 'True Church' because of their name. This kind of logic leaves such people in bondage to believing whatever their church tells them is right without question, regardless of what the Bible really teaches. Paul mentions the "church of God" in scripture and there is a denomination with the name "church of God" so should we assume it's the so called 'True Church' because of it's name?

This is what praying is- requesting prayers. We do not look to saints (our brothers and sisters in Christ) as highest power in place of or equal to Christ. Though even as it is biblical, we use them as intercessors just as you would ask someone to pray for you during a hard time. Hope that helps
