Matthew 13:
47 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea, gathering things of every kind.
48 When it was filled, they pulled it ashore; and they sat down and gathered up the good into containers, but threw the bad away.
49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth and separate the wicked from among the righteous
50 and throw them into the fiery furnace; in that place will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

How Full do we think the Dragnet is Today, Monday, May 15, 2023?

Let's not confuse simile with literal description.

This is just a light hearted, nothing intentional, kind of Thread. Even if we gave a date/time/year, we know no man knows and we understand the Scripture here. Harmless fun.

If it's Dragnet we need just the facts, ma'am, just the facts.

it’s a repetetive sermon with all the other parables there teaching Jesus disciples about Gods kingdom and how to understand it

“The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

…He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

….Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

….Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:1-3, 11, 24-25, 31, 33, 44, 47‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s literally the Lord from heaven teaching people about his heavenly kingdom and how to get there

repetition offering various details make a clearer picture to the believer who heard

the kingdom of heaven is like …..what Jesus explained so well and thoroughly in the gospel

The reason I say that is those parables all have conclusions as to when

“Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:24-26, 40-43, 47-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

"The end of the world" would be better represented by "the end of the age". The same Greek word can be translated either way, but Christ was speaking about the end of this present age. The end of this world will come much later.

Strong's Concordance
aión: a space of time, an age
Original Word: αἰών, ῶνος, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: aión
Phonetic Spelling: (ahee-ohn')
Definition: a space of time, an age
Usage: an age, a cycle (of time), especially of the present age as contrasted with the future age, and of one of a series of ages stretching to infinity.
