Lazarus the beggar went to Sheol, the underworld of the dead. It was divided into two compartments, Abraham's Bosom and Hades. Abraham's Bosom was a place of rest and comfort while Hades was a place of torment. This is very clear from the context.
At the time since the Jews were in captivity, they had thought God had abandoned them, so somewhere down the line they started considering Abraham as being the one that they have came from and Jesus was comparing the story of Lazarus that they had created, to how its going to be like.

Luke 7:19
he sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”

John 11.24 says-
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

John 11.24 says-
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Yes, he will but, Jesus is the Resurrection not the one that can resurrect the dead, but He give life to all things and he could lay it down also. There is an appointed day for resurrecting the dead, but He can do what He pleases to do. But the Jews had knew of the resurrection from the old testament.

John 10:18
No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”

John 7:6
Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do.

John 2:4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

John 1:4
In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

You were the one who brought up Lazarus of John 11:11-14. Not I.
These are the words of Jesus as to where Lazarus was when he died. Jesus said he was asleep. If people disagree then they are disagreeing with Jesus words.

After the 2nd death of Lazarus the friend of Christ ,Lazarus was worty to be written in the Book of Living and he was saved and he went to Heavens and he is called a Saint. He is commemorating at Saturday of the Holy and Righteous Friend of Christ, Lazarus.
Naturally, the miracle of the resurrection of Lazarus angered the Jews and "the High Priests planned to put Lazarus to death" (John 12:9-11), as he constituted living evidence of the miracle. Therefore the banished saint fled to the island of Cyprus where he encountered the apostles Paul and Barnabas and was ordained as the first Bishop of Citium.Ancient Citium, home to the philosopher Zeno, had the honour to propagate the teachings of the Lord through a personal friend of Christ. According to Saint Epiphanios, Bishop of Constantia of Cyprus (367-403), the righteous Lazarus lived on for another 30 years after his resurrection.
Historical accounts describe him as sullen and frowning during his lifetime which was due to all that he had witnessed during his four-day stay in the underworld. The same historical accounts report that he had only smiled once during his lifetime and that was when he saw someone stealing an earthen pot on which he commented aphoristically: "a piece of soil steals another piece of soil".
Saint Lazarus pray to God for us!

Lazarus did not go to heaven. Otherwise, Jesus would have said Lazarus come down instead of come forth, which explains Ezekiel 18:4 that his soul died and he had to come forth, not down from heaven. For this reason, the Pharisees wants to kill Lazarus after he was raised from the dead to cover their belief that the soul does not die since he could be a perfect witness against their beliefs about the soul goes to heaven.

I don't believe unless your soul has been dealt with that you can just enter heaven for it is Holy. We first need the new bodies, the purifying process. Jesus could not have Mary touch him because he was now pure with new body.

[SUP]John20:17 [/SUP]Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
