Teresa also expressed concern that if a God does exist (she was never quite
sure) then He may not like her and might even be quite inclined to condemn

I would say that is the natural conclusion somebody would come to when
God is nowhere nearby to convince them that they have nothing to worry
about.

cry out: Abba! Father! The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that

When somebody has the spirit of adoption, they don't worry whether God

and making sure they know.

Whenever anyone is in the wilderness experience and makes their complaints to others about it, they will either do one of two things. They will either justify God saying, l know l have to learn to walk by faith, and will not want to leave a negative view of God with others, or they will not. They will leave others to come to the conclusion that God is unfair and unjust proving that they are either backslidden or unconverted. This has been my observation.

Except it wasn't lifelong... The depression and dryness ended a few months prior to her death.

Also, you are only using quotes that are denigrating to her. You don't use the quote about her dryness in her prayer life and where she finds Christ

I love Mother Teresa for who she was, and what she did for the people. I leave the judging to God. She is a role model to all of us if you ask me. Hands that serve are more sacred than the lips that pray. Whether Catholic or not, would any of us have done what she did to those people? take a moment to think about it.

I notice that most, if not all, of the Teresa bashers are ultimately sourced from radical atheists.

yes you could say this...however depression might also be a 'thorn' that God allows someone to live with...

in order for this to be true you would have to establish that the person i was addressing was in their darkest hours...that certainly didn't seem to be the case...

moral equivocation doesn't work on me...

Christ's version of Christianity is a religion consisting of supernatural
realities. One of those realties is God's active presence in the lives of Christ's
loyal followers.

†. John 14:16 . . I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another
Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever

†. John 14:18 . . I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you

†. John 14:21 . . He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is
who loves me; and he who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will
love him, and will disclose myself to him.

†. John 14:23 . . If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father
will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

When someone complains; as did Teresa, that:

"I am told God loves me; and yet the reality of darkness & coldness &
emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul."

And/or:

"When I try to raise my thoughts to Heaven, there is such convicting
emptiness that those very thoughts return like sharp knives and hurt my
very soul. How painful is this unknown pain-- I have no faith."

And/or:

"Now Father-- since 49 or 50 this terrible sense of loss-- this untold
darkness-- this loneliness, this continual longing for God-- which gives me
pain deep down in my heart-- Darkness is such that I really do not see
neither with my mind nor with my reason-- the place of God in my soul is
blank-- There is no God in me-- when the pain of longing is so great-- I just
long & long for God-- and then it is that I feel-- He does not want me-- He is
not there-- God does not want me-- Sometimes-- I just hear my own heart
cry out-- "My God" and nothing else comes-- the torture and pain I can't

When people complain like that; it's quite obvious they have not only been
abandoned by God, but they never experienced His active presence in their
lives to begin with.

So; what happened? Why didn't Teresa experience the active presence of
God in her life? Well; hello? Her problem stemmed from John 14:21 and
John 14:23.

Bottom line: Teresa may have been a good Catholic, and she may have been
an excellent Sister Of Charity; but the truth is: she didn't love Christ, but
was, in point of fact, quite insubordinate; simple as that.

Who was she calling Jesus? Seeing that the Pope claims to be God on earth? If she was unsure that God existed..then she really never understood salvation and by Whom if her autobiography is correct. I am sure that she had ample opportunity to read the scriptures of the real Bible and not the papal doctrines. No one here is saying that all Catholics are bad people..its the Papal System that is demonic...what do you really know about Rome's history and its unspeakable acts against Christians who stood up against the corruption in the church of Rome and its false doctrines?

So Sad. Her writing does not just reflect struggles but a disconnect with God. She did not know God. I don't know if this applies to her but from what we know it might. I hope not.

One thing that I must not forget: Man looks on the out appearance but God looks on the heart. The best answer that I can come up with for myself, is to make sure I know Christ as my personal Savior. God does have sheep in the Catholic church too. He is no respecter of persons. He says,,the first will be last and the last will be first. Only God really knew her heart..I just want to make sure my election is sure, that I have a loving relationship with God.

As I read these quotes, it sounds to me like a woman who was absolutely steadfast in doing God's work in spite of many obstacles placed in her path by the enemy.
