I use NKJV mostly, Also NASB, and ESV.

If I get confused, or a word does not make sense. I look to the original languages to make sure I understand what is being said.
This is a smart approach. www.blueletterbible.org is a great tool for the original language things. I have a Greek course but I haven't started it yet..Bill Mounces.

What do you think the biggest error of the KJV is?
Addition of the Comma Johanneum in I John 5:7-8 would be a big one...as well as the long ending on the last chapter of Mark.

The best translation in my opinion is the new Apostolic Bible Polyglot translation into English. It translates the Greek Septuagint into English in a very beautiful translation. The Greek Septuagint was the Old and New Testament BOTH in Greek, so it is nice to see the same words being used throughout the Old and the New testament making it very clear, and it is also interlinear, so you see the Greek words above each English word, so it brings you closer to the very original meaning of the text. Look it up at The Apostolic Bible Polyglot - Interlinear Greek Septuagint (LXX) & Greek New testamentt . You can also find it for free online at ABP_Strongs - Apostolic Bible Polyglot English Text .

I like KJV while it may not be perfect it has by far the most resources to back it up.

Some argue that they are not the earliest manuscripts and that is true. But older does not automatically mean right. The KJV has way more backing and some of the verses that the older manuscripts don't have are still found in letters that predate. So in the end I go with the weight of evidence and KJV has it.

I will say you can find truth in many translations.

I use logos bible software. It has many greek and Hebrew tools as well as many commentaries, and about 10 different bible versions you can put side to side. But I will have to keep this in mind when I am not on my home compute. thanks.

I John 5:7-8 are the only verses in the bible that I'm aware of that definitively prove the existence of the trinity. I mean cut and dry no argument there are three and these three are one. Would you agree with that statement?

This guy is a KJV only person as well. He also believes if you don't hear the word of God from the KJV then you aren't truly a Christian. He is a stand up Pastor.

Greetings!

This will be my last post on the thread and no meant to offend. Still, I see confusion on your statement. Forgive me, but let me explain from what you wrote especially the bold ones and how funny it may seem.

"If you enjoy the KJV, fine, but don't foist it on others. The KJV language was outdated back in 1611! There's absolutely no need to use this translation today"

1. Foist-You specifically used the word not knowing that is a 16th century word. Am I sounding a trick? Check facts first.
2. Language- is a 13th century word. Sounds obsolete!
3.Outdated - also a 17 century word. Archaic right, but you use them.
4.absolutely -is a late 14th century word meaning completely. I see how you look down of God's Word. You have need to learn from history.
5.need- is an old English from the late 14th ce meaning to be under obligation. Whew!
6.use- is used as of 1200 AD.
7. translation - is a mid 14 ce
8. today - you didn't even expect that this was already used even in 1300's.

Still though you have your choice on the Version you wish to like, but never put down God's Word! Truth is absolute and the Word is absolutely correct. May the Word of God correct us not to correct them especially only by virtue of the your called "arhaism". Shallow.

Blessings on you,
I find you incredibly rude. You completely misunderstood my post and you're being incredibly picky. Also, you're accusing me of things I have not done. I have utmost respect for the Word of God. Seems you need to have a lesson in social graces. Good day.

I personally use a NKJV for study and a KJV + Strongs + Thayers (e-sword) for deeper study
Has the least amount of tainting from the corrupted alexandrian manuscripts :p

Which version of Logos do you have and how expensive is it?
Logos is horribly expensive :p

I know you're not asking me, sparkman, but it's pricey. At least, everything from Logos I've priced has been.

If I were you, I'd get the basics from the Mounce book and then use Biblearc, either at the website or with the app, though Blue Letter Bible is good, as you have said. I don't use the arcing function - or haven't yet - I like to use "Lookup" function, which has the latest Nestle-Aland Greek NT, the 28th Edition, which gives me the verb forms and what not. Of course, if you have the basics of NT Greek, you'll be able to identify them anyway. I need a refresher course (or get a good handle on it for the first time) - Mounce looks good.

Yeah the top end version is about 3000 dollars. I consider the Byzantine manuscripts to be more corrupt..but you know this :)

You guys are doing it all wrong. The bible says if a man speak in an unknown tongue which ancient Greek and Hebrew are... I don't know it, yall don't know it and neither does any one else, but if any man speak in an unknown tongue then One should interpret. It's our job to determine which one is the real one.

That's the weirdest interpretation I've heard of that verse :)

It not an interpretation, it's simply believing the bible for exactly what it says. :)
Greek and Hebrew are not unknown tongues :D

Where did you get that one from..Peter Ruckman? :)

So do you know Greek and Hebrew... looking up a word in a concordance doesn't count.

No I don't.

Even KJVers don't like Ruckman lol.

He's been married like 3 times and most of the Baptists who are KJV don't approve of that. I don't either. :)
