I have app that I can have a few versions on and I have the Message, the Complete Jewish Bible, English standard version, and NIV. NIV by far the best but CJB is interesting. Message is false and ESV is just not necessary.
I like the NIV, but the ESV is more accurate. Still, they're both the Word of God. Why do you find the ESV unnecessary? Or do you mean, in the sense that it's quite similar to some other translations?

I find it quite sad how we argue over which Bible translation uses the "correct" word when our concern should be that they all tell the gospel of Christ. Are you more concerned about a particular word or whether the message is correct? As far as i know each tranststion you are arguing about had the ssme message. Am i wrong about that? Dies the KJV give a different message than the ESV? Is the message in the NIV different from the others? Are we more worried about these "little" things than the message which God gave us? Does any one of these translations give the exact Words which God spoke? I doubt it but they all do tell us how to come to Christ and how we are to glorify Him.

I'm all about using the KJV, NASB, NIV, NKJV etc. The issue we are having is the KJV only crowd coming on here and saying any other translation is wrong and not the true translation. You don't see an NASB crowd or NIV crowd doing the same thing

Well if you didnt notice you can see the arguments getting thrown both ways. And that is my point. If they wanna say KJV only does it really matter? We will all end up reading the translation we can read easiest. So let them say KJV only and let them read KJV only. It shouldnt affect which Bible translation you read.

If your worried that "new Christians" will be affected by this then pray that God would speak to them no matter what translation they use. Its about Gods Word not the translation and Gods Word transends translation.

It's not all about the gospel for me and my maturing as a believer. I desire more. I desire the meat of the word. I need the right words. Doctrines can be missed. I want all truth God has for me. Entire verses missing, parts are missing, words are missing...does that not bother anyone? I want all the pure words of God that he promised. If we don't have it, then the world wins. We have zero to make our stand.

Because that crowd does not believe that what they have is the pure words of God without mixture. Find someone who believes that NASB or NIV is the true word of God without error. Then at least I could have a conversation. What you would like me to do is give up my faith in the word of God. You want me to take a lesser position on the Bible and I'm not willing to do that.

I find it is very similar to the NIV version so as the NIV more common I prefer it

I am so sorry to tell everyone this but we no longer have the exact Words of God written. What we do have is The Word Of God! Hiw do we get that in all these translations which are not the exact Words of God? PRAY! God has not told us everytjing about Himsrlf but what He has told us wr can get from any one of these translations. If you actually study every translation you will find words that might be incirrect and or verses thst were added or subtracted. Man is not perfect so we make mistakes. But i firmly believe that if any of these translations were hetetical then God would remove them. Did you also know that the most herecticle translation ever written you cannot buy in a book store? Sure you can now buy them online now but until a few years ago you could only get it by joining their little "club". Its called the "New World Tanslation".

So you want to know God? Then read His Word in whatever translation you want and pray to Him for understanding. Hmmm i believe this guy by the name of David prayed that. It is in every translation in Psalms.

Satan is no dummy. He knows the best way to divide the church is to get them to argue over "a" word than discussing "the" Word.

The translation i use? I use the one that i can read easiest then pray to God to translate it for me using any resource He has provided for us to use and He directs me toward. Resources? Books, sermons, writings, video, music, nature ect. Whatever way God can touch my heart to glorify Him.
