...“Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the
election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded (Rom. 11:7).

To purposely blind someone physically is a serious offense, for it leads to a
difficult life for the one who has been blinded. To purposely blind someone
spiritually, however, is an infinitely more serious matter, for it leads to an
eternity in the lake of fire.

So when Paul speaks here of some in Israel who were spiritually blinded, it is
important that we determine who it is that blinded the Jews of whom he spoke.

In light of the serious nature of this issue, it is surprising to hear the Lord Jesus
Christ lay the blame for Israel’s blindness squarely at the feet of God the Father.
Speaking of the Jews who refused to believe on Him, the Lord explained,

“Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, “He
hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not
see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted,
and I should heal them” (John 12:39,40).

These verses have been the cause of much concern for believers down through
the centuries. What kind of God would do such a thing? It hardly seems fair
that God would deliberately blind someone so that they could not believe the
gospel, and then condemn them to hell for not believing the gospel.

Wouldn’t that give these unbelievers an excuse on Judgment Day? Wouldn’t they
be able to say to God on that day, “You can’t condemn me to Hell for not believing!
The reason I couldn’t believe is because You blinded me!”

What answer could a just God possibly give to such a charge?

As you can see, it is important to come to a proper understanding of this
verse. The Character and Justice of God are at stake here!...

Romans 1:28
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;”

God's blinding's are the result of men's previous rejections and willful sin.

He will bring them back as Israel, but we must remember that they all had the opportunity to join the Church back at the beginning of the Church Age.

The Disciples were Jews also, but they accepted the new and better way in timely fashion. They became part of the Church. The call went out to all.

The HUGE mistake here is that it is a temporary blindness…

If we truly understood The Kingdom of God (Not the Kingdom of Israel) that is coming and will invade Earth, perhaps we could actually begin to see the God that created ALL that is seen and not seen and His great love for ALL of us and His GREAT DESIRE for RELATIONSHIP with ALL of us … Jew and Gentile… WHOSOEVER will believe and LOVE HIM.(y)

Jesus Christ the Messiah was preaching The Kingdom of God, NOT the Kingdom of Israel.

Israel will be the WALL around the New Jerusalem.

Only the WALL is only Israel, NO GENTILES.

The New Jerusalem is ALL NATIONS, TONGUES and PEOPLE.

Israel has their very own SEPARATE plan and purpose; however, the Holy City is a mixture - Jew First and then Gentile.

God is doing it… making ALL things new and His Works are glorious and marvelous in our sight.(y)

The Book of Nehemiah has a lot of secrets concerning the future of Israel and how they will arise and build the Wall around Jerusalem…

“Israel has their very own SEPARATE plan and purpose; however, the Holy City is a mixture - Jew First and then Gentile.”

not at all gentiles we’re included in the kingdom offered first to israel

“how that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; that the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:3, 5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”
‭‭John‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

whether a person was a Jew or gentile doesn’t mean anything people are people and there’s one lord for them all one God one kingdom

Jesus is Israel’s savior and the gospel is Israel’s doctrine it was offered to gentiles after the nation of Israel rejected it but for a remnant that accepted and believed Jesus thier messiah who was also offered to everyone else as was the plan always

“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Gods one kingdom is measured by those that dwell Here

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18‬ ‭

There is absolutely not a way for israel and then a seperate way for gentiles all of the one church one body of Christ consists of people old young black white Jew gentile male female

God is no respector of anyone over another no one can be saved if they don’t accept Jesus Christ and his gospel to be a child of Abraham who are Gods children , a Jew or a gentile has to do this there’s no other path

“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:26-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The flesh means nothing to God and shouldn’t to us what race we are can’t save or condemn us even an Israelite who rejects Jesus is excluded and a gentile who rejects Jesus is excluded there’s no other offer regardless of. Aruonaloty , race , gender or prior creeds

Yes. Jesus intended that all, including Jews, come to Him. The Early Church was full of Jews. Those Jews that rejected Jesus have been blinded until the Tribulation Period when their eyes will be opened, and Jesus will draw them unto Himself.

2 Corinthians 3:14-16
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

Galatians 3:23-26
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Rejection of Christ (which is the essence of Gods Grace) is the cause of being blind and being under the Law (10 commandments). Its not just a jewish thing. It is a mankind thing. Its just that with all the training and the gifts of God the Hebrews really should have known better. They were supposed to Know God and His Way. They still think they do, but obviously no.

Its the sad thing about people who try to push the Jewish religion onto everyone. They don't know that its a curse. Because their minds are blinded.

1 Timothy 1:5-7
5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

brother anyone that has rejected Jesus Jew or gentile is most likely king passed away and can’t possibly my partake in any “ tribulation on earth “ they already died long ago those in Jesus generation that rejected him are already born on earth lived and died and. NOw await the judgement and resurrection this day

“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth;

they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;

and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:28-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s for those who have rejected Jesus they have to now stand on their own merits before God and nOne is worthy but Christ who they had rejected now they are judged by thier own deeds no atonement

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭20:12-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The book of life is the gospel and those who have accepted and believed being delivered from the second death

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This was spoken only to the Jews first by Jesus thier promised messiah , and then a few a small remnant accepted him and he sent them out to all the nations to preach the same gospel to all people of the earth it’s always been the plan it’s what Abraham and his promises is about

“As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭17:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, and said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭22:15-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Israel is only the first born nation of Abraham many nations would be his children , israel would be the seed by which it would be accomplished

“Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:7-9, 16, 27-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s true of a former Jew or gentile but brother the flesh doesn’t count anymore being of israelite blood doesn’t mean a thing now it offers no life or salvation who our parents are every man now has an equal way it’s the fulfillment of Abraham’s promise

All Nations will Be blessed in thy seed

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when the believers of Israel were sent out to all nations it’s not as if they stopped converting Israelites
many of those who had been blinded were converted at pentocost three thousand in number . Many of the apostles remained in Jerusalem preaching the gospel to all of Israel after Jesus ascended to heaven Paul and barnabus , Luke , Timothy , Silas , Apollos , Priscilla and Aquila as well as many general apostles spread out and were scattered everywhere preaching the gospel to everyone including the Jews out there in the world already scattered from 700 years beforehand when Babylon overtook them

Even today and for the past two thousand years there’s been Jews converting to the gospel when they hear it and there’s been gentiles converting to Christianity when they hear it there’s just one group now believers and then there’s non believers

There’s always been tribulation , earthquakes , wars and rumors of wars , there’s rampant injustice everywhere abuse and neglect everywhere murder , rape , robbery , lust , greed , pride , violence evil everywhere in the world bad men ruling with nuclear weapons threatening one another ect the world as God made it and intended it to be brother is in total chaos and the order is upside down death row fs over every man and power and money rule the day and corrupts mankind

Tribulation has always been happening “the great “ tribulation Jesus spoke of was the destruction of Jerusalem that Jesus generation endured prophecied from old time the brutal three year besiegement and destruction of Jerusalem and its temple

since then , the world goes on in a perpetual state of tribulation and it seems normal so we go on with daily life as if the world is what it is we’re waiting for Jesus now brother when he returns it will end allOf the terrible ways man created in earth death and violence abuse and neglect wars and power hunger and greed and lust for rule and reign all that leads us to evil and fills the world with wickedness is going to end

your living in a world brother that’s filled with tribulation and anguish to good godly people in the world it’s just not on our doorstep everyday so we think it’s not happening today there are people in prison , bieng killed , beaten , subjugated, worked to death , violated in many ways across the globe because of their Christian faith it’s just that no none looks and sees and considers the massive tribulation occurring on earth today and always

it’s why children are abused or die of terrible diseases , why people murder one another and terrible things happen to good godly people , there’s a world we have to endure as believers of the gospel and tribulation is always going to be present for some

“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:19-20‬

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Princes have persecuted me without a cause: But my heart standeth in awe of thy word.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119:161‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep your's also.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This world may be very cruel to Christian’s and they might endure terrible times but this is for us all to believe in and hold on to , now in this life to be saved from whats coming to sinners after they leave this life and body

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is going to sort us all out in the end. And I hope that is right cause I don't want any person I know judging me or you or any of your friends or my friends. And I definitely don't want my enemies judging me!!!! And I am supposed to pray for them.>>>lol>>>>Arrrrgh

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Yes. It is too late for those who have died without Christ.
Maybe the Jews will be judged according to how well they kept the law. And I hope that is right cause I don't want any person I know judging me or you or any of your friends or my friends. And I definitely don't want my enemies judging me!!!! And I am supposed to pray for them.>>>lol>>>>Arrrrgh

As above from
John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

It is all up to God about judgement. Jesus when here in the flesh judged no one why should we try and determine the ultimate fate of any.

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

To purposely blind someone
spiritually, however, is an infinitely more serious matter, for it leads to an eternity in the lake of fire .
That is why I am cautious about the message being delivered by some!!!!!>>>>Though I don't agree with this part of your statement.
"it leads to an eternity in the lake of fire" >>>Jesus judged no one when He was here, and He spoke these words which are recorded.

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

I don't know where exactly it is written, but almost certain those who are preaching a message not in accordance with the Bible are going to be reprimanded more severely. Likely includes those who blind others spiritually. 'My reasoning', I have talked with maybe a half dozen preachers by phone and almost certain they were sincere but also informing me incorrectly in some cases.

And it seems that even the groups that here on this chat which are supposedly some sort of 'cult' like JW's, I find the laity to be sincere in their soliciting and the message they put across sounds pretty convincing and many believe it and maybe their leaders believe it too. I might have fallen for it 5 or 6 years ago depending on how I was being led most likely. Would I have been condemned to hell?

Just watched a film about C.S. Lewis, "Shadowlands", and now I question all his writings but am informed here on this chat in the past that some like his writings. Never having read any of his material, now not sure I will but now my trusted person who is to me an incredible specimen of faith is a C.S. Lewis fan and this is perplexing. Ramble, ramble, ramble. Trying to put this all together.

I do avoid certain preaching which goes too far against the Bible as I now see that there is no group has it all figured out. And I was almost certain the Amish did at one time. Only spoke with one Amish person in my life by phone at his buggy repair shop in Ohio and he was hoping Jesus was returning soon. I guess he figured he was not going to hell, else why would he want Jesus to return!!!!!

Maybe the Jews will be judged according to how well they kept the law.
Not looking very good for them then. :(
Romans 3:20
“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

I suppose you were referring to the OT times?

Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Romans 4:
1What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

It does make one wonder about all those who mindlessly followed Moses around in the wilderness just for the manna and quail.

Lewis was not a theologian and never claimed to be. His hallmark was his humility, honesty and transparency.

I do avoid certain preaching which goes too far against the Bible as I now see that there is no group has it all figured out. And I was almost certain the Amish did at one time.
The Anabaptists (Amish and Mennonites) do hold to fairly sound doctrine, but they tend to drag some of their culture and tradition into the Church at times. They have many rules and guidelines that can become legalistic stumbling blocks. I am a member of the Mennonite Church, but I identify only as a Christian. The Word and the Spirit are the only true guides. I am convinced that there is no perfect "denomination".

I suppose you were referring to the OT times?
Here in Chicago a group calling themselves House of Jacob claim that they are Israelites and sons of Shem and Caucasians are sons of Japheth and most other people of darker complexion are sons of Ham. The teacher I have been in discussions with for over a year is sincere and says the majority of people in the country of Israel are Edomites. Now I am not in any hurry or position to know how this understanding of this teacher that I call brother is to be taken since all religion is a new thing to me. Almost every few weeks I get some new concept either told to me or something I read or hear on the news at times. I never concerned myself with anything religious until 2017 with the exception of on and off involvement between 1971 and 1975. Spurgeon mentions that history needs to be understood in relation to the Bible and that is the way I try to piece the world together, which means rethinking many viewpoints that a person develops in a lifetime.

It seems that many on this site should do the same. Listening to John Lennox speaking of the Christian 'bubble' seems accurate in that sense. I don't know for certain that he backed that statement up with scripture, but it may be that he was talking of traditions of men creeping into church teachings. The OP on this thread may be doing some of that as his material by R. Kurth is based on the writing of C.R.Stam. I was watching the Berean Bible Society teaching on TV a few years ago and even supported them some until I started listening to other preachers. The Bereans say Paul is for Gentiles and seem to want to make his writings almost 'exclusive'.

Seems verses tell us like here>>>> Psalms 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,>>> The entire Bible is about Jesus.

So all the writings of OT and NT are about Jesus and this>>>2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:>>>>If it is all inspired by God than it is every word the word of Jesus as given to men by inspiring them to record the words for our benefit.

I don't see singling Paul out as the special teacher of Gentiles as here>>>1 Corinthians 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

Deut 29:2-4 . . Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them: Your
eyes have seen all that The Lord did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials
and to all his land. With your own eyes you saw those great trials, those
miraculous signs and great wonders. But to this day The Lord has not given
you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.

The low spiritual IQ, the blindness, and the deafness imposed upon Moses'
people was neither arbitrary nor indiscriminate; they had it coming.

Deut 9:23-24 . . And when The Lord sent you out from Kadesh Barnea, he
said, "Go up and take possession of the land I have given you." But you
rebelled against the command of The Lord your God. You did not trust Him
or obey Him. You have been rebellious against The Lord ever since I have
known you!

The Jews' rebellious resolve is apparently systemic because it just keeps on
going, and going, and going, generation after generation; down thru the
centuries.

Zech 7:11-12 . . But they refused to pay attention; stubbornly they turned
their backs and stopped up their ears. They made their hearts as hard as
flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that The Lord Almighty
had sent by His spirit through the earlier prophets. So The Lord Almighty
was very angry. (cf. Dan 9:2-11)

The Jews' rebellious attitude is recorded for today's benefit so that by
knowing about it, folks one and all don't make the same mistake.

1Cor 10:11-13 . .These things happened to them as examples and were
written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has
come. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall.

...“Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the
election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded (Rom.

Precious friends:

Grace, Peace, And JOY In Christ, And In His Word Of Truth, Rightly
Divided
(+ I and II)!
Who rejected Joseph and to all intents and purposes gave him up to die, to Jacob his beloved Joseph met a bloody end, But the 12 brothers were ALL Israel.

Israel are ELECT. this is a difficult bullet for Christians to bite on but elect people cannot lose their election for they are chosen before they are born. Before they do right or wrong, before they either accept Christ or reject Him.

God meant for Israel to reject Christ and hand Him over to be crucified.

As Joseph said to his brethren when he pardoned them "you meant it for evil but God meant it for good" ALL Israel were pardoned for their sin against Joseph and were saved at the last.
