I'm sorry to be bringing up this topic again, but this is an urgent manner.

After I posted the "Please Pray For JesusMyOnly" thread, a couple people came to me and messaged me, saying that Andrew James (ANW9) contacted them. They told me that, at first, he was a sweet and nice guy. And then, he turned controlling, passive aggressive, and manipulative.

I've also talked with Andrew, and I can attest to those points. He is a master manipulator, trying to tweak things to get people to see his point. He uses the argument that "if the bible doesn't explicitly say something, then I can exploit that loophole to say it's right/wrong". The Church of Christ, as well as the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and other sects, have turned this into a SCIENCE. They insult anyone who contradicts their teachings, saying they're not "enlightened enough", or they haven't studied the Bible enough. Sound like a similar group of people in the New Testament?

Andrew pulls his doctrine from these articles: Bible Studies - Leiper's Fork church of Christ This is his church, and I spent a month looking over their doctrines. The way they tweak scripture to justify their point is simply astonishing.

I am wondering what people has Andrew tried to contact, and what happened. I am urging you to keep in the scriptures, know the truth, and guard your hearts. This man has preyed on the vulnerable. Stolen someone I love, and left her in spiritual torment. PLEASE, expose this lie, and let the truth come in.

I also don't want anyone to think this is some sad romantic triangle thing. I am in love with no one. I just opened my eyes to the teachings of Jesus.

The issue is, the Church of Christ is striving to reflect the original Church, NOT Jesus Christ himself.

..ah, the good old days..when notes passed during class was about all ya could do. On occasion the teacher would see it, confiscate it, and if she was particularly vindictive make you read it in front of the whole class..a mere 30 or so. Nowadays..we gotta tell the world???

I remember being paranoid the teacher would take our notes so me and my friend would write on our arms and show each other.

Sad indeed.
The schoolhouse jokes don't lighten the implications.

Generally, CoC are only able to convert their own children. Seeing them take a new member, not of their own house, is a terrible travesty.

I don't know or understand the motivation of the OP. It is admittedly an odd thread.

I still don't retract how disturbing it is that someone would convert to an apostate religion.

I don't keep up with all the doctrines..it's impossible. I do know trying to publicly humiliate another member is not cool.

I went to the website you posted and read their 'About Us' page and they claim to originate from the American Stone-Campbell restoration movement which incorporates both reformation and restoration objectives and has three mainline denominations (e.g., Churches of Christ, Christian churches and churches of Christ, and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)).

Anyone interested in the movement can benefit from Dr. Carisse Mickey Berryhill's books, courses, publications, etc... on the American Restoration Movement. Also beneficial would be: The Encyclopedia of the Stone-Campbell Movement - Google Books

However, this movement is perhaps most famous from a non-historical perspective for all the enormous amount of infighting that's occurred in it. There have been many splits and much discord between the various resulting factions over the many decades it has existed.

And look at their 'Bible Studies' page. The 'us' versus 'all of them' is clearly discernible. Everyone that doesn't align to a knat's eyebrow with their theology is "apostate" including the aggregate of all Catholics (including Old Catholics and Eastern Orthodox), Protestants, and Evangelicals (though birthed from the Protestant movement during America's Second Great Awakening they haven't considered themselves part of the Protestant Movement since the 20th century).

I finished an M.Div. at a Church of Christ college with an A average and can debate any faucet of this movement's theology, both what they get right and what they do not. Plus, I'm really hard to manipulate. So, where would you two like to begin?

I have been a member of the church of Christ for 30+ years. Evidently you have some issue with the Lord's church. Instead of continuing to make untruthful and unproven statements about the church of Christ, would you like to pick a topic to debate about?

I thank you for post sir. For showing your ignorance and arrogance. For anyone who like to discuss the bible with me
I am more than happy to do so with them. However let us leave personal bias at the door and emotionalism. Let us reason with each other from the scriptures and let us not merely be hearers of the word deceiving ourselves but let us do what the word says (James 1:22)

He doesn't strike me as neither ignorant or arrogant. He does sound like he is very concerned. That is a good thing.
