Who is Jesus?

Please help me to understand...
He is GOD incarnate.

'Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” ' (John 20:28)

Some theology of it from book of Hebrews..

"Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— [SUP]15 [/SUP]and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants [us]. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For this reason he had to be made like them [us], fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted."

God is Trinity; Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made.
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary , and was made man.
And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried.
And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures.
And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father.
And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead , Whose kingdom shall have no end.

Who is Jesus?

I claim to be a Christian, but do I really know him?

I wont include what I already know because my beliefs may be wrong and what matters is the truth.

Please help me to understand who Jesus is.
He is the only be gotten son of God. And the Word made flesh ( John 1:14 )

He is the savior of the world.

He is able to take away our sins; through sacrificing Himself; to pay the price for our wickedness so we don't have to. He is innocent, yet he took the strips for our sins. Then upon belief on Him, we can receive the healing . ( Isaiah 53:5 )

Christ died for us (Romans 5:8); also, He was raised from the dead (Romans 6:4; Revelation 1:18).

Jesus Christ is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, on Calvary (Romans 5:11); not only for the tribes of Israel, but for the sins of the world (I John 2:2).

Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven (Mark 16:19; Hebrews 8:1).

Jesus Christ will return (Zechariah 14:4; Acts 1:9-14) when He shall take the Throne of David (Isaiah 9:6-7; Luke 1:32-33) and rule on earth for the prophetic thousand years known as the millennium (Revelation 20:4 Zechariah 14:9).

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

salvation is by grace through faith, and it is the gift of God, and not of works (Ephesians 2:8-9). It must be preached (Romans 10:14) and it is necessary for all (Romans 3:23).

water baptism is ordained of God for all that believe (Matthew 3:13-15; Romans 6:3-5; Acts 2:37-39).

communion was established by Jesus Christ (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 10:16).

Jesus Christ has broken the power of Satan (Hebrews 2:14) and His Name makes devils impotent against Christians (Luke 10:17).

The Lord Jesus Christ along with His followers are at battle with Satan and his followers (Ephesians 6:11-19): And Jesus Christ is the victor in this "battle" (Isaiah 28:21-22; 45:17-25; Ezekiel 38-39; Hosea 13-14; Joel 3:9-21; Micah 7:16-20; Zechariah 14:9 Malachi 4; Matthew 28:18; Luke 19:27; I Corinthians 15:24-28; Philippians 2:9-11; II Peter 3:7-13; Revelation 11:18; 15:4; 19:11-15 and others).

There is resurrection of the dead as prophesied (Job 19:25-27; Hosea 13:13-14; John 5:29); as proven (I Peter 1:3); as taught by the Scripture (Acts 24:14-15; I Corinthians 15:11-26) and that the resurrected will reign with Christ (II Timothy 2:11-12) for ever (Revelation 22:1-5).

John 1

King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Christ is God 1 John 5:7
etc.

Knowing Jesus and salvation is not about "you"! God is the one who saves us. As for the whole truth:

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6.

Jesus is the "truth". Believe and repent and you will be saved!

For the longest time I misinterpreted who Jesus is. I'll have to ask God to reveal to me what he revealed to Simon. Like ElizabethPeter said our carnal minds are not sufficient in regards to understanding the Word of God.

I know I said I would ask questions and share my confusion. But my questions were answered and my confusion is being lifted.

Thank you all for the comments.

Please pray for me.
Will do.

Just remember, that when Peter said that Jesus was the Christ (Messiah) in Matthew 16, that was BEFORE Peter denied Jesus at his crucifixion, before even he thought he had to violently defend Jesus against the Romans who came to arrest him. As much as he recognised Jesus as Messiah, he did not yet understand what the Messiah was there to do - that he was there to die and to suffer, before being raised and exulted. Peter learned that later.
