And if they are abolished and nailed crucified to the cross and we are to now just believe in Jesus why did Jesus tell us keep the commandments to enter life. Why do most major religions of Jesus not keep the commandments and say as paul did they have been abolished yet tell you you must pay tithes. Is Paul greater than James or Jesus, where did Paul get this
First of all, Paul didn't change anything on his own. He was inspired by God to write what God wanted him to. In 2 Timothy 3:16 it says "ALL scripture is breathed out BY GOD and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." The Old Testament was done away with when Jesus died on the cross. In Colossians 2:14 it says speaking about the Old Testament "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and TOOK IT OUT OF THE WAY, NAILING IT TO THE CROSS." We are under the New Testament and are to follow it only. The Old Testament was for the physical nation of Israel. Even the people that say we are to follow the Old Testament don't follow the whole law. They don't make sacrifices and go by all of the laws.

Friday evening to Saturday evening is the Jewish Sabbath...
Just because somebody understands this it doesn't prove that their overall beliefs and teachings are sound. There are lots of groups who believe in the biblical sabbath yet many of their other beliefs stinks.

1st off, The sabaath is not as stringent is the jews state it is, nor as many in the church hold it out to be.

why are you sticking to just this one?

Most christians break other commands to. Like Love the Lord your god with all your heart mind and spirit. we fail to do this daily as we chose self over God yet no one ever wants to talk about this command. Which if we look at it, would cover so many of the other commands..
Loving others hinges on this first and greatest commandment :)

In a nutshell, Paul does not nor ever said the commandments are abolished. In fact he says the Torah is perfect, righteous and Holy. All Paul says is that we cannot be saved by it. For if Torah was abolished, than why did Paul do the Nazarite vow that comes from Torah Numbers 6 which requires sacrificial offering in the temple. Acts 21:21-24
Pretty interesting, this is why Peter said Paul is hard to understand.

If you have a look at the Jewish laws linked to below you will see they apply to the Jewish people themselves and are not really applicable to Romans, Greeks or any-other nation. They are national laws for ONE nation only. Judaism is a national religion for Jews and nobody else.

613 commandments - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Their laws even allow killing, see the short list below:

487 Save someone being pursued even by taking the life of the pursuer — Deut. 25:12
488 Not to pity the pursuer — Num. 35:12
545 The courts must carry out the death penalty of stoning — Deut. 22:24
546 The courts must carry out the death penalty of burning — Lev. 20:14
547 The courts must carry out the death penalty of the sword — Ex. 21:20
548 The courts must carry out the death penalty of strangulation — Lev. 20:10
549 The courts must hang those stoned for blasphemy or idolatry — Deut. 21:22
550 Bury the executed on the day they are killed — Deut. 21:23
555 The court must not kill anybody on circumstantial evidence — Ex. 23:7
51 Not to bow down before a smooth stone — Lev. 26:1 (Idolotry)
189 Not to benefit from an ox condemned to be stoned — Ex. 21:2 (Cruelty)
008 Not to destroy objects associated with His Name — Deut. 12:4 (Idolotry)
596 Destroy the seven Canaanite nations — Deut. 20:17
597 Not to let any of them remain alive — Deut. 20:16
598 Wipe out the descendants of Amalek — Deut. 25:19
599 Remember what Amalek did to the Jewish people — Deut. 25:17
600 Not to forget Amalek's atrocities and ambush on our journey from Egypt in the desert — Deut. 25:19
603 Not to offer peace to Ammon and Moab while besieging them — Deut. 23:7

There is only One God who is the I AM and he gave us Ten Commandments and Jesus gave us almost 40 more. These are universal laws and these are what all peoples of all nations should follow in accordance with One universal God.
This is why Yeshua became the curse of the law. But I would be interested in some of the 'almost 40' commandments you say Yeshua added.

So if Paul never said the commands were abolished why have these major Christian religions thrown out the Jewish Sabbath breaking the law of God and inventing a new day commandment by man
If I may interject a small correction. It is YAH's Sabbath, not jews sabbath. It has been commonly called that by the christian churches as a part of seperating the church from YAH's commandments. Claiming it to be for Israel only. But a excellent question, for the bible NEVER shows or teaches that sabbath was changed from sat. to sun. But it is proven in the catholic catechism that the RCC changed it because they claim they have the authority to change YAH's commandments.

As I have said many times. Jesus is my sabbath, I rest in him. What rule will save you. obeying what rule will sanctify you. It is by faith in the work of the cross that Holy Spirit works in us to bring us to sanctification and not by our own means. I f we think that keeping a rule sanctifies us then we have negated the cross.

Here are the commandments of Jesus :)

The Golden Rule
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

The other commandments of Jesus
1. "Forgive everybody of all their offenses against you."

2. "You must be born again."
3. "Abide in me, and let me abide in you."
4. "Let people see your good works." (do not hide your light under a basket.)
5. "End disputes quickly."
6. "Whatever causes you to sin, get rid of it."
7. "Do not swear oaths at all."
8. "Do not return offense for offense." (Turn the other cheek.)

9. "Give what people ask of you, and give more than is required." (Go the extra mile.)
10. "Love your enemies and those who work against you."
11. "Give to the poor to please God, not to gain approval from other people."
12. "Pray privately and simply, not to impress other people."
13. "Make your prayers be like the Lord’s Prayer."
14. "When you fast, do it secretly, not for show."
15. "Store up your treasures in heaven, not on earth."
16. "Do not worry about your material needs."
17. "Do not worry about the future."
18. "Make God your highest priority, and he will take care of all your needs."
19. "Do not judge other people." (Judge not, lest ye be judged.)
20. "Do not give holy things to dogs or cast your pearls before swine."
21. "Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, comfort those in distress."
22. "Follow the narrow path to life." (enter by the narrow gate.)
23. "Beware of false prophets."
24. "Exercise power over unclean spirits."
25. "Love little children, do not despise them."
26. "Do not take the titles 'master' or 'father' for yourself."
27. "Resolve disputes in an orderly way, like this . . . "
28. "Do not oppose other believers in Christ who are not in your group."
29. "Have total faith in God for everything."

30. "Be like the good Samaritan." (go, and do likewise.)
31. "Love other people as i have loved you"
32. "Eat bread and drink wine in remembrance of me."
33. "Wash one another's feet."

34. "Be merciful."
35. "Go and teach all nations, baptising them."
36. "Keep my commandments."
37. "Be prepared for your master to return."

As I have said many times. Jesus is my sabbath,So you claim you're obeying the fourth commandment by this?

I rest in him.How so?

What rule will save you.none

obeying what rule will sanctify you.none

Correct.
But no one here has said they keep the rules for any of what you say here. I personally keep sabbath the way YAH said to, because I love Him and do it to honor Him. Especially because He gave me the free gift of salvation through faith. And scripture also says that faith without works is dead. And this has nothing to do with salvation.

Why do you think that Jesus at the last supper, that is to say communion. Said as oft as you do it do it in remembrance of me. He gave no set time, for this very reason. He knew that people would put their faith in a ritual and not His work on the cross.

These are very good. Though over half can be found in the Torah and in Psalms and Proverbs. Most everything Yeshua said, were quotes from the OT. Thank you for posting. :)

Yeshua ate the last supper because He was about to become the Passover Lamb. This was done so we could do this often in memory of what He did for us. This has nothing to do with the commandments, but a good question none the less.

There is much that is good in the Torah and yes Jesus was there and gives it His authority, but we also see another side and I feel the Israelite followed at different times two masters, and for following the deceiver they were punished by Almighty God?

Thanks for spotting the mistake about the Golden rule. I will change it to this

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." Mat 7:12

Paul never said to not listen to the law. Its just how it sounds in English, if you weren't careful it could sound that way.

Paul never said to no listen to the law. He himself follows the law as Jesus did. If you know a little bit about jewish laws and traditions you will see they were 100% jewish, but both of them made it clear that you are save by GOd grace not by your own.

Before Paul accept jesus he was a pharisee. Pharisees were known to be very strict and holly but didn't practise what is more important for god :LOVE. Most of them were also hypocrites and jesus knew their hearts weren't with him. All their goods behaviours was to be praise and idolize by the population. This is why Paul emphasize it. He didn't want the disciple of God to do the same things.

The first disciples observed the shabbat which start on friday night and fisnish on saturday night but it has nothing to do with going to churche. They used to meet each day to praise god and pray as god ask us to pray at all times. They also used to observe God feast as god said It is a statute forever throughout your generations.

People used to mocked them and called them christian which at that time was a pejorative word. In 312 after J-C there was a King in Roma named Constantin the Ist. He converted to christianity after dreaming of a cross with a voice saying he will be victorious by this sign ( I am pretty sure it wasn't god's voice ). He made christiany the offical religion of Roma and change almost everything paul and the other disciples brought. He still practised pagan idolatry and said he wanted to separed himself from the jewish ( someone had to remember him that JESUS was jewish he is actually the king of king of jérusalem). So he changed the sabbath to Sunday ( In Roma it was the God of sun who was worship on this day) and abolish almost every God fiest. He brought to christiany all his old God changing their names. An old deesse become mary the mother of Jesus, this is why catholics has so many saints.

When the first reformers came they separed themselve from all the saints and other stuff but didn't paid attention to the sabbath and law of God ( some of them were anti-semitic). Now a day people keep practising christmas, christian easter and some other stuff as they don't know the truth behind it. Every pastors who attended a theological school know about it but a lot of them don't want to practise it or believe that it was abolised so they don't talk about it.

There is also the problem of translation. Most of the bibles had been translated by christian but all the bibles writers were jewish so there is a lot of misunderstanding beacuse they don't know much about jewish tradition or the jewish thinking.

Personally i don't do it to be saved i do it because it a god law and i know that practising the sabbath and his fiest are blessing times and have brings many blessings in my life. I do it because i love him, and i want to obey his law as i try with his grace to forgive peoples for their offenses and pray for my enemy. I think people should seek what's god want from them sincerely without listening to what pleople have to say, and do it if the holly spirit guide them in this way.

There is a new new testament written by STERN DAVID H. to read in a jewish context
