Hi All,

Please can you guys tell me which denominations worship on a Saturday. I know of the seventh day adventists but I am interested to know if there are others. I currently am a Methodist (Sunday) worshipper but I am feeling uneasy as you say as to why I worship on a Sunday and want to see what other Churches that worship on the Saturday.
Hi Bazman
Theirs the Messianic Jews. They come closer to following the scriptures than any group I know of. Thing is, if your in a rural area as I am it will be tuff finding them

Look for a Messianic congregation. They worship on Saturday and other days. They also keep the Jewish high days (Rosh Hashanah, Passover, etc.

Ahh now we come to the crux of the matter I am not a Jew and neither do I want to be. Messianic jews are jews that follow Jesus as the Messiah but I am a gentile christian. Or is that the point? Should I even be looking for Saturday worship as I dont want to have to obey all the Jewish customs..

It is OK. There are many non jews in a messianic congregation. Some of us like to keep in touch with the old ways. I have a Jewish prayer shawl, a Mezuzah on my door and have attended several Passover celebrations. I even hosted my own Seder (Passover meal) once. If you are still worried about it, you can call them.

YES! The nation Israel is the anti-type to the true Israel, Christ our Lord.

We've been in the period of God's rest since the last day Creation. That's what the bible communicates, how to enter into that rest, that's what God is concerned with, fallen man entering into His rest, salvation.
You really think the covenant of Hebrews 8 has arrived?

HEBREWS 8 [11] And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

Well should you not be trying to teach me about the Lord as Hebrews 8 says? Do you really believe that EVERYONE knows the Lord?

..and by the way, Christians have been grafted into the same tree that the Jews come from. So that all of us christians can still be called sons and daughters of Abraham.

You might simply be one of the lost sheep

MATT.15 [22] And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.[23] But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.[24] But he answered and said, I AM NOT SENT BUT UNTO THE LOST SHEEP of the house of Israel.

Jesus said "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel"

JER.50 [4] In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.[5] They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in A PERPETUAL COVENANT that shall not be forgotten.[6] MY PEOPLE HATH BEEN LOST SHEEP: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, THEY HAVE FORGOTTEN THEIR RESTINGPLACE.

"Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy"
"If you love me keep my commandmenys"
"Many say they know me but their actions are aganist me"
"On judgement day the book of laws was opened and people were judged according to what is in it"

MY QUESTION IS WHY ARE PEOPLE REJECTING THE LORDS WILL. WE CARRY OUR BAGS AND SAY WE ARE GOING TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY. SATURDAY HAS NOW BECOME A DAY OF PARTING AND SOCIAL EVENS. WHY? Someone please answer.
Mark 7
7However, in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things you do. 9And he said to them, Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition.

Thanks Wall maybe.. at the moment I am wondering those people that are on here who fervently say we should worship on Saturday why so many of them don't answer my question?

You just asked that question today. Am I correct? There might be a few Sabbath keepers that wish to spend the Sabbath in prayer and reading His Word. They might choose to stay away from this board. Even so there aint that many of us compared to the sunday morners. We probably make up less than 1% of the people here.

God is to be worshipped 7 days a week. Sun-Sat. I think He is big enough to worship any day of the week and should be. This is like when Jesus was talking with the woman at the well. She said her people worship at this place and the Jews worship in Jerusalem. Jesus said that God is Spirit and those who worship must do so in Spirit and truth. God was not and is still not limited to a certain city...or country...so, it would stand to reason that He is not limited to any one day of the week.

oh....right.
she might be an Anglo-American Ten Lost Triber?

Jesus was sent in HIS MISSION over 3 1/3 years of Ministry to Israel.
He found the lost.
there were there. In Canaan.

He called out His sheep and His sheep heard His voice and they followed Him.
He had other sheep also [gentiles], and they heard Him (and do hear Him) and they become ONE FLOCK.

One Faith One Baptism One Lord One flock

this topic has been discussed all day... the law of the commandments is meant for the jews not the gentiles instead we have the holy spirit, and we suppose to worship on sunday because it is the day jesus rose up from the day so we give thanks for that, somewhere in proverbs talks about something similar can't remember the chapter
Really? So when G-d says for you and the foreigners that live with you... He did not mean to include non-Jews? That was an accident, right?

we know the name whereby men must be saved.
thanks.

also: in Christ there is no jew nor greek.
are you in Christ?

It is now past Shabbat. Shabbat is sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. That is is the time when G-d is off His throne and among His people. Worship anyday you choose, but keep the Sabbath (Shabbat) holy. This is from G-d Himself

Thats right Zone, the gentiles were the "other" sheep

MATTHEW 15 [24] But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the LOST SHEEP of the house of Israel.

Jesus said He was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel

JOHN 10 [14] I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. [15] As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. [16] And OTHER SHEEP I HAVE, WHICH ARE NOT OF THIS FOLD: Them also i must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

OTHER SHEEP I HAVE.....These “other sheep” are the gentile believers. Right Zone?

ISAIAH 56 [1] Thus saith the Lord, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for MY SALVATION IS NEAR to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. [2] Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. [3] Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the Lord, speak, saying, The Lord hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. [4] For thus saith the Lord unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; [5] Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. [6] Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, EVERY ONE THAT KEEPETH THE SABBATH from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; [7] Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. [8] The Lord God which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, YET WILL I GATHER OTHERS TO HIM, beside those that are gathered unto him.

YET WILL I GATHER OTHERS. Yes, the “others” are the gentiles. As plain as the nose on my face, these “others” are keeping Gods sabbath day. They have taken hold of His covenant. No way around it. So, have “many” come in the name of Jesus and decieved many as the bible said would happen? I reckon so. You must be keeping the sabbath in order to be saved to the kingdom. No doubt about it.

Exactly what "customs" make you uneasy? The Bible is clear that the feast days should be observed "until the end of time" Last I checked, that hasn't happened yet. You afraid you'll be asked to give up that pig meat? You'll never miss it! You'll be way healthier! G-ds laws are like a parent's rules. Meant to keep us safe and healthy, not meant to destroy our fun!

G-d's name is holy and not to be spoken lightly! And Yes, I am a Believer, there is ONE way to salvation through the Messiah. His Hebrew name, Yeshua, or Greek, Roman, Latin, whatever you call Him..... Jesus, Christ, Lord, Savior, Messiah, Ha Mashiach, Yeshua, etc... Only ONE way to the FATHER

Christ rose form the dead late Saturday afternoon about sunset...

Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

The decree went forth in 457BC. 69 weeks = 483 days. 483 days = 483 years (Num 14:34 and Ezek 4:6. Let's add 483 years to 457BC and we come to 27AD (there is no year zero). Christ's ministry lasted 3-1/2 years...

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

And this is born out by the eyewitness accounts of the Gospels.

So, fall of 27AD + 3-1/2 years brings us to the spring of 31AD. Christ was crucified on the Passover of 31AD. The Passover of 31AD was on Wednesday, April 25. Christ was entombed at about sunset on the Passover.

How long was Christ in the tomb?

Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Three days and three nights later Christ arose. From sunset Wednesday evening to sunset Saturday evening is three days and three nights.

Jesus Christ said the only sign He would give that He is the Messiah would be the length of time He was in the tomb, three days and three nights.
You need to talk to a real Jewish rabbi.

The Jews believed and still do, that any part of a day represents the whole day.

Friday - died on the cross and was laid in the tomb
Saturday - in the tomb
Sunday - in the tomb and rose from the dead.

Three days in the tomb. Therefore we celebrate the Lord's Day - which is the day Jesus rose from the grave, proving he had conquered sin and death by the power of God!
