In the Bible it prophesizes what the Devil will do (enter into the body of the anti-christ). Since the devil knows that this written about him, why doesn't he just sit back and do nothing, not enter the anti-christ's body, and make the prophesy wrong?

Nowhere does it say Satan will possess the antichrist.

well there is no where in the Bible that says, Satan will enter some ones body in the end....
It does indicate that Satan is coming as himself in person though. call him Antichrist if you like.
Rev 12:9 would be a good place to start.

Satan cannot do anything to anyone without permission from God. He is subordinate to God and cannot force believers to do anything.

Don't get me wrong, Satan can possess people, if they allow it. But this is not the question....

You must have picked up something from some one, at some time, some where . Nothing that can't be fixed if you ask God to fix it. an work at it.

Ok then, it says that will be loosed from his prison after the 1000 years to deceive the nations and prepare for war. What if he gets out and doesn't try to deceive anyone? He knows this is written, so why hasten his destruction in the Final days?

i consider pride and hate can be quite blinding even so much that you would not accept defeat even if it is written but would believe you were powerful enough to change the end.... and win the battle....

The other thing you forget is that God has already planned everything, he knows what is going to happen so he will make sure that what is written happens so satan does not have the power to change what is already planned.

Scripture does say that the Antichrist will be possessed by Satan.

Only two individuals were given the title of 'son of perdition' - Judas (past) and a man to come (aka 'man of sin,' who is in the world today). Just like Judas, he will be possessed by Satan.

Luke 22:3: "Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot"
John 6:70-71: "Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve"

The future 'man of sin' will get his power from Satan, who will control him. The antichrist's power will not be of himself.

Rev 13:2: "The dragon (Satan) gave him his power, his throne, and great authority"
Rev 13:4: "So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast"
Rev 13:5: "And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months"

As I understand it, when antichrist is possessed by Satan he will then set up the abomination of desolation.

Satan is on the losing side and he's doing plenty around the world to bring down as many with him as possible. You only have to look at the destruction around you.

I too am beyond trying to give Satan rational qualities.

He saw the glory of God and revolted rather than submitting, loving, and obeying.

This I will never understand though I believe it to be true.

I agree with your thoughts here. Not to mention, he wants to drag as many to hell with him as possible.

If we look at all the different beliefs concerning eschatology/end times, there is much confusion among Christians that maybe Satan is depending on this. Many think end time events have already taken place. He is proud enough to maybe believe he can beat the system, but God wins.

I wonder.... look at all the evil leaders from our past, like Hitler. Many believed he was the antichrist, in fact many believed he was demon possessed because the things he did to Jews was unthinkable to have come from a human being. If you look at how many leaders keep arising that everyone thinks is antichrist, maybe Satan is trying to fool everyone when they should be looking for the signs of the times. Somewhere in scripture Jesus said "don't be fooled" concerning these things. I forget where. (Please share it if you find it)

Satan is a counterfeiter and has been distorting truth from the beginning. In the garden he took God's word and distorted it, when he told Eve she would not die.

Our Heavenly Father knows ALL, and He is the Author of ALL. Satan is not different than any other creature in that he is created.

A watchmaker makes a watch, and he knows exactly how it will work, what it will do, and when it needs winding.

The Creator of all that is, is certainly far better than a watchmaker in His creating.

Just as He knows what mankind will do without being in consultation and compliance with His will, so He knows exactly what Satan, a creature also, will do. Our Father knows, and He is not so feeble as a seer or prophet in that He needs an outside source to know what has happened, is happening, and will happen. He does not predict; He knows. Once this is understood one has no reason to fear anything, for He has foretold us all we need know in His Word.

There is much more to come in the Kingdom. It is too glorious and joyous to even begin to describe. No one in the flesh is able to describe it. The closest would be the moment when the Holy Spirit first enters us and all becomes living forever, all that will survive the fire that is.

because Satan doesn't understand prophecy.

Satan is blinded to God's truth and His plans. Satan thinks he can conquer the world. Satan thought that by getting his children to cruxify Jesus he would win but God shows how wrong he was in that belief.

One thing to remember. Satan is in Christ's presence making accusations against the saints. trying to plead his case. Scripture says at that time he will be cast from heaven, and forbidden to return. He is going to be furious and take as many as he can with him/. Why? Because he knows prophesy and knows his time is short.

God would have to open His eyes and explain it to him.

In order to do that he would have to be filled with the Holy Spirit and become a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

At which point he would no longer be satan but changed into something else with a new name...

Why are these passages always overlooked?

Rev 1:1-3
The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, [SUP]2 [/SUP]who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Rev 22:6-7
The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.[SUP]7 [/SUP]“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”

Paul even states in Thess that evil has already started.
2 Thess 2:7
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way
