Oh..............................okay.
I used the wrong verse.

What he was saying is that the gospel isn't just something you know in your mind, but it convicts, converts, and changes the heart. The whole life of the believer is affected, and the gospel is deeply understood with that change.

All by the Spirit, if the Father grants repentance, not the flesh.

John 6:63-65 "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)65 And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”

That's pretty straight forward, for those that say it's their faith that saved them or allowed God's grace into their lives, that's not what Jesus' is saying. Wish I had one of those at a glance things, because here's a picture of the Trinity, The Son talking about the Spirit giving life by the Father granting it.

Judas was foredrained to betray the Lord, as foretold in Scriptures. Was that unjust of God? No, he didn't deserve mercy as we didn't.

"The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble."

Does election apply to the angels? Do they have freewill?

Yes, election did apply to the angels, there are verses that explicitly state that there were elect among them.

Let's define "free will" so there isn't a misunderstanding on our part:

God has endowed human will with natural liberty and power to act on choices so that it is neither forced nor inherently bound by nature to do good or evil. (Matthew 17:12; James 1:14; Deuteronomy 30:19).

Humanity in the state of innocence had freedom and power to will and to do what was good and well-pleasing to God (Ecclesiates 7:29). Yet this condition was unstable, so that humanity could fall from it (Genesis 3:6).

Humanity, by falling into a state of sin, has completely lost all ability to choose any spiritual good that accompanies salvation (Romans 5:6; 8:7). Thus, people in their natural state are absolutely opposed to spiritual good and dead in sin (Ephesians 2:1, 5), so that they cannot convert themselves by their own strength or prepare themselves for conversion (Titus 3:3–5; John 6:44).

When God converts sinners and transforms them into the state of grace, he frees them from their natural bondage to sin (Colossians 1:13; John 8:36) and by his grace alone enables them to will and to do freely what is spiritually good (Philippians 2:13). Yet because of their remaining corruption, they do not perfectly nor exclusively will what is good but also will what is evil (Romans 7:15, 18, 19, 21, 23).

Only in the state of glory is the will made perfectly and unchangeably free toward good alone. (Ephesians 4:13).

Chapter 9 of 2LBCF

So did they have free will? Some were on a conditional footing as that of Adam, while others an unconditional, in my humble opinion that I share with others. I don't know the details, simply because, they aren't mentioned in detail in Scripture. Where Scripture is silent, we must be silent.

Here's some funny Calvinist memes.
There's no good answer for the prayer dilema if you're arminian, we pray because we believe God supernaturally changes the hearts of a sinner, indepedent of their fallen nature will.

Why do you think some people born in christian families still need salvation?

Take me for example I have been going to church since I was born, but I didn't always have a heart willing to give 100 % of me to the Lord until later in life.

It's a supernatural work of the holy spirit to convict us of our sins and change our volition towards God and His glory, that we pray in our lives that we give 100 % of what we are and our times to God completely.

And sometimes the best ministry outreach is within the home. Men like Timothy, Augustine, John Newton, Spurgeon, et al, had godly parents who were used to help lead them on the road that eventually led them to the gospel.

When will you come to believe in the gospel? Put Calvinism aside for now, when will you come to faith?
