Regarding using this order also out of church (and I'm not trying to rebel against the Bible here, just to clarify)...

What about a man and a woman trying to learn from the Bible together? (outside of the church) ...To actually learn something, you both have to interchange ideas and suggestions, is that going against the rule? And you may say...let a man teach a man, but we know this can't always be possible, since some men don't have male believer friends. Im certainly not a man :) but I remember I only had a christian female friend in Mexico( where christianity is not the top religion) , from whom I learned a lot. Now, if I had been a guy who decided to convert too, and she were my only christian friend with whom I can learn more( and this actually happened with another friend) , should she have remained silent? There can be alot of circumstances when a man learns from a woman and there's no other option for the moment.

Or when an unbeliever man is learning from a woman? Most of my friends are unbelievers, and I sometimes receive questions about my faith, and they often come from men. I don't think God wants me to shut up in that case( and I haven't had that conviction inside of me neither), since they don't have any other person to ask to. I can't imagine saying'' sorry, you're a man, I can't answer your questions'' and then walk away. Of course I would recommend them to talk with an elder in church, but seeing that I don't attend a church right now, that's not possible for me, and seeing that they are my friends, they would feel more comfortable asking me than asking a stranger.

I'm certainly not trying to go against the Bible, I do believe a woman has to submit to the male authorities in church, but these are just my observations. I hope noone throws virtual tomatoes, carrots or potatoes at me haha :).
I believe you could tell your friends about Jesus without teaching. Just give them the facts. You do not have to teach or take authority to say something. Women shouldn't talk in church. But you could talk to your friends outside of church. Teaching usually requires more than just telling someone your testimony or how to get saved. You can even tell them what you believe without teaching. For example "I believe gay marriage is wrong" that's not teaching. Or "I believe that Jesus died for my sins", that's not teaching.

Just sayin ''I believe this is this, or this is that'' is usually not enough. I have curious friends, so I have to give them scriptures, explanations, etc. Just saying '' Abortion is wrong'' and refuse to say the reason is not very...christian, in my opinion.

Well the Bible says women should not teach men, so if that's what you are doing, you are disobeying the Bible. You should really explore what you can do without teaching because making excuses does not change the the fact that you are disobeying the Scripture.

Hmmm, how is showing scriptures disobeying the Bible? You are basically saying that proclaiming the gospel is disobeying the Bible when we are ALL supposed to do that.

but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect. 1Peter 3:15

In Genesis 1:27 it says, So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Have you ever wondered why a dove is used as the symbol for the Holy Spirit? In ancient times the dove was the universal symbol for the goddess. The Holy Spirit is feminine. She is the Holy Mother Spirit of God. The Israelites knew her as the Shekinah, or presence of God that dwelled in Israel first among tabernacle tents, then in the holy temple. So God has a female half. Women are responsible for creating life. We carry the baby in the womb for 9 months and go through the difficult painful agonizing process of giving birth. All you men do is have fun with a night of sex, some men never bother to marry the mother of their child, but a good Christian man should marry the woman before having sex with her. Being a dad is hard, a difficult responsibility, but being a mom is even harder.

As for Paul's "Shaddup your face" The verse was written for loud obnoxious Corinth women. Corinth was quite a wild and crazy town back then. The women were unruly. If you've ever seen ABC's TV show "The View, you'd know what it's like when a bunch of wordlly selfish rude women get together and all talk at once. Only 1 person should talk at a time in church. Worship needs to be orderly. Ask questions after the speaker, teacher gets through with his lesson.

WHy would God discrimminate against half his creation? God loves men and women equally. If a women is willing to serve, I'm sure God will accept her. I'm sure Paul did not mean women cannot talk at all in church. I am even for women preaching. WHy not? We must realize the Bible was written a very long time a go and some things in it are outdated. We must use discernment to decide what is outdated and what is still relevant for today's church.

Hi "LoveChild" is that you? Are you back with us after being banned under that old name?

If that is you, please try to be constructive rather than destructive, this time and keep from going off on an irrelevant tangent. It would also be good if you could reply to our questions rather than just ignore us. This is a forum for interaction with each other. It is not a place for you to spread your feministic religion.

Anyway, if it is you ie LOVECHILD then welcome back!

You know the Bible says you shouldn't teach men. So don't do it. There are plenty of things you could do without teaching.

It's sort of like being a passivist in the Army, you could still be in the Army. They wouldn't ever probably let me be a presbiter but I don't believe it's part of being a member that you have to agree with female pastors. There's not a test you take to be a member.

I have explained the root of these verses. The women in Corinth were talking while the minister/preacher was preaching, teaching the message/sermon. Only one person should speak at a time so worship is orderly and everyone can hear what the speaker is saying. Talking out of turn is rude and disrupts the service. I don't think God has a problem with women preaching.

I understand women and men are very different. We have different roles in the church and life, family and society. These days women have equality with men in most western countries. I know God created Adam first and Eve later, eh, saving the best for last! well, Eve was created from a rib bone around Adam's heart, man is the head of the family and church, and woman is the heart.

Perhaps it is better if women teach only women, and men teach only men. But there are things we can learn from each other, maybe not spiritual things. WOmen are more emotional, men are more physical, women might be considered weeker to the Devil because we are more emotional and sensitive, we think more. But remember the past..... women have been abused and used like slaves property, for millenia. Women had to fight hard to get their rights.

this is the internet.
if this was a church, i'd be gone.
don't worry. you won't see me at your church either.

another Five-Folder. no thx.
We are the church, wherever we are gathered. You have views, strong views, and you express them. Teacher, preacher call it what you will. By the way, i do believe in women leaders, even to the highest positions in the church. In Christ there is neither male nor female, jew nor greek. Just as a jew has no higher or lower place now since christ has come, nor do slaves and masters, or male and female. We need to recognise each other after the spirit not after the flesh. Those times are over. (this is teaching btw, on a public forum yes, but still teaching, and still in the house of God, if we are gathered, He is here.

I do not believe this is church. The Bible says women shouldn't teach men. I believe that means everywhere. That's where I believe Zone is wrong. Do not worry you are not the first one to notice something is wrong with Zone. Being a woman who teaches is not her only fault.

Jonathan, read Judges 4 some time. Deborah judged Israel. You don't think a little teaching was involved?

Seraphprincess is right. You are not. There is nothing wrong with women teaching.

The fact that Jesus did not select a woman to be an apostle speaks volumes.

What about,

1 Corinthians 14: 33-35
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission,
as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home;
for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

Although this is referred for those in church not CC so Zonest can say whatever she wantzz ;)
