Only The Moral Laws Of Love Abuse?

The Ten Commandments Are Gone?

Killing, Adultery, Honor Your Parents, Idolatry, Lying, Stealing, Cover?
If you love God with all your heart and mind, will you have other gods before Him? Will you make an image and worship it?

If you love your neighbour as yourself, will you commit murder, adultery, or theft? Will you dishonour your parents? Will you covet your neighbour's wife or goods?

Um, no. Christians aren't under the Law.

I was watching 'Noah-The Last Days' series on Amazon and am worried about my working on the Sabbath day. After watching part 2
which talks about the covenant God made with Noah, his people entered into the Arc which is symbolized as the covenant. Part of the covenant was to keep the Sabbath holy, or sanctify, that day with rest and not to work. I work nights Sundays through Wednesdays and am worried after
watching this video. It stresses not working on Sundays.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
I am in Australia at the moment....it is Saturday 1032 Am....and I am working and still saved.....we are not under the Law....and the disciples met the first day of the week....not the last!

So I guess if you love God with all your heart, you will keep the Sabbath seen in the 10 commandments tooooooo? :)

There are 10 Commandments right?

The early church was established on the 7th day sabbath, this commandment hasn't been revoked or replaced.

Thou shalt not murder, steal, lie, covet, adultery, honor mother father?

All the commandments are alive today :)

Acts 13:42-44KJV
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

According to scripture the Sabbath is on Saturday not Sunday. Based on your current work schedule you are all set in this regards. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

The new era of rests to support new creatures is the first day of the week .The day he walked out of the Tomb as a ceremonial law or shadow of our eternal rest.

It a commandment given as a parable hiding the meaning of faith in a ceremony .Not one of the moral laws but a shadow of the unseen .

there's no mention of sabbath in the Biblical account of Noah.
the covenant God made with Noah, He made with every living soul on the whole earth - and there was no requirement of Noah or any of the other creature; He only told Noah before making the covenant that all flesh is for food to him now, no mention of kosher/not kosher, but that he must not eat blood.
this is His covenant with Noah and all living souls: He will not ever again flood the whole earth. sabbath days are not in the account, at all ((Genesis 9))

i've never heard of that video you watched but from what you're telling me it's wrong. it's making things up that aren't in the Bible: sunday is not sabbath, not for Jews or anyone else, and there was no 'sabbath requirement' in the word God spoke to Noah when God made His covenant with all life.

  • Acts 13 is two apostles evangelizing Jews & proselytes in Antioch, not a meeting of the church.
  • Acts 13 is not the founding day of the church. that's ridiculous. for example there are 12 chapters of church history before this just in the book of Acts.
  • Pentecost ((Shavuot)) is an 8th day, not a 7th

how many times do we have to keep correcting you before you quite spreading lies?
what is this already, 7 times you've been corrected on repeating exactly the same false teaching, but you just keep right on going like it doesn't matter you're wrong? you won't repent even once?
this is getting pretty ridiculous for a guy who puts 'truth' in his name :cautious:

It was traditionally on the 7th day which is 8/21 sunset to 8/22 sundown.

I'm a bit iffy on sunset/sundown. It seems to me that "full dark" is sundown and owing to the time change each week that makes it slightly over 24hrs otherwise it isn't quite 24hrs.

The sunday thing is up for debate but nowhere that I can see was the sabbath "re-set" up as being on the 8th day (or day 1?)

Take it before the Lord. A day of rest and not pleasure seeking dedicating it to holiness in a concentrated fashion vs passively each day, may be something for you to consider. I don't want to get much into that because it's a pretty personal thing I feel.

There's a lot more to it and I've already posted about it so I'm not going to get into it.

Either way we aren't to judge people with respect to the Sabbath. Colossians 2:16. Also Mark 2:27 is important to note the meaning behind it. It's made for us not us for it.

Also Luke 6:5 and the preceding verses could tie into Mark 2:27 as well as healing on the Sabbath or if a situation arises Luke 14:5 (like getting called into work or an emergency or perhaps going to catch your dog who escaped the fence, etc.)

We aren't under the law as far as Sabbath breaking is concerned, however engaging the heart of why the law was given (and the lawgiver) is of import depending on personal burdens/relationship :)

also if youve been working too much, you can have an entire Sabbath year to make up for it.
Tenured professors can still take "sabbaticals" I do believe. I found myself using this word a lot and then switched to walkabout for a while in my mind when I felt that I needed a VERY long break to sort of be alone with the Lord and find my purpose. Maybe still do quite frankly.

Shadow of the unseen?

Does that mean it dosent apply to being observed like your claimed (Moral Laws)?
Ceremonial laws. Show and tell time, as shadows are used a parables .As to there meaning the gospel is concealed from unbelievers and used as a tool to give faith coming from the author to those who can believe given the power to. .

Its the sabbath law alone that uses two to represent the witness of God. two different parables as a reasoning teacher are found in Exodus and Deuteronomy that come to the same conclusion rest . Parables are not used with oral laws . Thou shall not murder is self explanatory . Do not lust another, steal and lie others

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Again different reasoning beginnings. . ending the same . Not used in moral law

Exodus "Hallow." Deuteronomy the keeping of faith guarding ones heart with the daily rest we have yoked with Christ making our burden lighter.

Deuteronomy 5:15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

I mean like the time of reformation when the things seen Kings in Israel the abomination of desolation was made to no effect.

The cerinimoinal law used as a figure or shadow of the unseen law was used to demonstrate to the whole world the unseen work of God's faithfulness purifying the hearts of mankind.

Hebrew speaks directly of the working of that parable. Working giving faith to the redeemed. Hiding the understanding from faithless mankind. The shadow imposed on them until the time of reformation. when lifted it shown their faithlessness . They hid avoiding the work of the gospel .

Note. . . . (words) my added opinion or point)

Hebrews 9:5-10 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: The
Holy Ghost this signifying, (metaphor) that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:Which was a figure (parable) for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

I would agree A day of rest and not pleasure seeking dedicating it to holiness in a concentrated fashion so that we can be heard on high .Walk in agreement . a day set aside that we can preach the gospel that loosens the bonds of sin.

I know it not the most popular but somehow or other adding the word week to usurp the word "rest" a non time sensitive word. It would seem to support those SDA who would turn a ceremonial law law as a shadow into a works righteousness they could perform as a form of self edification or lying wonder.

All translations that I have seen destroy the use of the word rest . Even the Youngs literal which defines it as it was inspired "sabbaths" not week in Mathew alone . The Greek did not even have the word week in the vocabulary.

Where the Young's translates rest as to the new era of rests. The first day. let there be light. . all others confuse the word rest and turn it into a time sensitive word week .

Matthew 28 Young's Literal Translation (YLT) And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,

Matthew 28 King James Version (KJV) 28 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

Scripture Strongly Disagrees.

The early church was established on the 7th day sabbath, this commandment hasn't been revoked or replaced.

(Sun)day observance finds its roots in Paganism, primarily (Sunworship)

Acts 13:42-44KJV
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

The Sabbath debate is one that has been continual.
1. Sunday is the first day
2. The best way to understand the Sabbath is to understand how Israelites kept, or are keeping it.
3. The argument that it was done away at the cross is mixed up. True the laws of shadows and types were finished at the cross. But is the Sabbath a one of those shadows. It was made holy and sanctified before sin, and is part of the Ten that we are told to keep today.
4. No one can keep the law to be saved, but we can keep it because we love Jesus. We can keep it because Jesus has saved us.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made
Mark 6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Jam 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

There are many verses and some laws have been fulfilled in Christ but grace does not give us an excuse to disobey God and ignore His commands. Roms 6:1, 7:7.
If there is no law today no one guilty of sin today.

The Sabbath was before sin Gen 2. And will be after sin Isa 66:22,23. Why remove it today when it is a wonderful blessing from God?
