Do you think the end of the world "soon" "theology" is affecting the way Christians interact with the "world" and society?

Since its been taught for hundreds of years, no. I think the bigger problem is the 'us vs them' mentality many Christians carry. Or mixing Too much with them and being overly influenced. Many will fall into one of these categories.

If we going down with the ship and our last order was to polish brass. We know we going to die and the last order still stands. Do you follow orders like a true sailor or abandon your position to possibly save your own butt by doing what you believe to be best?Your CO gives you only one last order to polish brass. We going down with this ship and we going to go down working until we cant work no more. Who is with me?

We'll work till Jesus comes. It's more of a question of are we getting anywhere with our efforts, or do we need to dust off our shoes and use our efforts to see if someone else will listen?

Yes a stagnant faith will help no one.

Psalm 127:1 (NASB)

1 Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.

I see it starting to happen, I think. There is a verse that predicts this...men will remain silent because the times are evil.
When you see the stiffening of the shoulders and the face looking like storm shutters have just rolled down over it, and a rolling of the eyes, I think it is best to not go on talking about Jesus with someone. You can plainly see they don't have the faith to be healed and don't want to hear another word. They're going to trample it and then turn and trample you. To go on will accomplish nothing at that particular time with that particular person.

I am struggling here with your examples. Pretty sure Jesus established the "us vs. them" standard for the Church. And I do agree that far too many believers become far too involved with the world and it's pleasures/teachings to suit me, but I'm pretty sure Jesus laid out (in His Gospel) the standard of us vs. them.

Now, we are to try and convince them to come to Christ........but Paul spoke of our NOT associating with them to the point that we live as they live. Could look up relevant Scriptures if need be.

Matthew 12:30 comes to mind right off......

Honestly, I do not see how your statement here applies to the question in the Poll?

What is the "sinking ship" you are speaking of?

Watch and be ready no one knows the hour that his master will return.

I for one was getting
cynical about it, because I was a new believer during the 88 reason the rapture could happen in 1988. I got heavy into studying eschatology, then I realized that to study God's work to know Himbetter is a far greater thing then trying to figure out whether it's pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, no-trib, premillinial, classic premillinial, postmillinial or amillinial. Give me Jesus, from how the threads on eschatology go around here I'm glad I'm not still wrapped up in all that. I still have questions, where before I thought I knew for sure no questions asked.

It makes me wonder when I read this verse and look at those threads. I John 2:10 "In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

Do I fear the world, as to the likes of Satan stepping up his world system order on earth in the end times? (Is this close to your question?) The answer is No! Will many begin to walk away from Jesus, absolutely!, just as was the case in Jesus' day with the disciples. But there is something we all must reckon with in the ways of our faith: "We are in the world ..." and that's exactly where God would have us be. And, ".....but we are not of it." This doesn't come in percentages, it is 100% not of it thru Salvation, the release of that former bondage, toward the freedom to serve Our Father in Heaven.

So, when Christians are getting beheaded for their faith, how does that change Scripture? Or His victory? Or His power? Or His Power in you? Or His assurance of Salvation? "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with ALL thy heart, and with ALL thy soul, and with ALL thy mind, and with ALL thy strength: This is the first commandment." And the second is like, namely this, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Would you want me to bail on you as a non-christian especially when the end is near to face the judgement of God?

End times will bring a horrid supply of circumstances towards a believer, some will fade from their walk with God, but others who overcome will see a unique thing happen as well: The dominant thing about a Saint is not-self-realization, but the Lord Himself; consequently a Saint can always be ignored because to the majority of eyes our Lord is no more noticeable in the life of a Saint than He was to men in the days of His flesh. But when a crisis (end times) comes the Saint is the one to whom men turn; and the life that seemed colorless is seen to be the white light of God.

We need to trust God will finish that which He started in all of us, and never fear the end times!

Hard to understand precisely what you are referring to in your wording here. If you are referring to the "rapture"?...Then, yes! Those who believe that have already long since stopped polishing brass! What's worse, is that they strive ever so ardently in trying to cause others, to stop polishing brass as well!

Most certainly. And the Lord is doing awesome things in these last days. Many miss the hearing of it because of the thought that we should suffer...that it His will.

We will suffer but not from His hand. We have an enemy but a defeated one. We are to stand and declare it! Not accept this.

Lol the world has been ending for 2000 years. We know its coming but we dont know when. This is why we must act now and do what we can. Do we stop eating because we know we will die any day old age, diseases, accidents, murder. No we keep eating because we know that eating sustains life. Just as preaching Gods words sustains spiritual life.

*A ready person never needs to get ready— he is ready.*

Unique among all books ever written, the Bible accurately foretells specific events-in-detail many years, sometimes centuries, before they occur. Approx. 2,500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2,000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter. We won't know the minute nor hour, and it will result in but a wink of an eye - Jesus' return. But the end times will be amongst us and already are....are we ready?

The don't polish the sinking ship mentality in my opinion is the "waiting for a kingdom" rather than proclaiming a kingdom and building it here to last for the blessings of future generations.
