Lets just put this out there first and foremost. God gives gives life, takes life, protects life, or in most cases free will that also brings evil, illness, and law of decay/ thermodynamics, and the law of causality. Basically God created you, sustains you, has given you a certain age to live to, and by either old age, evil or illness will shorten your life or live unto the God given age. The law of causality tells us everthing is created for a cause. A acorn is goal directed to become a oak tree. A embryo is goal directed to become its species. We are goal directed to be with our Father in Heaven. God draws all people because He wishes for all to be saved.
Sadly free will gives us the choice to rebell or surrender. We are all guilty and subjected to sin and death. This means since God is just and cannot accept sin, He basically doesn't owe us anything. God doesn't owe you life, but your existence is a blessing in itself and every second you breath is a blessing in itself. We all deserve death and when God kills like in the OT, God doesn't murder anyone. God can do with His creation as He wills.
But He is just and all knowing. So even if we dont understand, God justly had a reason and and He knows that taking that life could prevent future evils, who knows but God? We are goal directed, so our earthly home isnt the goal. If we are saved then our goal on earth is complete or if we are not saved, He may prolong His judgement that we all deserve and give us time to respond. If not, God may also strengthen the heart or reprobate the mind, gives us over to our own desires so that the full weight and consequences of our sin will turn us back to Him. So if God chose to righteously judge these people then it would only because its what they deserved. Just as Pharaoh hardened his hear the first 5 plaques then God gave him over completely and decided to make His evil life even harder. And eventually killed him in his rebellion and blood lust to bring about good and show the glory of God.
People got to remember to keep God as God the only standard of justice and morality. Without God or a supreme being that is outside of ourselves, without that no one has the grounds to make objective truth claims. Everyones moral judgements would only be subjective and opinionated truths making everyone a law unto themselves.
The reason we can reason, find truth and have a immaterial mind is because absolute truth exists. God exists and therefore who is the lump of clay to say to the potter why are you making me this way or why did you make that person that way. Why did you do this and that. Regardless if God doesn't exist then who cares but if He does who am I to tell God He Is morally wrong?
