I put this here because I know only a few read these.

I'm not trying to talkkkkkkk, lol, anyone into anything.

Not a tactic, not a passive aggressive dig, not a need to be heard or understood, not to keep the same debates alive, ugh nooooo!!
Yup, I am not even expecting anyone to reply or even read. < 100% truth!!

It is a personal praise report that has me taking a deep breath of peace, a deep breath of Yahweh.

About a year ago, I started frequenting the chat portion of CC. I would listen to the ongoing debate of well... we all know which one, lol. The level of passion that both sides exhibited really puzzled me. They appeared to have no room to consider the other verses and tie them in with the others. I mean both sides put forth the verses that they have to make their points.

Ugh, started to form within me... Wait how can both be right? All scripture must line up. He is NOT the author of confusion. I have said this over and over, which both sides also say.

Sighhhhhh...

I also found that some have been making their cause for a long time, so often when folks would ask questions, they felt (in my perception) that there was an agenda, like it was just a tactic to prove the other side. I kept hitting brick walls.

The Lord kept showing me in different ways that I was looking in the wrong place for answers.

We have warnings and we have words like persevere and overcome, over and over. We also have He is the author and finisher, that He preservers, that He is faithful, also over and over. We have verses that have one side showing we fall away, and we have other verses showing He keeps us and nothing and no one can take us.

I started digging in more, because I felt it necessary more than ever to find harmony within ALL the verses.

I was thankful for my new found desire to dig in even further, but also frustrated to the point of fear, wondering was I really saved. I eventually started hanging out more in the forums, but quickly found the same ongoing feuds were here as well.

I saw folks so adamant at the need to pick a side. I felt a greater desire, as I already said, to understand why folks get so upset, so quickly, at even asking questions, bringing forth the other verses to consider. I also realized like political parties, no matter how right or wrong the position is, hypocrisies and impatience went all ways. I knew reactions and tendencies presented had no bearing on who is right.

I quickly realized that the difference folks have comes down to trusting Him or ourselves, when it comes to the perseverance. I was one of those, having been raised Pentacostal, that was of the notion I keep myself or I fall away.

Well, some were patient and pointed to verses, and helped bring some clarity, they gave me things to consider. But those same ppl, also were willing to look at both sides and point me to verses. They told me to keep praying and seeking His input as I read for myself.

I kept going back and telling Him to help me, to please reveal as I read His word. I finally surrendered to His timing, to His will, to His way, no matter what.

Now wait...

let me say that finally, I believe every warning, and every if are a blessing, and are God's way of keeping us.

You can say that I'm side stepping, flip flopping, people pleasing, going from one side to the next, being tossed to and fro. I really don't care anymore what man thinks, my settled estate or lack thereof is between me and God. I just don't want to cause stumble to anyone, including myself.

Well today in church, using our study of Jonah, my pastor put all the warning verses forward and showed us, with scripture how they tie together with God's many promises showing how His true people, are kept. I had such an aha moment today, to the point of tears. The verses with warning are obviously His design to help us persevere… Romans 11:17-24; Hebrews 2:1-4.

John 17:6-12 The Lord Perseveres…

His words of action, putting fear in our hearts so we will stay His. As in Jeremiah

And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
Jeremiah 32:40 KJV

I had come to the conclusion awhile back that Salvation drives obedience, not the other way around, but still wasn't settled with the warnings.

I kept thinking...if I wasn't considering them, obedience wasn't important enough and how can I reconcile the warnings with all the word of eternal security?

Bam!!!

He was faithful once again. He opened my mind to understanding, even with some of the same verses I had already examined over and over again. I now don't have to disregard some of the scriptures to accept others. I am sure others on both sides are not doing negating either. I hope not.

God perseveres with His people…

It is amazing to see how God did so with Jonah. Many scriptures put forward this truth. God finishes what He starts, including our salvation. Perseverance does NOT MEAN that christians are exempt from spiritual danger nor does it mean that Christians are kept from falling into sin. It does mean those born again are brought to the "finish line" by God's grace.

Our security is not based on our ability or strength, but on God's.
John 10:7-15, 10:24-30

God persevered with Jonah by different means such as the wind, the storm, the lots cast by the sailors, the fish, and then God called Jonah the second time.

So for me, I finally find harmony within the scriptures, and even comfort in the warnings, for their stirring within, causing us to examine our hearts, and in and of itself, the stirring, is evidence of His work within.

Does this mean, I can finally pick a side, do I now understand why people feel it is justified to be impatient or unkind, for the cause of God.

As usual, in my case, yes and no…

I pick a side, yes. Him and His truth, every time!!! Because of that, though, I cling more to that which lies within His truth...Love, humility, mercy, kindness, patience, obedience; all those matter to those who are His. None of us are perfect, so we believers trust, in all ways, in the One who is.

I like this quote…

I am still open to His revealing, I have in no way have it all figured out.

Thanks to the Rock of Ages, however, I have never felt felt more settled.

Thank You my Lord. Wow, you are so AMAZING, so WORTHY to be PRAISED.

Surprise! Someone entered your forum and actually read your post! ME!!
What drew me in was the title......Rambling Rose. See my name? I thought it was all about me and how I ramble too much....LOL. Not really, well, yes I do ramble, but I didn't really think that was what this was about. I'm pretty new here so I don't know exactly what the conflict was you were referring to, and I don't really want to know. In real life, at church, home, work, shopping, etc. or online in chat, email, FB, where ever, I tend to evade certain kinds of conflicts, one being religion. If I see an argument going on about what we should believe, and people are getting upset with one another, I just quickly move along. I know there are many differences. I know that God does not make everything clear to us. And I know God does not want to see us fighting. I think we all need to decide for ourselves, whether it be from how we were raised, from our own study, or whatever. The only thing that truly matters is that we call on the Lord Jesus to save and forgive us. Then one day we will all rejoice in Heaven with Him, and we will know what we need to know. Conflict among the Christian family is never good, and does not bring glory to God, which is our purpose. I am so glad that you dug in, asking God to lead you to the answers you needed, and you have come to peace with it. May God continue to guide and bless you.
PS.....You rambled more than me....LOL
