Luke 12:39-56 That servant that made not ready

39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not have left his house to be broken through. 40 Be ye also ready: for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.

This is all the rage now. Would Hillary Clinton have had a better response to the pandemic? Past presidents are coming forward and saying they had a plan, they would have prevented this from happening. Biden and Obama are castigating Trump for not taking responsibility for this happening on his watch. If only they had known the thief was coming! So much for the NSA and CIA and all the other agencies which were supposed to warn us. Should give you pause to see so many Christians mobilizing to “Stop the Steal” when the Lord prophesied about this happening at the end of the age. The word Passover actually means that the Lord stood over the house to protect it from the thief. God protected us, so you also should be ready, loins girded, ready to leave.

41 And Peter said, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even unto all? 42 And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall set over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath.

I have heard Christians say they don’t pay any attention to prophecy. You can’t know the day nor the hour, so what is the point? How are you supposed to know when to give them their food in due season? Simeon and Anna didn’t know the day nor the hour, that doesn’t mean they ignored the prophecies. They were ready, loins girded, lamps lit, and ready to open to the Lord the minute they saw Him. And they gave the people their portion of food in due season.

45 But if that servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not, and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the unfaithful.

I will not dare to say this about anyone. Already I have been accused of a whole lot of things I have never said. It is Jesus who is saying this, not me! I will point out there are many Christians who rebuke other believers for talking about the rapture, the signs, and the prophecies.

47 And that servant, who knew his lord’s will, and made not ready, nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes; 48 but he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more.

I like this term “made not ready”. The minute I realized this was the end of the age I began “making ready”. Other people are going stir crazy from being cooped up in their house for so long. I am so thankful for this time, it gives me a chance to “make ready”.

49 I came to cast fire upon the earth; and what do I desire, if it is already kindled?

Have you ever made a bonfire? It can take a full day to properly prepare for a good bonfire. Think of the fires we saw last year in California, Australia and Siberia as the fact that this bonfire has already been kindled. When you prepare a bonfire you don’t simply prepare the wood, you also prepare large vessels of water. Most people use this water to keep the fire from getting out of control, after they light the wood. Elijah is the only one I know of who used the water before the wood was lit.

50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

Two competing pictures. Baptism is to immerse with water, similar to Noah’s flood, and a type of Jesus passing through death. However, we have been promised that God would not judge the world again with water but the next time it is with fire. Jesus proclaimed the judgement on this world. He was then immersed in 12 buckets of water. Not just dead but really, really dead. Rising from the dead kindled this fire. At the end of this age fire will fall from heaven, just like the bonfire that Elijah built.

51 Think ye that I am come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 for there shall be from henceforth five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 They shall be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother in law against her daughter in law, and daughter in law against her mother in law.

The gospel of peace refers to peace with God, not the Satanic system. We are not here to make peace with those who rob widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers.

54 And he said to the multitudes also, When ye see a cloud rising in the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it cometh to pass. 55 And when ye see a south wind blowing, ye say, There will be a scorching heat; and it cometh to pass. 56 Ye hypocrites, ye know how to interpret the face of the earth and the heaven; but how is it that ye know not how to interpret this time?

Atheists are the biggest hypocrites. I studied geology in college and in graduate school. Science is all about how to interpret the face of the earth. Atheists use science continually to dispute with those about the Bible. They love to claim that the account of Noah is not true until you present the scientific observations on the face of the Earth that confirm the account. Then it becomes clear they don’t care about the evidence, they play dumb. For example, how do scientists know that the flood waters were about 40 meters deep? You can calculate this from the ripple marks. The ripple marks from the flood were so big that we didn’t even know they were ripple marks until we flew over them in an airplane. How do they know that the meteorite that struck the Indian ocean was at the same time as the end of the last ice age and the time of Noah’s flood? Little sea shells from the bottom of the ocean were washed up onto Madagascar in the Tsunami, creating thousand foot high walls of sand called chevrons. We have carefully catalogued sea shells, we know how old they are and we know they are from the deep ocean. It is the same with this time, the Bible has many words concerning this time.

Matthew 24 -- Five signs of His coming

V.14 -- And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.

the gospel of the kingdom is preached to the whole world. This is via the internet, youtube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. The pandemic has played a vital role in pushing Christian fellowship online. 2,000 years ago it was a key step in the ultimate goal that the Father’s name would be hallowed on Earth as it is in heaven. The gospel going worldwide with power preceded WWI, there is no better way to move the age than to preach the gospel of the kingdom.

V. 15 -- When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place.

Temple is rebuilt and Antichrist is in the temple, which will signal the start of the Great tribulation. We are not there yet. First we will need the UN to approve the peace treaty giving Israel authority over Jerusalem. That will be the official start to the last seven years, the tribulation. Then they need to rebuild the temple, that would be a very great trumpet blast to the entire Body of Christ. They cannot dedicate the new temple without sacrificing a Red Heifer. It took many years to get one, but Israel now has two Red Heifers that the priests have certified.

V. 27 -- For as lightning flashes in the East and is visible to the West --

CNN and satellite TV, the signals are transmitted at the speed of light on fiber optic cables. This is like setting up everything for the inauguration. When you see them setting up the stand for the President’s inauguration you know the day is near. CNN and the Gulf war was a dress rehearsal. That was the first example of lightning flashing in the East and shining unto the West.

V. 28 -- Wherever the carcass is there the vultures will be gathered together.

Eagles and vultures are both in the same family: Accipitridae. During the first Gulf war all the vultures, all the birds of prey were arrayed against Iraq in the desert. Iraq was the carcass, the coalition forces were the vultures.

V. 32 -- Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh;

The fig tree is a national symbol of Israel, when the nation was reformed in 1948, when they recaptured Jerusalem in the six day war, and when the peace treaty is signed by the UN giving them authority over Jerusalem that will signal the start of the last seven years of this age. They are working on this peace treaty at this very moment. When the UN signs that treaty it signifies the beginning of the 70th week, the last 7 years of this age, commonly referred to as the Tribulation.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are decreed upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy. 25 Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the anointed one, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troublous times. 26 And after the threescore and two weeks shall the anointed one be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and even unto the end shall be war; desolations are determined. 27 And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate.

The context of the entire prophecy is Jerusalem. One week means 7 years. Daniel says that 69 weeks equals the time from the decree until Jesus would be crucified. It was 483 years from the time that the decree was made to rebuild Jerusalem until the day Jesus was crucified.

The Rapture is not one of these five signs:

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only. 37 And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 40 Then shall two men be in the field; one is taken, and one is left: 41 two women shall be grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not on what day your Lord cometh.

He compares the rapture to the day that Noah entered the ark. You don’t know the day or the hour of the rapture, and when it happens it is now too late to enter the ark. Stop wasting your time with all this “pre trib”, “post trib” trivial debate. However, Noah prepared for that flood and when the time came He and his family entered the ark and shut the door. They warned the people, they were mocked and ridiculed, but then he was vindicated as a man of faith.

What is the Apostasy?


2Corinthians 11:3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

The apostasy is being led away from sincere devotion to Christ. It is a ritual, an act, a pretense. And you are led away from pure devotion to Christ. It is mixed, it is impure, it is compromised.

We can't be filled to the measure of the fullness until we know this love

Ephesians 3:19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Where does love come from?

1Timothy 1:5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.


Have you been filled to the full measure of the fullness? So then,

Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Signs prior to the Pre tribulation Rapture given in Luke

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

Many feel this was fulfilled by the two great world wars that led to the formation of Israel and a number of other Middle Eastern countries.

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

We have had a number of "great earthquakes" this last century. In 1920 an earthquake in China killed 273,000 people. In 1976 another earthquake in China killed 242,000. In 1960 we had a monster earthquake in Chile, about 100 times more powerful than the earthquakes in China. In 1964 we had a monster earthquake in Alaska and in 1952 a monster in Kamchatka. In 2004 we had the monster earthquake that resulted in a Tsunami in Indonesia. In 2011 we had the monster earthquake in Japan. In 2018 we had another large earthquake and Tsunami in Indonesia. Then consider the famines, China in 1958 had the great leap forward which resulted in 10-30 million people dying. Soviet Union in 1921 had nine million die, Ukraine in 1932 had seven million die, North Korea, Bengal, and Cambodia also had major famines. In the 21st century we have seen a host of "food crisis" in Africa and North Korea. As far as pestilence goes the Spanish Flu and Covid19 would certainly rank at the top of that list as well as HIV AIDS. For perspective Covid 19 ranks 6th on a list of plagues in the last two thousand years, HIV/AIDS is fourth, and the Spanish flu is 2nd. Three of the six biggest plagues in the last two thousand years have been in the last century.

As for "fearful sights" Fukushima was a fearful sight and Chernobyl was a fearful sight. Not only so but the nuclear bombs in WWII were a fearful sight to the entire world causing them to have the "duck and cover" exercises in schools.

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

Before all these suggests we are talking about Nero and the persecution of the early church.

14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

For example, Saint Stephen.

16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. 18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish. 19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

We have seen this as well over the last two thousand years, whether we are talking about Caesar Nero or even the Holocaust which killed millions of Christians as well as Jews.

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

There are a lot of reasons to put the US and Israel together in these prophecies. The US was clearly formed as a place for God's people (unlike any other nation other than Israel). This is why I think that seeing Washington DC compassed with armies was a major sign of the Lord's soon coming. This prophecy began by giving us the things we would see in the church age, then He jumped to the apostolic age, and finally we see that the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 prefigures the Great Tribulation.

The Day of the Lord is upon us

We are seriously close to some event. Look at just a smattering of news stories from the past couple of weeks:

1. This story. A horrible felon let loose on a ridiculous bail amount, kills as many as he can with a car.
Lord we pray to the one Who executeth justice for the oppressed; Who giveth food to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners; Use this to wake up people so they would be loosed from Satan's grip and turn to you.

2. A young female singer in Daytona Fla calls for a fan to come on stage. Lays him down, pulls her pants down, and urinates in his face in front of thousands of fans. No charges filed.
2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith Jehovah of hosts, then will I send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. 3 Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and will spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and ye shall be taken away with it. Lord we repent for not hearing your word, for not laying it to heart, for not giving glory unto your name.

3. Biden appoints an actual communist for the treasury dept. who wants to abolish all private bank accounts, that will be controlled by the government.

Malachi 3:9 Ye are cursed with the curse; for ye rob me, even this whole nation.


4. A professing male transgender is allowed in a school restroom in Virginia, and promptly sexually assaults a girl.
Know your abominations: Ezekiel 16:20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured.

5. The god/man Anthony Fauci not only says you will have to get a vaccine booster every six months, but says infants and toddlers will be getting injections by Spring.
Numbers 21: 6 And Jehovah sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 7 And the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, because we have spoken against Jehovah, and against thee; pray unto Jehovah, that he take away the serpents from us.

Genesis 16 The God who sees

1 Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian slave named Hagar; 2 so she said to Abram, “The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her.” Abram agreed to what Sarai said. 3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian slave Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. 4 He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. 5 Then Sarai said to Abram, “You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my slave in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the Lord judge between you and me.” 6 “Your slave is in your hands,” Abram said. “Do with her whatever you think best.” Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her. 7 The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. 8 And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?”

“I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. 9 Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” 10 The angel added, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.”

11 The angel of the Lord also said to her: “You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard of your misery. 12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”

13 She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” 14 That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered.
15 So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne. 16 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.

This is a great story, it tells us a lot about Hagar and a little about Ishmael. Hagar is visited by an Angel, she gets a prophecy concerning her son who has yet to be born, and she learns that God sees her. As a rule we consider Sarah to be wonderful woman of faith, however here she is still called Sarai, not yet transformed to Sarah. Peter holds Sarah up as an example for all wives, but despite that the Bible never holds Sarai up as an example of a great boss. She was abusive to Hagar who was pregnant, and the Bible does not deny this. The angel tells Hagar that God has heard her misery. I do think that her saying that God is the God who sees refers to God seeing her misery.

However, I think this is important for us today, yes, God sees, He saw her misery, but He also saw where all this started. “When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress”. This isn’t just Sarai being petty, she complains to Abraham who also was aware of Hagar’s behavior and doesn’t try to defend her. If you despise your boss what do you think is going to happen? Yes, God is the God who sees. He saw that you were treated badly by Sarai and he saw that you provoked this by despising her.

From this we can learn about Ishmael.

12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”

If Ishmael is a “donkey of a man” then his mother must be a donkey. “His hand is against everyone and everyone’s hand against him”. “He will live in hostility toward all his brothers”. I find it very striking that the maid servants of Leah and Rachel both had children to Jacob and we don’t see this kind of drama. So what really hit me was this verse “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” This word “submit” is not used very often in Genesis, in fact this is the first time. The next time is with Pharaoh telling Joseph that all of Egypt will submit to him. I have no doubt that Hagar was treated badly, I suspect you get on the wrong side of Sarai she could make your life hell. But I very much doubt that Sarai treated Hagar (an Egyptian) worse than Joseph was treated by his brothers (who sold him into slavery probably the same case with Hagar) and by Joseph’s master in Egypt who had him imprisoned on false charges.

God is the one who sees, He is also the one who deals with us. Sarai was still being dealt with and was in the process of being transformed into Sarah. Joseph goes through the same trials, though worse, but with a very different attitude and a different result.

his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him

I feel this is a great principle. If the problem is your boss then you will not have trouble with other bosses and other jobs. But if the problem is with every boss and every job, then the problem is with you, not them. I watched the Dog Whisperer and he would often talk about the power of the pack. The pack will instantly realize if they have a problem dog or not. He would bring a new dog to the pack to quickly learn what they thought. If every dog in the pack is against this new dog then he knows this dog is a problem.

We are seeing the same thing play out in front of our eyes right now. This cancel culture is described as "eating their own" though I think the more appropriate response is that "their hand is against everyone and everyone's hand against them". They are so focused on the offenses, any offense, even something from 20 years ago, even some girl goes to a high school dance twenty years ago and that is enough to set them off. They are not acting like Joseph, they are acting like Hagar.

Think about BLM, they were protesting at the Rittenhouse trial, they wanted him convicted of murder and yet the evidence was overwhelming that it was self defense. So then they said "if it was a black boy he would have been killed". What are they saying? Are they protesting the injustice of a black youth being treated unfairly in the court so therefore this white boy should be killed? Rittenhouse did not shoot any blacks, only three white men, all of whom were felons and all of whom were trying to kill him. It is as though BLM is against everyone.

There is an Anti Gospel

There is a common misconception among Christians and that is that the gospel is "the good news". It is the good news for creation which is groaning for the revelation of the sons of God, it is the good news to those who have received Jesus work of redemption, it is even the good news for people who obey the moral laws of God without actually receiving the work of Jesus done on the cross. But at the same time it is not good news for everyone.

Joseph was the "Master of the dreams". Now for the cup bearer that was good news, but what about for the Baker? Joseph was also given the name Zaph Naph Paaneah which means "Savior of the world" and for the Egyptians that was good news. But if Joseph was made prime minister what about the guy who got replaced?

Moses was a type of Christ leading the Jews out of slavery and into the good land. That was "good news" for them. But what about those people who lost their slaves? What about Pharaoh's armies that got buried in the Red Sea? What about all those families that lost their firstborn?

We read Esther and cheer for the underdog, we cheer when Esther and Mordecai win. But their winning meant that Haman and his sons lost.

Now many might think, this is obvious. Well if it is obvious then it should also be obvious that there are those who are fighting against the gospel. Not just when they get caught, tried and hung at the Nuremberg trials but even more before they get caught. In other words what you see as catastrophic, lets say the Oklahoma bombing, or the assassination of JFK or even 9/11, you see these that way because you are looking through the lens of the gospel. But what about the lens of those who are fighting against the gospel, how do they see it?

Hitler was an elected representative with a very small percentage of the vote of the German people. But he manufactured events that allowed him to get more power. For example he claimed the communists were destroying Germany, then they got some poor mentally challenged communist and framed him for the Reichstag fire. Instantly Hitler's ravings seemed to be "prescient". The formula is relatively simple, you argue about a problem that is insignificant or trivial, then you create a false flag event that makes it look like you are insightful and all the other politicians are clumsy oafs, then the people look to you for the solution, and the solution is to give you more power. Make Hitler the Chancellor, suspend certain laws, institute martial law, nationalize the police, etc.

There is an "anti gospel" which is the Machiavellian strategy to keep the 1% as the 1%. Think about it, if your gospel is to free the slaves that sounds great to everyone except the slave holders. If your gospel is to break the bonds that have us imprisoned, that sounds great to everyone except Pharaoh which uses prison labor to build his kingdom. The good news for the 99% is not the same as the good news for the 1%.

Democracy was a "good idea", an interesting "experiment". Why would they say that, Democracy is real isn't it? Well the 1% knew that if they control what you hear they can control what you think. If they control the school and the media you will do what they say. It is not hard to buy up 500 representatives, so even though they can't control 350 million people so what, cut you off from the business of governing, then buy out 500 key people and it won't matter.

We figured in a Democracy no one would want to fight a war unless it was to protect our country from attack. Is that why we fought the Vietnam war? Were we really afraid the North Vietnamese were going to attack the US? What about the Gulf wars, were we really afraid of WMD's? Did our government really believe Saddam Hussein, a secular ruler trying to hold together a variety of religious factions was behind an attack from a religious extremist? Were all of our police actions which for the most part damaged our international reputation, were they really about being a peacemaker or was it about power and influence?

Why is it that dictators are so paranoid they have to know what every person is saying and thinking? People who have nothing to hide are not paranoid. People who are not planning atrocities and genocide are not paranoid. Haman was paranoid, Pharaoh was paranoid, the Baker was paranoid.
