What a promise, continued
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
My mom had a stroke and I was four hours away from the hospital. As I was driving there I was praying and I told the Lord "If you will you can heal her". Immediately I heard the question, since when did the Lord ever "not will to heal someone"? I immediately realized that expression was an expression of unbelief, repented and prayed for Him to heal my mom. When I get to the hospital one side of her was paralyzed and she couldn't speak. She had had a stroke in the middle of the night, since they didn't know how long it had been they couldn't give her a certain medicine that might have helped eliminate the clot. My two brothers were also there and we went to one of their homes for the night. The next morning we returned to the hospital and my sister calls on the phone and is distraught because she won't ever be able to "talk normally to our mother again". I told her she could talk normally to our mother right now and handed the phone to my mom. She had completely recovered and was talking normally.
Another time, before this, my father was rushed to the hospital. He had leukemia and was about to die. They figured he would not make it through the night. Again I had the four hour drive where I was able to pray. When I get there my father was desperate, he hadn't written a will and told me he needed time so he could write the will. He looked terrible, the doctors told us they thought he wouldn't make it through the night, but I thought it was a very reasonable request that the Lord would grant. The next morning he was in great spirits, looked fine, and met with a lawyer all day. It took them a few days to hammer out the details, get it signed and notarized, etc. He lived another two weeks before dying.
