The flood is about to come
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Whenever someone is caught doing evil they claim that there are special circumstances, they talk about how they were put into a tough position, they had to choose between their job or the crime, etc. There was a congressman who revealed he had been invited to orgies in Washington DC and they drummed him out of Congress because he wouldn't go along and they portrayed him as having mental problems. So you can see how others might also want to say something but seeing this man destroyed they are reluctant. Everyone gets tempted, everyone is threatened, I don't want to hear about how you were worried about this or that. You should know that this way leads to destruction, you don't want to take it, who cares what they are threatening, they aren't threatening eternal damnation.
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
I am going to guess that since everyone gets tempted, everyone gets a chance to take the narrow way. This word "find" can refer to finding something after a diligent search or finding something after happenstance, or stumbling across something. Here is the problem, the gate is very narrow, it is very restricting, you look at that gate and say "I think I'll pass" or "let's look for another way". The only way you will find this gate is if you are actually interested in finding "the way that leads to life". The only way you would be looking for that is if you fear God more than you fear men.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Suppose some people come to you and say they want to make you a congressman. Sounds good! You get a good job, good benefits, good pay, respect, and the job is real simple. You simply say "Aye" when they want you to say aye. Just remember, if it is too good to be true, then it is too good to be true.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
This is the key point. If you looked at a man who was rich, had a luxury car, two houses, and beautiful wife would you think that is the kind of fruit you want? Why not, right? But as you get to know him you discover he is "fast and loose" with the truth. Would that give you pause? You also learn he is an adulterer. Wouldn't that tarnish the whole fairybook marriage? If you learn more you discover that he is under investigation for crimes, and these crimes he has committed. So yes, right now he has the cars and houses, but for how long? The more you look the more you see that he is sitting atop a giant bonfire that is about to be lit. Do you still want these fruits for your own life?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
There are people who go their whole life, raise a large family, live honestly, don't have all that "bling" but they have real friends, strong family, and a legacy of an honest life. They bring forth good fruit. What we are seeing with Joe Biden, and with Bill Clinton and Barak Obama and all those who flew on the Lolita express, that is not everyone. For every tree bringing forth evil fruit you can also find a good tree bringing forth good fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
If you walk according to the Lord and according to the Spirit within, you can't bring forth evil fruit. Also, those women who have trouble with men, know this, a corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit. Stop lying to yourself that you will "change" him.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
This is a fact. This is human history. Why would you want to invest your life with a tree that does not bring forth good fruit? In the end you get cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
You aren't going to know them by their looks, or by their clothes or their car or their job or their watch or gold jewelry, etc. You shall know them by their fruits. There is nothing wrong with being impressed by the Stock Broker who has the nice car, nice house, and fat paycheck. But if you get to know him and discover he is a liar, he is a crook, and he is an adulterer. Then you should know him by his fruits, that guy is heading to hell.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Yes, even if he pretends to be a good Christian, talks about the Bible, goes to church each week, the guy can still be a fraud. Liars lie, so of course they can lie about being a Christian.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Notice how the liars and cheats only do "wonderful works". Are any of them saying "Lord, have we not gone to prison for your name, and didn't we sacrifice everything for your name? Because of your name we were persecuted, reviled, and mocked. No they don't pay any price to be a Christian. As long as they are casting out devils, doing wonderful works, and being praised and glorified they are happy to lie about being a Christian.
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
When we are suffering we can also experience "the fellowship of His sufferings". That is when we get to know the Lord and He gets to know us.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Building your house on a rock is hard work. It takes time, involves digging, and is costly. I watched a short video, just a couple of minutes, of Mike Tyson training. He was demonstrating his footwork involved in setting up a punch. I took one look at that and said "no way you get into a ring with a trained fighter". That footwork was building his house as a fighter on a rock.
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
How many of us view our Christian life as though we were getting into the ring with heavyweight champions? How many dug down to the rock for our Christian life so that when floods come they could stand? The flood is about to come.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Right now we are witnessing the fall of the house that Joe Biden built, and the fall of the Deep State and the fall of the apostate church. Great will be the fall of them.
