Luke 16:1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

The word of God is living. This word applied to the religious leaders, the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the Herodians, at the time of Jesus. This is what happened, they were accused, they did waste the Lord's goods, and their stewardship was taken away. However, it can apply to all human governments throughout history. But those examples are illustrations for us, this should apply to Christians who are not sharing their testimony, who aren't preaching the gospel, who aren't praying. They are wasting the time given to them, they are wasting the work done in them by the Holy Spirit. This story is illustrating spiritual truths with things that we can see in the natural.

5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

What is the golden rule: treat others as you would have them treat you. This man sees he is about to be thrown out into the streets so he treats those in the street in debt with mercy in hopes that when he joins them they also will treat him with mercy. The power of godliness is forgiveness. But true forgiveness operates through mercy.

8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

Right now we can see that the US dollar is about to collapse and our economy will collapse. But you still have that money if only for a short while. Use it to preach the gospel of grace which involves mercy and forgiveness. If you do that you will be welcomed into eternal habitations.

10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

The money you have been given, the talents you have, the testimony, all these things have been given to you by God. You are to be faithful in using these to advance the gospel. Perhaps the only testimony you have is that you fear God. Well use money and assets to advance the kingdom and then that will become a testimony that you are faithful to God.

11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Do you get that? You pray for power in the word, in the Spirit. Power to cast out demons and heal the sick. You want God to trust you with the true riches but you haven't been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, why would God trust you with true riches?

12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

Each of us is a steward of things that belong to others. If you work at a company you are a steward of the things that belong to that company. If you aren't faithful with their things why would God trust you with His things?

13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

There you go, you have many who profess to serve God but in reality they are serving mammon. When the Lord speaks to you to do something do you argue that this does not make sense financially and so you override Him? That means you claim to be serving Jesus but in reality you are serving mammon.

14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Pray for God's eyes. You may think the vacation home or the swimming pool or the fancy car are "highly esteemed" and don't even realize they are an abomination in the sight of God.

16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Today in the churches they make it sound so simple to enter into the kingdom of God. But read this and it sounds like it will cost you all that you have to. make it into the kingdom of God. This is the dichotomy. Many are called few are chosen. It doesn't cost you anything to be forgiven of your sins, the Lord paid that, but it costs you everything to enter into the kingdom of God.

We have a problem with the destruction of the Temple in 70AD

I believe that the Jews were given the "sign of Jonah" which included Jesus being in the belly of the Earth" for 3 days and 3 nights and also to Him resurrecting from the grave and then with his disciples going about the city preaching repentance for 40 years.

The problem of course is that we count the 40 years from the crucifixion and the temple was destroyed on the 9th of Av. If you read the account of Jonah he walked a half days journey into the center of the city and then began to preach. That really matches the spirit being poured out on Pentecost about halfway into the year. If you understand Pentecost to be the 8th of Av it would mean that it was 39 years and one day. That means it is like what Paul said "Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one." The limit to the stripes is forty, so they give 39 just in case they miscount. So it would seem that although the preaching was for forty years it was only 1 day into the fortieth year and so was much more like "forty stripes save one".

Let's read this section again, because these verses all go together

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

In Mark it says they came down from Jerusalem to declare this judgement. This is the basis for the "unforgivable sin". By that we know that from this point judgment was declared on Jerusalem. It is very likely that this took place on the 9th of Av a little more than six months before the crucifixion. It is certainly an escalation and the ministry in Judea was the last six months of Jesus' ministry.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

This is the fundamental problem with the Jewish leaders, they were trying to straddle the fence in keeping God's laws while serving the Roman master. We see the same thing today in the Apostasy. We have pastors and churches trying to be Christian churches while having a board of directors requiring them to obey US laws which violate the Bible. As a result they try to silence and rebuke those speaking the word of God and the Christians are divided against themselves, or more accurately the organized religion of Christianity is divided against those preaching the word of God.

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

We have seen this recently as well. Think of how horribly people are slandered who are simply standing with the world of God?

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

Make no mistake, the gospel is spoiling the house of Satan. All of these 501c3 churches are rebuking these Christians because they are threatening the tax exempt status of these churches and so they fear the authorities will come and take away their buildings and structures. We are told clearly that we cannot worship God and Mammon and this is bringing it to a head. So we don't compromise with this, it is very clear everyone must make a choice. Worship God or Mammon, you can't do both.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

This is another rebuke. You have a choice, you can be with Jesus or you can be with the Pastors who tell you to be quiet. Either you are gathering with Jesus or you are scattering abroad. That was the conclusion of the 39 years and 1 day till the temple was destroyed. After that the Jews were scattered abroad.

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Jesus is telling us right here that this judgment on Jerusalem and these rulers is confirmed. It will not be forgiven, but it will be carried out.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Think about Peter, it was forgiven him. Think about Paul, it was forgiven him. But this word by the Pharisees saying that Jesus was casting out devils by Beelzebub, that was not forgiven. Sometimes people do not see their judgement until they die and are cast into hell. But Jesus is making it very clear, this judgement will be seen both in this world and in the world to come. We saw it with the destruction of the temple in 70 AD.

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Jesus is saying their fruit is corrupt but they try and pretend it is good. It is like GMO food, or the vaccine they mandated as "safe and effective".

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

They issued their judgment concerning Jesus operating by Beelzebub, and Jesus then issued His judgment. Don't try and weasel out by saying it was simply an idle word. People try this all the time, "oh, I was just joking". Nope, you will have to give account for your "jokes" in the day of judgment.

38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

The context of this is critical, it didn't just happen. Jesus had declared His judgement and so they asked for a sign from Him because God will give a sign as a warning of impending judgement. That is the context. 'Master, you have just issued a judgement on us, we would like to see a sign from God verifying that this will be accomplished'.

39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

This sign is two fold. First, Jesus will be in the belly of the earth for 3 days and three nights and then will rise from the dead. Second, "the men of Nineveh shall rise", that doesn't simply refer to Jonah preaching for them to repent but it includes the Gentiles raised up in Paul's ministry telling them to repent.

Many do not understand that the gospel will condemn people. You offer them a free gift of repentance, but if they reject it they choose to be condemned. Our heart is that people would receive the free gift of salvation, but righteousness requires that all, both those who accept and those who reject are given this offer before they are condemned.

So then in conclusion I connect this verse to when judgement was declared that resulted in the destruction of the temple. I suspect this was given around the 8th or 9th of Av, 40 years before the temple was destroyed. The 40 years represents testing and trial. But it was 39 years and 1 day after Pentecost that the temple was destroyed after the pattern of "40 stripes save one" that Paul tells us of.

You have to look at the tax reform act of 1969. After the coup of 1963 and confirmation of that coup in 1968 we had the tax reform act of 1969. This was an overhaul of nonprofit organizations and was a critical component for the apostasy. As a result FreeMasons were able to get on the board of directors for churches. They did not tell what pastors could speak, instead they told them what they could not talk about: politics, prophecy, the antichrist and the rapture.

They also put the focus on members and getting more members. So Pastors were strongly discouraged from saying anything that would drive potential new members away. So don't talk about sin.

The gospel became ABC: Admit, Believe and confess. Where is "obey"? Where is the discipline to become a disciple? Where is take up your cross and follow the Lord? Instead we had bookstores filled with "christian" bookstores telling you to "Think this, not that". Also "The Total Money makeover" is listed as a book of "faith". Self help, and counseling and human encouragement. There are some biographies, but where are the books of exegesis? The "testimony" books are from Politicians and sports stars. It is amazing how you can go through 20-40 of the best selling "Christian" books and not see the Bible or the word of God. The books might be "good advice" but it is all natural, human, and misaims. If you miss the target by a foot or a mile it doesn't matter, just so long as you aren't aiming at the target.

They curse the church the same way that Balak hired Balaam to curse the church. He tells the truth, but in his quest to get rich he also advises Balak on how to bring the church down. Churches became a place for singles and dating. Pastors were focused on growth so they could preach on love, but not on sin. They could preach on salvation but not on judgement, not on the antichrist, not on the rapture, not on prophecy. They could talk about good works, but could not talk about the assassination of JFK, or RFK, or the Supreme court and abortion, or the Pandemic, etc. So yes, the Freemasons pumped money into the church which helped them grow and push out part of the gospel, but it made the church look weak and ineffective and powerless. Soon it became a bless me club. The net result is people leaving Christianity. Jesus told us that if He be lifted up He would draw all men to himself. By not lifting up Jesus and the Bible they could try as hard as they could to draw men to themselves but it had the opposite effect.

Praying for the sick

The sick being healed is a promise we can stand on

Mark 16:8 they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Signs and wonders are a testimony to the word of grace

Acts 14:3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

An example for us

Acts 28:8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

Chastening yields fruit of righteousness

Hebrews 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

The prayer of faith shall save the sick

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

The prayer of faith is not the prayer of the sick but the prayer of the elders. The sick do not need faith to be healed.

Healing all manner of disease

Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. 24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

This is a fulfillment of God's word

Matthew 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

The cross of Christ takes away all of our infirmities and sicknesses. Healing the sick of all manner of disease is a testimony to the grace of God.

That you may know the Son of God has power to forgive sins

Matthew 9:6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

Command them with all authority

Mark 1:27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

The Lord gave authority to His servants

Mark 13:34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

The Lord gave power and authority to the disciples

Luke 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

What is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
