Juliet... as much as I wanna agree with you, scripture shows that abortion is wrong. The reason? It clearly states life starts at conception (or even before this, but I won't get into it)... and so it would be murder. I think God is who decides who gets pregnant or not, so if you got pregnant during a rape case.... I think the best option would be give the child up for adoption. It wouldn't be the child's fault.
The word of the LORD came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:4-5).
Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done? (Proverbs 24:11-12).
Even the jackals offer their breasts to nurse their young, but my people have become heartless like ostriches in the desert. (Lamentations 4:3)
Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? (Micah 6:7)
This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your children may live, and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice and hold fast to him. (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:13-16)
etc etc etc......
Basically, what this means is that although rape is wrong, killing the baby is also wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right. It isn't the baby's fault, and God had a plan for the baby before he was even born. Adoption is a far better option.
