The divorce rates for people who have been married for 25 years or more is near 30%. It's called empty nest, it's because people didn't put things in proper order. Roles, there is a correct way, the Bible is the source for the correct information.
If one partner ignores the other, the other will focus too much on the kids. If one islike: you do the kids, I want me time, that's just a recepy for disaster. Happy families don't have that. All my collegues are happily married. They like to hang out with their family, partner and kids.
With a second marriage it's much harder, cause those aren't their kids. If I put a second partner above my kids I'm a total jerk. If my kids don't like a guy or he's a jerk to them, out he goes. And if he's nice, I warn him and say: don't do this. Find a woman without kids and without an ex. I'm not gonna do this to you.
