I used to say that I believed in God . . . but not the God of the Bible. Yes, I'd been in the "church" all my life, but hadn't ever read the Old Testament (not even in its scrambled form). It wasn't until I felt the Raw, Almighty Power of God (that nearly killed me) that woke me up. Once I realized that I breathe air because he simply allows it to happen, that's when I decided that I had better take my low-level form of belief and get myself straight.

After feeling the Love and Peace of God so Powerfully, and again, it was so Powerful being in the Lord's presence that it nearly killed me, I realized that I had better make the understanding of the Bible my number-one life's priority. I recommend that all people do the same thing. There is nothing more important than our figuring out the core message of the Bible . . . the ENTIRE Bible.

I really don't "believe in God"...not like you are suggesting.

I simply know Him as best as I can.

If I told you that I have a relationship with my son and father both... nobody doubts and imagines how that works...

I say that I know God...I don't just believe in Him. Satan does that much but that isn't exactly enough now is it?

His presence is all powerful to define His love, to define His grace, to define His majesty, and to define His graceful peace.

Read the Book "Knowledge of the Holy" by AW Tozer.

It's a very short book...but it grows on you.

When I say that "God is Sovereign" what that actually means tends to be subjective to way too many people.

This book describes exactly what that means without pause.

Then there's the other definitions of God's character. Omnipotent, omniscient, immutable and timelessness...all are described.

It is a lot more than just believe, I trust everything that I have to Him.

I think everybody believes in God; some people are just in denial. (romans 1:20)

Thanks, maybe I'll look into that once I get settled down again.

Thread Title -----Believing in God

Believing there is a God is not enough ------you will be doomed -----

Matthew 7:21-23

English Standard Version

I Never Knew You
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
