The Bible is clear that God speaks to his servants. I do not need to list examples here they are numerous in both the Old and New Testament. In point of fact God talks to us more often that he did then by virtue of the fact that Christians are far more wide-spread that ever they were and because of the wide-spread out-pouring of God's spirit on the earth. The problem is that often-times we are not listening or looking for the spectacular.
The easiest way to hear from God is to read his word. The Bible is God's most effective communication tool. The more we read the word and fill ourselves with the word and stay in the word, the more God can increase our understanding of his word through revelation. I had an experience like this in the last few hours. For about four days I have been studying identity in 2Peter 1: 3 and 4. As I studied in the word I began to gain a deeper understanding of those verses, particularly the relationship between divine identity, divine nature and divine authority.
Then yesterday I was in church skim reading the church magazine and saw an article on divine identity which covered exactly the same issues that the Lord had been teaching me about. Then this morning I was watching Andrew Wommack on the God Channel and he covered the exact same issues that I had been studying in his series "You've Already Got it". Following Andrew Wommack's programme Joyce Meyer came on and also confirmed some of the same issues on identity in her programme on walking in the spirit. Sometimes God speaks to us through others (Corinthians 13:1 Out of the mouth of two or three witnesses a testimony is established).
The other way that God talks to me is simply through knowing. Sometimes people say "I heard the Lord" or the "Lord said" or some-much. In my experience 99.9% of time hearing from God has nothing to do with I heard the Lord say this or that, rather it is about knowing in my heart what God wants me to do.
