I know Im not crazy and I know what I hear and feel. Ive came across some Christians, who dont "hear" like I do and have been calling me crazy and have questioned if Im delusional. I then turn it around and dont understand how they dont hear God. I know some people have certain gifts and I would consider this one of my gifts. I also know as well as I can hear God, I can hear the enemy and when I feel as if Im being spoken to something specific, I will ask for clarification and will rebuke the enemy in Jesus Name.

For a split second when having these conversations with so called Christians, I doubt myself and then in turn have always felt and heard God. My grandpa fir instance is one of the most Godliest men I know and have lived to the best Ive seen serving God, but he has told me he hasnt and dosent hear God like I do, but feels Him in his heart. I questioned his salvation at one point but then felt like God put it on my heart that we arnt all made the same. God knows me, cause He created me and knows that I need to hear things. I have an open line communication with everyone and ask tons of questions and I do the same with God. Some people may have quiet lives and can be still in God or Ive heard people hear God thru signs and clues, not sure about all that, but its not up to me to try and understand.

So I ask, How do you hear God, when Hes tugging at your heart or telling you to go somewhere or do a certain thing? Has he told you who your going to marry or placed someone in your life where you know, "thats the one God has for me"?

my humble suggestion to you is this write down all you hear word for word. At some point it should all line up with the Bible even the personal words concerning your life can and will be found in scripture. I'd question anything else as authentic.

Yes! As in all things....line it up with the scripture....if it doesn't line up, cast it out.

Not at all what I mean. I'm not talking about blogging! Sometimes we talk to much share to much the enemy doesn't have access a lot of time until we give it to him. I'm talking about your private conversations. Write them down for you! Not for a blog not to share. Then compare what was written to the word!

Are you talking in terms of hearing God 'out loud' or some 'inner impression'?

Why do all your posts inevitably always tie back into 'well God told me he was the one'?

I haven't heard God as an audible voice but there are timers when I'm reading my Bible that something "leaps" off the page at me or I'm reading scripture that seems to specifically address something I'm wondering about. I've had very strong feelings at times that I should pray for someone. I've had times when I have felt His love and peace flow over me and keep me together when normally I'd be screaming or crying. I've prayed and a solution presents itself. So does God speak to me? Yes, He does. He'll speak to anyone who will slow down and listen because He loves us.

I agree with the comments about what you hear lining up with the Bible.

Also, I'm curious, when you hear God about other people, do the facts check out with their experience? Do you ever get information about what people are thinking or other things you couldn't naturally know? Are you told events before they occur?

If you think you are hearing God, and you think you hear that someone you saw for the first time is from New Jersey, and he's a pilot, and he is an accountant from Alabama who has never been to New Jersey, that should tell you something. If he's really a pilot from New Jersey, that should tell you something different.

I don't constantly hear God talking to me. I don't think I've ever heard an audible voice. I did meet a Christian billionaire one who said that he did hear the audible voice. He had an example of saying God told him to give money to a certain person.

I do believe I've heard God's voice as a kind of internal thing in my mind. I've also gotten these words that come to me while praying with people, and I've prayed about all kinds of details about them that I didn't know. The last time I remember this happening I was praying for a man from church I'd met but didn't really know as he was praying at an 'altar' at a Christian retreat. I prayed about his ministry when he goes back to India, things going on in the US. I prayed for the Lord to bless him with a car. He told me later he'd pray something in his mind, and I'd start praying about it out loud. As he switched topics, I prayed about the same topic. He asked his wife if she'd mentioned anything to my wife about their care needing fixing.

My wife prophesies sometimes, too. One time a few months ago, she started to prophesy over one guy at church who seems kind of new to the faith. At least he's new to trying to really walk in it. When she started, I knew he was called to be an evangelist. Then she prophesied that. I said 'amen' and later shared with the prayer group that I'd gotten that word, too.

Another time, I was praying for this young man who went up for prayer at an altar call I hadn't met when I was oversees, and I got the word 'headaches.' So I asked him if he had a problem with headaches. He said he'd had a problem with severe headaches on one side of his head since he was little. I prayed for him and gave him my email address and asked for an update. I don't think he ever sent it, but a lot of people in that country didn't use email much at the time.

It depends what it is and how frequent it can be... I can't say that I never heard from God since I thought I had on some occasions, but sometimes voices can enter into one's head and it can get obsessive... If it does then I would question.

God tends to place strong feelings of discernment around me or places a promise on my heart. It's difficult to explain... And mine tend to be personal. All I can say is that He has been faithful so far and has fulfilled them all. That is how I know they are from Him.

Honestly, I have had a moment like that before where I felt he spoke to me about someone being the one. I know I felt the spirit but am not sure if I interpreted it correctly. My sister also has the gift of discernment and so sometimes it's cool to compare and see that we both felt the same thing.

I do not have these experiences frequently but believe that God only shows them when it is right in his timing. It's not something that I control but he does. :)

I understand completely. I too know about timing. I had two years of Auto Technology in college. I have changed timing belts many times on various vehicles. I know that if the timing is off the car will no longer run. Of course, God's timing is different, I understand this as well.

Good discussion. We can hear from God sometimes.

I tell people that in my lifetime I "heard" from God sometimes in listening to a pastor's sermon or
or in reading scripture. When I badly needed it and this did not seem to work then sometimes I "heard"
thoughts coming to me from elsewhere. Like about who or what to pray for or words of encouragement.
I never heard an audible voice, but I am told that some have. Thanks to God. Thanks to Jesus.

I'm curious. I would like to know the same thing.

Do you hear God in an audible way in which the sound of his voice echoes into your ears? Or do you perceive his voice through your mind, where your ears aren't picking up sounds?

I believe He created us with the understanding of how delicate we know our mind are and for one to hear His voice audibly "booming from heaven" would for even the strongest mentally stabile question our mental health. However with that said, as I know others will attest to this, we hear Him audibly through His Spirit in us.

If you believe you are a vessel for Christ you can accept this. When we the Body of Christ reaches out a hand to the poor is that not the hand of Christ they have received? When the broken hearted is in need of God's comfort is it not that same Body that delivers that word?
Jesus on multiple occasions pronounced "he who has ears let him hear."

I could go further but for the scope of the question will stop here.

Yep, I certainly hear from God and I would encourage anyone to believe they do so too. Sometimes you may think something is from your own thought but we can learn know His voice, it really is that still, small voice and if you got too much scrambling around in your soul, you'll miss it. Gods voice is much better than the TVs, it brings peace and clarity and wisdom and insight. If God who shows no partiality would speak to murderous Cain, how much more would He desire intimate communication with those whom He adopted! I could go on to other things but I choose not to share them on a public forum, ive already shared enough.
