Christian view on Life insurance, do or don’t

If you are buying life insurance to provide for your family in the event of your untimely death, I see no problem with it. I believe that a husband should provide a means of income for his wife for the remainder of her life and ensure that both have a funeral paid for. I recommend that all real estate be distributed before you die (pay a lawyer to prepare that distribution).

This is where you ask yourself questions.
If I die is there enough money to pay for the funeral and my final expenses?
Do I have children that need to be taken care of?
Do I have enough savings to take care of my family should I die?
Will my wife/husband be in financial stress should I die?
We know God provides for us. He also gave us a brain to use so if you would need money should you die then buy the insurance and have peace of mind.

Having it makes sense. The culture of the Bible is not the same culture in our modern world of the United States.
1 Timothy 5:8 says “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

The man gave one servant five bags of money.[a] He gave another servant two bags. And he gave a third servant one bag. Then he left. 16 The servant who got five bags went quickly to invest the money. Those five bags of money earned five more. 17 It was the same with the servant who had two bags. That servant invested the money and earned two more. 18 But the servant who got one bag of money went away and dug a hole in the ground. Then he hid his master’s money in the hole.
19 “After a long time the master came home. He asked the servants what they did with his money. 20 The servant who got five bags brought that amount and five more bags of money to the master. The servant said, ‘Master, you trusted me to care for five bags of money. So I used them to earn five more.’

Yeah see I'm not sure that is talking about insurance. In the king James it talks about talents. It's only at the end the slothful servant who has money.
It could be simply saving the money you make, it could also be increasing the actual talents God gives you, like if you can sing and then you go out and learn to play an instrument like a guitar. You've doubled your talents.

Having life insurance is not showing a lack of trust or faith. Unless we are alive when Jesus returns, all of us will eventually die as mortal humans.
I look at life insurance as a selfless investment. I will not gain the benefits, but my wife will be much more secure if I am no longer here as the primary financial provider within our marriage.
It's also a great way to gift to the church and/or other charities if we have the means.

I don't believe we are still required to tithe, but I do believe all that we possess belongs to God, which would include our money. A tithe was only a portion of the giving done by an Israelite. They actually were required to give nearly a quarter of their increase.
The new Testament requirement is we give as we feel we ought and with joy having been so abundantly cared for. A tithe as you call it, in my opinion, is a good start.
And I was only suggesting in my post that there is a much deeper message to the passage than merely money.
