I have life insurance and I've never thought that it somehow contradicts the teachings of Christ. I think it's our task to make sure our family and we are in a stable financial condition and there are certain tools that God provides us with to give us more peace of mind
Well if it does, it's a lack of faith God will provide for your family when your gone.

Ahh but a good man leaves an inheritance to his children. Perhaps instead of giving your money to a stranger who may or may not give it back. You should invest your money wisely so you have something to leave to your family when your gone.

If you are buying life insurance to provide for your family in the event of your untimely death, I see no problem with it. I believe that a husband should provide a means of income for his wife for the remainder of her life and ensure that both have a funeral paid for. I recommend that all real estate be distributed before you die (pay a lawyer to prepare that distribution).

This is where you ask yourself questions.

If I die is there enough money to pay for the funeral and my final expenses?
Do I have children that need to be taken care of?
Do I have enough savings to take care of my family should I die?
Will my wife/husband be in financial stress should I die?

We know God provides for us. He also gave us a brain to use so if you would need money should you die then buy the insurance and have peace of mind.

Having it makes sense. The culture of the Bible is not the same culture in our modern world of the United States.

1 Timothy 5:8 says “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

Look at the ants in the Book of Proverbs.

Matthew 25:14-27
Easy-to-Read Version
A Story About Three Servants
14 “At that time God’s kingdom will also be like a man leaving home to travel to another place for a visit. Before he left, he talked with his servants. He told his servants to take care of his things while he was gone. 15 He decided how much each servant would be able to care for. The man gave one servant five bags of money.[a] He gave another servant two bags. And he gave a third servant one bag. Then he left. 16 The servant who got five bags went quickly to invest the money. Those five bags of money earned five more. 17 It was the same with the servant who had two bags. That servant invested the money and earned two more. 18 But the servant who got one bag of money went away and dug a hole in the ground. Then he hid his master’s money in the hole.

19 “After a long time the master came home. He asked the servants what they did with his money. 20 The servant who got five bags brought that amount and five more bags of money to the master. The servant said, ‘Master, you trusted me to care for five bags of money. So I used them to earn five more.’

21 “The master answered, ‘You did right. You are a good servant who can be trusted. You did well with that small amount of money. So I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my happiness with me.’

22 “Then the servant who got two bags of money came to the master. The servant said, ‘Master, you gave me two bags of money to care for. So I used your two bags to earn two more.’

23 “The master answered, ‘You did right. You are a good servant who can be trusted. You did well with a small amount of money. So I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my happiness with me.’

24 “Then the servant who got one bag of money came to the master. The servant said, ‘Master, I knew you were a very hard man. You harvest what you did not plant. You gather crops where you did not put any seed. 25 So I was afraid. I went and hid your money in the ground. Here is the one bag of money you gave me.’

26 “The master answered, ‘You are a bad and lazy servant! You say you knew that I harvest what I did not plant and that I gather crops where I did not put any seed. 27 So you should have put my money in the bank. Then, when I came home, I would get my money back. And I would also get the interest that my money earned.’

I want to take a life insurance, so when I die my family won’t have financial problems.
I having mixed feelings about this.

Is having a life insurance not trusting God, that he will always provide? Is it preparing for the worst thing to happen and not living in faith?

About me:
I am having physical and mental problems for years. And while it normally goes with up and downs, this down is taking more time and I get a little scared. So I will have a save feeling knowing my family are taken care of financally if things go wrong in the future. If you like to pray for me, prayers are appreciated and welcome.
Maybe consider God inspired someone to come up with life insurance so that our loved ones sorrow wouldn't be compounded by the high cost of our burial. And settling our final expenses.

Yeah see I'm not sure that is talking about insurance. In the king James it talks about talents. It's only at the end the slothful servant who has money.

It could be simply saving the money you make, it could also be increasing the actual talents God gives you, like if you can sing and then you go out and learn to play an instrument like a guitar. You've doubled your talents.

Having life insurance is not showing a lack of trust or faith. Unless we are alive when Jesus returns, all of us will eventually die as mortal humans.

I look at life insurance as a selfless investment. I will not gain the benefits, but my wife will be much more secure if I am no longer here as the primary financial provider within our marriage.

It's also a great way to gift to the church and/or other charities if we have the means.

Great question!

A pay check , any form of retirement, could be considered the same. Good stewardship is not a lack of faith it is obedience.

I personally believe insurance to be nothing more than a scam

I wouldn't know God has found pleasure in watching me rot on social assistance.
Just like the rest of the world.

It's like asking "Is working at a job not trusting God?" God expects us to work and provide for our families, and life insurance is provision for families when the breadwinner (or both parents) is/are no longer there. Faith also means believing what God has said in His Word.
I remember the pastor of the church I used to attend said you can go down to the electric company and pray and speak in tongues all you want to but if you don't have any money, they're cutting off your lights

It is common sense, Jesus said give to Ceasar what is Cesar's and unto God what is God's.

God Expects us to do right, Tithing, Paying Taxes and Paying bills.

There's a little more going on with this passage. If the coin with the image of Caesar was to be given to Caesar, the bearer of God's image should also be given to God.

And who made coins with God's Image with out breeching the Command thou shalt not make any graven image??

Cesar makes coins, he also commands the paying of taxes as a government,. God Commands that we honour him with the first fruits of our labour and to give 10% of what we make.

I don't believe we are still required to tithe, but I do believe all that we possess belongs to God, which would include our money. A tithe was only a portion of the giving done by an Israelite. They actually were required to give nearly a quarter of their increase.
The new Testament requirement is we give as we feel we ought and with joy having been so abundantly cared for. A tithe as you call it, in my opinion, is a good start.
And I was only suggesting in my post that there is a much deeper message to the passage than merely money.

Don't forget it's the tithes and offerings that keep the church open and the ministries funded.

I agree, their is something deeper their it's the doctrine of being a good steward over what God gives us and a reminder that God holds us accountable according to his standards not our own.
