I have often thought this about small businesses that are all in the family too. And things like nepotism can be good or a bad thing as well.

when you work in small business and you dont always have back up or fresh input from. outside, things can get stale or toxic. Or conversely if you never get a break and work round the clock with the same people all the time, getting on each others nerves

I have been watching Meghan and Harrys story and dont quite understand the hatred thats going toward Meghan but not even from the royals family themselves I suspect its the servants and press that want to create drama out of nothing! Very sad

And often the root cause of these things is plain ol' green eyed jealousy. Cain vs Abel same old story played out a billion times in families over centuries.

I am a black sheep. I have been a Christian believer from long ago. I got past such things I held against others knowing I was related to them, so I would not grow to hate them. But it was not the same for others, for what things they held against me. Some remained or grew distant, it was hard for me to go and see those I would. Those I could still have a closer relationship have each at some time died off, now there are just ones who have effectively nothing to do with me left, so I am isolated from family. I seek what relationship I can have with fellow believers, in Christ, still. I came to the Christian Chat app for that too. But for the last few weeks there is not access I find to it, it is like nothing is there.

I think black sheep are cool
Or special
There are too many white sheep. You need to have some contrast.

SIN, or yielding to Satan, breeds contempt.

In regard to human relationships, we see this first with Cain and Abel, and it has continued on throughout history until our day.

1 John 3

11For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. 13Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. 14We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 15Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

I can honestly (and sadly) say that the world hates me, and solely because of my walk with Christ. In other words, it's really Christ that they hate, and not me. I stopped marveling at that a long, long time ago. It is what it is.

John 15

18If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. 21But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. 22If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. 23He that hateth me hateth my Father also. 24If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. 25But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

Just speak the truth of God's word to the average person, and the average "Christian", and you'll be treated with contempt because it is ultimately contempt for God that leads to contempt for others. Again, it is what it is, and there's a very real day of judgment coming when Christ himself will deal with the evildoers. It won't be pretty, but it will be just.

Matthew 5

21Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. 25Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. 26Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

the whole harry and meghan thing is because of sibling rivalry possibly. I think it happens when you set up a family that has only one heir and the rest are 'spare'

This also happened with Jacob and Esau. I dont know why BOTH coudnt have been given the birthright or blessing. Surely there was enough to go round.

God is loving, I don't think God was unfair in not giving Esau the birthright and blessings. Esau despised God and godly things, and he showed that continuing with what there would be from God meant nothing to him. Even though Jacob was also one with his own sins, God could work with him like it was not possible with Esau. And Jacob's children all shared to some extent in blessings passed down through Jacob.

Certainly there was family disfunction but God was working though with the relevant individuals for God's plan, Esau who cared nothing for God was not going to be used for the blessings to be passed on anyway, but God still had promises to Esau kept.

Birthright was the authority to run the family operations in Dad's place. IOW being the assistant manager for the family business and beyond.

The Blessing was the actual money (Usually) but in Jacob and Esau's case it came with the added legacy of the SEED of the woman.....which is why Israel was Jacob's second name given by God. And Edom was Esau's name given by men because of his partying ways.

I tend to think that there's a bit of discrepancy between the Royals and the Biblical account.

I dont think it was dependant on the seed or who they chose to marry because from before birth God had said the older will serve the younger.

They were twins. So even though they were born on the same day, one had to come out of the birth canal first...I dont imagine its easy to pop out two babies simaltaneously.

Rebecca was like why does my womb feel like theres a party in there? They were kicking each other cos there wasnt enough room.

I always wondered why humans dont naturally have litters of children and just give birth all at once instead of every year or so (or 9 months) or spawn like fish and have eggs instead....would be much easier on the female.

The SEED wasn't valued by Esau....meaning the lineage of Christ.

Because Isaac had two sons his estate was to be divided into 3 portions and the "Blessing" was 2 of the 3 portions....with the final third being left to the other son.

When Jacob's estate was divided....he couldn't give Joseph the "Blessing". So he "conned" God into giving Joseph what he couldn't by adopting Joseph's two kids. Ultimately giving Joseph a double portion.
So we always say the 12 tribes of Israel but in truth there were 13. Because there is no tribe of Joseph....only Ephraim and Manasseh. So Jacob divided his estate into 14 portions and gave Judah 2 portions and each of the rest of them one (except Joseph....he was kinda wealthy)

Reuben was firstborn and entitled to the "Blessing" of being firstborn but blew it. (Indeed Jacob was looking for any excuse when Reuben gave him one) So the title of firstborn was given to Judah...and subsequently the legacy of lineage of the SEED. Later seen and titled as the Son/SEED of David.

Yes....

The Tunisian Yasser Arafat led a group of dissidents into Egypt to destabilize the government towards the end of WW2....theyvwere getting slaughtered wholesale so they went to Syria/Lebanon to start the same thing....and got the same result....getting killed wholesale.
So they went to Jordan and started again for the third time.
But this time there had been a war with Israel and Israel took land away from Jordan (west Bank...Golan Heights) as it was the high ground.

So the Jordanian King offered them that land that Israel was holding or else get wiped out. And they have been up to the same crap ever since calling themselves "Palestinians'.

Israel was a nothing place of scrub and sand when they were awarded their Nation by the UN....and under UK Rule....the UK was rather usurious of Israel....but Finally Israel was granted autonomy and some worn out weapons (from the US) from WW2 they fought off 6 nations that attacked as soon as the UK left.

Today Israel is lush and green and free of trash. (Unlike Palestinians side)

Israel has tried to be nice and kind to Palestinians but....they just want to cause trouble.

Now Israel did start a war with Egypt over the suez canal....but both sides just stopped fighting after exhausting themselves with neither side winning.

Maybe take a leaf out of Jacob (Israels) book how he managed to reconcile with Esau. Esau was a hunter and Jacob was a settler. Give the Esau (Edomites) the wilderness and some fishing boats, tents and a lot of deer for their venison stew.
