Is this bad to watch?

Never a good idea to open a door, and I don't care who you are, nobody can ever say they cannot be tempted.

There are a lot of movies and shows where you would not expect to see anything sexual or some nudity but something gets thrown in there at some point. That you can't help, but if it's a scene that is long or keeps repeating I'm done with it.

I never cared for my ex to watch something like that but he made a lot of very bad choices.

Nudity in and of itself is not evil, but if we start drooling over a nude scene, perhaps its something to avoid. Many scholars believe Jesus was crucified completely nude, the humiliation was part of the punishment. A naked person is not evil, there’s no specific prohibition against nudity in the Bible. it only addresses our sinful (lustful) thoughts and response to nudity. I imagine King David would advise against nude scenes :)

Whats your intake on movies that are PG-13 or R with sexual scenes or half naked people or even full on nudity? Do you allow or approve of your significant other or children to watch it? What's your opinion on it with how God looks upon us making the choice to watch it?
I suggest you read 1 Timothy 2:9 before you ask questions like that. :rolleyes:

God gives me clear indications of what *I* am supposed to do. If I were a mother, he also tells what mothers are supposed to do for their children.

He doesn't often tell me what everyone else is supposed to do. Personally? I suspect that's because he's fine with telling them himself.

So, no. I don't think it's my duty to go around and tell other adults -- even my hubby -- what they should do. I think telling others what to do is a bigger problem in the Church than movies.

Gratuitous sex and nudity (and most sex and nudity in movies is gratuitous) doesn’t belong in movies, and a wise Christian doesn’t watch it.

Unless they involved dancing before the Lord...because he did that naked.

Personally, I don't have a problem with nudity in art (and film/TV are art forms). Of course, everything is based on intention. For example, there are lots of "nude" scenes in Schindler's List. However, I imagine it would be a rather unusual (and possibly pathological) person who would watch nude people marching to be killed and have erotic thoughts as a result of it.

Lots of classical art involves nudity. If I had a young child, I wouldn't hesitate to allow him/her to see the statue of David, or Rodin's Kiss, etc.

People forget, as well, that nudity (or implied nudity) can be funny. Even in It's a Wonderful Life, there's a really funny scene after the graduation night swimming pool debacle where George and Mary are walking home in borrowed clothes. George steps on the end of Mary's robe and she walks out of it and into the bushes. We never see her nude, but the conversation about whether or not George should return the robe is very humorous.

I think graphic violence and highly sexualized material is pretty nutty, though. Also, I don't like the sexist nature of a lot of the way sex is rendered in film either

Very well said. Too many people love expressing their personal opinions and pawning them over the masses as if God Himself ordained them a prophet to the world.

Back to the OP, I used to watch game of thrones. Great story line, but I had to stop watching it because of the nude scenes. I didn't feel right watching the show anymore.
I actually agree with you here. The "Song of Ice and Fire", was my absolute favorite book series of all times, and I still have most first editions signed by good ol' George. I was so excited for the TV series once it was green lit and not really that shocked when it took off like it did. Then I was regenerated by the Spirit and my view on it started to change. I am not saying I was born again and just was like "Oh it's evil and if anyone watches it they are going to hell!!" or anything like that. It's just that anytime I did try to watch it, or reread the books I was thinking "is this really the best way I could be spending this time, and is it really good for me to be filling my head and thoughts with this kind of material". Honestly it's a very personal opinion, I am not making "laws" for myself or anyone else for that matter, and I'm not out on the street or internet picketing it screaming "Game of Thrones will send you to hell fire", but I to felt the Lord led me away from it, and it was my absolute favorite long before the show was ever even thought about, I don't feel deprived, And actually look at it as the power of His Spirit working in my life.

LOL, long winded stories aside, I too think they went a bit overboard with the nude scenes in the show.

Other than Disney films, I do not find any modern movie that has perfect morals and scenes that are always appropriate..wow..I sound just like my parents when I was a teenager! lol

My wife likes me to watch Real Housewives of Atlanta with her. im thinking thats the last thing a wife should want her husband watching due to the way they tend to wear revealing attire.
