Going back to where this whole thread started (cuz I don't feel like starting a new one anyway
), can we get some opinions about Christians celebrating Halloween? Since there's not even a Christian basis for that one, should we go along with it and dress up and trick-or-treat?
I grew up doing that, and I think my mom tried to impress upon us that as Christians, we shouldn't dress up as anything dark or gruesome; that we were never to even pretend to be witches or whatever. Now as a mother myself, I don't know that I want to let my son be involved in it at all, despite feeling like it didn't do any damage to me as a child and I understood the difference between good and evil (therefore also God and Devil).
What do other people think about this?
