Curds squeak when you chew them... though perhaps the gravy on fries in the making of poutine lessens that effect?

Though truth be told, I never heard of poutine until... well, many years after eating curds straight out of a bag...
The lady from whom I purchase goat milk gave me some fresh mozzarella a few months ago. It squeaked when I chewed it. I texted her, is this supposed to happen? She said it was normal for that kind of cheese.

Swiss cheese is amongst my favorites, but I always feel like I've been cheated when I buy it.
Don't you know swiss is a religious cheese?
yeah, it's true! It's because it's so full of holes  it's a holey  cheese :LOL:

I remember being 5/6 years old, coming home from church and Mom making meat/cheese sandwiches for lunch. I didn't know what it was called and she actually asked me what cheese I wanted (instead of just making it for me like she usually did) so I couldn't tell her "swiss". I remember telling her "I want the holey cheese"

I like Gouda every once in a while also... oh! I see GG has just mentioned it... and the cheese spreads? We have Cheez Whiz here, which we always had at home when I was a kid, and my mom used to buy some boxed cheeses that were from Europe, individually wrapped in triangles (the box was always round)... they were kind of a novelty item more than a favourite for flavour, kind of like some smoked cheeses... good at first but not a contender in the long run... I bought my first jar of Cheez Whiz in decades a few years ago when my sister had to give it up following her mastectomies... she said it was the hardest thing for her to eliminate from her refrigerator, so I bought a jar of it in her honour... though I never did finish it off LOL And what about Velveeta? We always had that at home too! My closest sister requested lasagne from my mom who had never made it before and she made it with Velveeta

The other night I ordered pizzas from a different place and in fear of not enough cheese, I ordered extra cheese with the toppings. When I picked it up they were quite heavy and when we opened them all you saw was cheese. The others were griping they couldn't taste the ham or pineapple but I was in Heaven with mushrooms & ham drenched in cheese and I topped it off with canned anchovies😍 Next time I probably won't order extra cheese, on theirs😂😋👍

I'm sorry, but you've reached the wrong thread.

Cheez Whiz needs to go in the thread for Foods That Belong in the Lake of Fire!:devilish:

May I ask, what are squeaky curds?! 😳🧀
It's what Little Miss Muffet ate while sitting on her tuffet...
Hmm... I'm not sure about that...

"Little Miss Muffet
Sat on her tuffet
SQUEAKING her curds and whey..."

That kind of sounds like Miss Muffet was eating a pot of beans on the side...

Lol!!

This reminds me of that Peanuts episode where Peppermint Patty and Snoopy got stuck on a waterbed -- it was so wavy that they were trapped and couldn't escape!

So obviously, Tabin's pizzas were so overloaded that all those poor toppings were getting bounced around by all extra cheese -- and didn't have a anywhere to land!

Alas, you caught me!!!

I love a grilled cheese sandwich made with Kraft singles -- my Mom used to make them that way.

I also use them on burgers. 😳

Kraft singles take me back to my childhood. 😎

Along with Oscar Mayer Bologna, Kraft Miracle Whip and (I say  ew now, but so tempted to go get some) Wonder Bread.
Ahem, but I suppose that's all for another thread. Is there one for childhood food memories?
