Considering how much the makers of that show listen to the plague on humanity that is the Parents Television Council (aka: the group who got Katy Perry's scene removed from the show because they hated her cleavage), there's no way Bert and Ernie are getting married. Ever.
Yeah that's stupid. There was nothing wrong with Katy's performance. It was cute and fun for kids.

Yeah and the fact that people take them seriously is even more nauseating.

But she has cleavage!!! Which, even worse, shows that she has boobs!!! *gasp!* Children must never know that women have boobs! It will shatter their frail little minds!!!

I just thought I would throw this in here....for no major reason but yall remember Mr' Noodle aka Michael Jeter?
Ya know what happened to him in real life?

Well....... he died of AIDS. How did he get aids? Well, his boyfriend gave it to him. I mean I know that is not the only way you contract this disease, but I find it somewhat ironic that an actor from Seseme Street died of a disease because of homosexual sex.

I always grew up thinking they were brothers.

We were talking about this topic at work the other day, and about 5 of my colleagues said 'But they're brothers aren't they?'...seems I wasn't the only one.

This whole notion is ridiculous. I read a response from the producers of Sesame Street in which they stated that :The characters were created to teach preschoolers that you can still be very good friends with someone who is very different from you. Although the characters are represented as Male, and have human characteristics, they are not in any kind of 'relationship'.. they are PUPPETS they do NOT have any sexual orientation!

It makes me wonder why some things are deemed acceptable and others are not? ie: The TV sitcom 'My name is Earl'... Earl and Randy are brothers and sleep in the same bed- are they supposed to get married now too? Because that is the very same reasoning that the gay rights activists are using to push for the wedding of Bert and Ernie- because they share a house and sleep in the same bed.

I'm curious. Have these people not heard of housemates. Granted the 'sharing the bed thing' is not exactly normal for people who aren't in some kind of 'committed relationship' but c'mon.. they're freakin' puppets (or in the case of randy and earl...just a little odd). However, I'm willing to admit that when I was a teenager (around the age of 12-15) it wasn't uncommon at an 'all-girls' slumber party for girls to share the same bed- as friends! No one found that weird! None of us were required to get 'married'... in fact many of those close friends of mine, have since grown up, married Godly men, and are happily raising families...who woulda thought?!

I've seen arguments for this stating that they wouldn't be sharing a house if they weren't in a 'relationship'. Really? So does that mean now that every person on the planet who lives in the same house with someone of the same gender who is not related to them, now has to redfine their relationship with that person? If so, we can no longer have housemates, or friends visiting, or our brothers mates girlfriend stop by for night on her way through town! It's just insane.

I'm really worried about the future of our society. Currently Australia is facing the political debate of whether to allow 'same sex marriage' as an equality thing bla bla. Morals have gone out the window, and it's alarming to say the least!

** on a slightly more amusing sidenote**... If they really want us to believe that Bert and Ernie are in fact 'Gay' they seriously need to do something about Bert's unibrow, since no 'gay man' would have a 'unibrow' like that. Oh, and stripes..really? I don't think so!

I think that it would be horrible if something like that were to happen. I understand that with the way the world is and the way it is becoming more and more, there are many same-sex relationships, marriages and parents; however, I don't think that anything like that belongs on a children's show.

It's so hard to be able to speak up for what you believe to be right. In today's world more and more, I feel like I can't say anything at all against homosexuality without being considered a horrible, judegemental, hatful human being. There is a difference between standing up for what you believe to be right and being hateful toward those who make choices you don't agree with. I am not for one second suggesting that those things should be kept out of children's shows in order to encourage hatefulness. I just think that we really do have to care what children are watching. Putting something like that in a kid's show makes it more normal and more acceptable.

I do think that it's important to encourage dialogue about topics like this with kids, but I don't think that as Christians we should be teaching them that it's right. Sesame Street is educational as well as entertaining, and that's important in a children's show. We just need to be aware of what it is kids are learning. It doesn't mean that we should ever teach them dislike or hatred for anyone else, only that there are things people are doing in this world that are not okay with God. (Obviously we ALL do things that are not okay with God.) As Christians, we should care what children are learning and they should learn God's Word and His will for their lives.

I understand though that no matter how hard any Christian parent tries, their children are going to come into contact with opposing viewpoints. I guess what I'm saying is that although we can't stop every negative or potentially harmful thing from happening, we just have to do our best. We certainly shouldn't be advocating for things like this, we are supposed to be separate from the world.
You can hate the actions but not the people, God clearly states in his word that homosexuals are one of those who will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

The actions are the people. God is wrong for condemning homosexuals. There is nothing wrong with having different sexual preferences.

No, you have that twisted bud.

God isn't wrong. PEOPLE who twisted His words are. God doesn't hate. God loves and forgives. People are the ones that misinterpreted a few passages to mean one thing when, culturally, consensual adult homosexuality is NOT what God meant by that.

I might have misinterpreted or at least believed others misinterpretations, since I haven't read most of the bible but no one has ever mentioned that God accepts LGBT's as equals. Regardless of the truth of that matter, I've read enough of the bible to see that God is not omnibenevolent. Anyone who uses such a harsh, cruel ultimatum (involving hell) cannot be as good as you say he is.

I know I'm gonna get bashed for this but, hey, who cares...

I believe a LARGE majority of the Old Testament got mixed up with politics and the ancient beliefs of the time. There is overwhelming evidence that pagan beliefs and myths got mixed into the passages. And what people don't like to mention is that the old testament is strictly about that area of the world, at that time. The New Testament has to do with everyone. It took place in the middle east, but Jesus died so ALL people could be free from death (the TRUE, endless death.)

I believe a lot of the old testament is allegory on how people at that time were to live their lives, to build big and strong Jewish civilizations. and having gays running around wouldn't exactly help that.

But the hebrew words used for "gay" in the Old Testament were more like "anal rape" than "consensual anal sex," which the Israelites DID have a word for.

I was confronted by this issue in a very real way today.

I was in the city, minding my own business happily doing some shopping when some 'Gay marriage activists' group were marching through the city streets with plaquards, and loud speakers and rainbow clown wigs, chanting some rubbish about marriage being a civil right for everyone.

Um, wrong- marriage is a union -instituted by God himself, entered into by one man and one woman who voluntarily commit their lives to each other for the rest of their days...but what would I know anyway? (The sarcasm drips).

All I wanted to do today was get my nails done and shop for shoes in peace, but without any choice in the matter- I had that 'forcibly shoved in my face'. Thank the Lord for iPods we can switch up loud with worship music!

All I could do at the time was pray as I waited in the queue at Target, and trust that God is in control of our nation!

This is the beginning of a REALLY funny comedy movie. The strange lady hiding in Target, in fear of the homos. They're not like vampires, they can't turn you gay by biting you hahahaha. Don't fear what you don't understand.

I wanna know what was wrong with Katy's performance. PRETTY sure you didn't watch it. It's a cute scene of her playing dress-up with Elmo. People bash her b/c she's hot. It's stupid.
