I hope you never have children Ramon... for their sake.
Young man, you may regret that attitude in about 60 years when you stand before your Maker to be judged. And for those people who say that children "need" to experience the world in order to withstand it, the truth is that the world has nothing to offer Christians. James 4, verses 4 and 5, says "You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us?"

Ramon may be a little over the top, but his premise is absolutely correct. And whatever it takes for parents to "train up" their children is perfectly acceptable. I believe that this is one area where the ends do justify the means.

PS: I, myself, have two adult daughters that I wish I had trained up better, so this not just some "holier than thou" rant.

PARENTS TRAIN YOUR CHILDREN IN THE WAY!!! TRAIN THEM IN OBEDIENCE TO JESUS CHRIST! I warn you in the Lord, if ANY of you offend your children into hell, you will meet the severe punishment of the Lord. Stop letting them do the things the other kids do. What you call innocent is an abomination with the Lord. Stop acting like they are okay so long as the don't do anything too bad. Train them from birth in obedience to Christ.

It is a shame as you yourself should also live in the righteousness you were bought with. If you continue to allow your children to follow this wicked world, they will be cut off from you. I tell you will loose them. Teach them righteousness, teach them to love one another. Stop allowing them to play these filthy games, watch these filthy movies and supposed kid's shows which are training tools in evil. Stop buying it for them, knowing full well that it is WRONG. How can you be children of God an children of Satan at the same time? Not so. Repent. Teach the TRUTH of the Gospel. They are not too young. And you are not too old. Repent and obey Jesus.

May Jesus bless you.
you do know parents cant make kids follow christ...yeah they can make them go to chuch, but whats the point if by your obligating them you impose church as a burden to them...btw im 18 years old man, and really my mom pushed me to go to church, she would really make me go..guess what happended? i left church for three years because of her actions. But thanks to her and my friend's prayers i'm trying to make a come back...the thing is that, during those three years, the most that i did is miss behave and got drunk twice... i was offered sex, drugs, riches, and violence and thank to her loving teaching i didn't dig my grave so deep (yeah she is a loving parent, but i did despise her actions of making me go to church)

Hi. May Jesus bless you.

My friend, going to church is not being a Christian. I have been in church my whole life, and I hardly recall being taught the Truth of the gospel. I have heard so many other gospels that I am ashamed to call them churches. Sounded more like free psychiatry than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is not about attending those churches, it is about a relationship with Jesus Christ, and about parents teaching their children this very thing. If you had a relationship with Jesus you would have a more fulfilling life. Not about attending church at all. As many of these places are full of dead people. I didn't have life until I found Jesus, or until he drew me by his Spirit.

May Jesus bless you.

my point is, dont go beating your kids around, yeah it will be necessary when it has something to do with their well being (like there life is at stake) or things that have to do with not obeying you...instructions should be given with love, specially those that have to do with God, that way they will learn that God is love and He will will be a delight to your kids

It is not about instructions and rules either, although there are rules set so as to teach respect and order. But it is not rules that help anyone, but a demonstration of the very Life of Jesus Christ.

There is a story about a man whose son kept getting into trouble. He went from bad to worse, and the Dad kept bailing him out. He never told the son what he had to do to bail him out. And the son was really a burden to his dad. One day the child had committed a murder and was found guilty, but he had bail. The dad had to put his house up for sale to bail him out. The son was so ashamed at this. He had so many memories in that house. And his dad with no hesitation gave it up to bail him out. And neither did he open is mouth to condemn the son. It was his son.

It is about the demonstration more than anything. And Christians should KNOW this. And many have known this but do not want to obey. Even in little things, consider if you would see Jesus doing them, and then think again.

May Jesus bless you.

Actually there was a life at stake-yours ....maybe your mom wanted you to be saved from eternal damnation.

Maybe she didn't go about it the right way or maybe it was just a control thing? This brings up a good question - should parents make their children go to church?

My opinion would be that as long my children live with me they will be expected to attend church when at all possible. When they learn to drive, they can pick what church they want to attend. Hopefully, by that time they will have good judgment :)

i don't care if my kids attend church as much as if they pray and talk to God every day and follow His ways.

True, attending a Church doesn't make a person a Christian. Yet, good bible teaching and interacting with other Christians is very helpful, usually.

Ephesians 2:8-10:

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Nothing you do will make your children go to hell, however I do agree that Christians parents have the responsibility to bring up their children in a Godly manner and not encourage immorality. I would further add that you don't start out a post by breathing fire; tends to throw people off. You might want to preface it next time with an introductory paragraph talking about how there is a lot of immorality aimed at children these days, and then elaborate on what those things are, and then what scripture has to say about those elements.
