I never said what you said I’m suggesting. I said, “If running into programs you find stuff you don’t want to watch… You don’t have to watch it.” Meaning, watch something you know is wholesome. Apparently watching a show can be a type of “Russian roulette” as you don’t know what will be in a program.
But isn't that why they created TV ratings? So that you don't have to watch it to find out? TV ratings already exist by the way. So by way of your thinking, people have no right to try new things if they are at risk of being offended. And they have no right to have any sort of warning system in place. Like a rating system.
That would be a great idea though, wouldn't it? Well, i know you don't think so. It's not like
The TV Parental Guidelines already exists or anything.
And, actually, you did say what i am suggesting, you said nothing of 'russian roulette'. To quote you...
That's like me complaining that every time I put my hand in the fire, I get burned. I probably shouldn't be sticking my hand in the fire then... or at the very least, I shouldn't complain about it when/if I do.
What about sticking your hand in a fire is a form of russian roulette? If you stick your hand in fire, you will get burned. Every single time. No questions asked. 100% of the time. No chances it won't.
Sticking your hand in fire is a guaranteed result. Russian roulette gives you a chance. In fact it gives you more chances to 'win' than to 'lose'. So i'm afraid you Did actually make things very black and white with your 'fire' example, and there is no sign, whatsoever, of suggesting that there is a chance for anything else, such as in russian roulette.
Of course this was, basically, all said in the lines below where you just so happened to not highlight.
