"You don't believe the right version that we do, so go to hell!" How very christian like of you...
I guess many protestants will be surprised when they stand before God that being presbyterian,baptist..etc never could save you..what you do with Jesus or do not do is what saves you..

Hi. I'm a Catholic Christian. Have been all my life (excluding the brief period of time when I was an adolescent atheist). I am 26 now. I have a bachelors of theology and am 1 semester away from my Masters degree in theology. So I can authoritatively tell you exactly what the Catholic church teaches and believes...not what your pastor told you, not what your mother told you, not what some tv show told you, not what you neighbor down the road who says he's Catholic thinks his church teaches.

This thread is too full of bigotry for me to sit by and read and reply to every instance of misinformation or misunderstanding. I would be happy to answer any questions anyone has, preferably in a PM. As a full time student with several part time jobs, I don't have time to keep up with a thread like this and give it the attention it deserves.

Again, feel free to PM me as I do not have the time to continuously check this thread and reply to it. A lack of my replying to this thread is not indicative of having nothing to say, it is merely indicative of my super busy life.

I also frequent the Lounge in the chatrooms, so come hang out in there and maybe I will be there too.

That being said, I hope everyone reading this finds the blessings and peace of Our Lord Christ Jesus as I recognize all men and women as Children of God, and all Christians as brothers and sisters in the body of our Savior.

I think we have to be really careful here. I don't agree with the Catholic doctrine, but to say that all Catholics are lost is wrong. God knows the heart, not us. Maybe he wants them there for a reason. There have been numerous examples of catholic's throughout history who have given all for Jesus Christ. Some withstood terrible tortures because of it. I like that Jesus said 'you shall know them by their fruits'. In that same breath, there have been those whom God called out of that "church". But being Catholic doesn't make you a heathen, anymore then it makes you a christian.
To say that Catholicism is not part of Christianity is false and, therefore, I agree with this post. To say that all Catholics are lost is definitely wrong. Sure, the Catholic doctrine is set in traditions, but they believe in the risen Christ. I think certain Christians take salvation and make it complicated. Salvation is a free gift to all who accept Christ as their savior. John 3:16 states "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." This verse sums up salvation and how it works. Yes, repentance is required, but that follows accepting Christ as their savior. There are many Catholics who have done this very act, accepting Christ as their savior, believing in him for their salvation. To say they aren't saved is not for anyone to say but God, for he alone knows the hearts of every person past, present, and future.

I am a Catholic Christian. The catholic church is the one true church, the only one that Christ started. If anyone would like to lovingly discuss this with me please feel free to contract me at [email protected]

Actually, this may be what you have been told. It most certainly is incongruous with truth though.

I wonder sometimes how many of us actually check in with ourselves before we post. What attitude do we have in our heart driving to post. Are we just zealous and need to make sure "truth" is made clear. If so, the Pharisees were zealous "truth" spouters and Jesus has more issues with them than anyone else. Truth should not be a blunt object used to bash someone over the head. And guess what, YOU cannot make truth clear to anyone. You may speak it humbly but only the HS can reveal it. I've been judgemental with my desire to speak truth just as we all have. How many of us actually pay attention to what we write from a heart perspective rather than a logical perspective. There is NO truth without love. And if your spewing truth from a purely logical perspective leaving you heart outside somewhere, you are not speaking in love. You are judging.
People, what is the difference between arguing and debating. It seems a lot of people want to justify their sin of judgement by saying "oh it's just a friendly debate". First of all, when you are typing, there is rarely ever a friendly debate. Interpretation is more so Based on body posture, tone of voice, and facial expression none of which accompanying your post. In posting you have to take the utmost of care to be sensitive. Use your heart, not just your head. And learn when to stop. You see the Pharisees didnt know when to stop. They accused (yes that is what many posts look like) on regular days, high holy days, Sabbath, morning, night, in strangers homes, in the temple, in fields... They just wouldn't stop.

And btw, denominations are NOT created by Satan.

It is a shame that people will concentrate on defining doctrinal must-haves and exclude the one who eats vegetables for the Lord.

For this reason Christ died for all the sins of men so that none could boast righteousness above another.

Only love.

Catholics, protestants, hindus, greeks, even Piers Morgan.

All will come face to face with the mirror of truth.

In death, there will be life.

There is purpose for everything. Nothing is without purpose. For God does not design or create without purpose. His Way is of COMPLETE purpose.

Love is the last hurdle. He is the Beginning and End and the purpose of all in between.

Every eye shall focus. Just some before others.

It is not man's to credit himself with, or to judge against.

For my face is UNIQUE in a mirror. Known fully only to God.
