Wow! I wasn't responding to the OP in the thread as I already did four pages ago, I was responding to your statement. We all sin no matter if we try to or not. You have said you aren't perfect so I am sure everyone would appreciate a little humility and know we all fall short.
We fall short, but we have to stop sinning intentionally. Do you agree with that?

I'm married and my husband works away from home weeks at a time. So lately I have been watching porn to satisfy my sexual desires. I know that it's wrong but it's so hard to give up.I feel at times that it's better to watch porn that physically cheat on him with someone else. I'm so ashamed to talk to anyone else about it. Has anyone else had a problem with watching porn?
Why watch porn if you can either spend your time at CC mostly or can talk to you husband via camera of your smartphone?

You know you don't need to watch porn to resist cheating your husband.

It is enough that you always keep in mind that adulterers will go to hell someday.

Watching porn is not the end of the world! We are what we are, human beings! This being said we all know that there is nothing good in porn. The problem is not with you but with those governments who do nothing to stop porn at the click of your mouse. They have the tools to do it but they don't because Christ is nothing to them.

What is the thread about? I'm not going to lie and say it's ok. MrsDetermined, I think you need to talk to your husband and ask him to get a job in town. If he can't then you will have to discipline yourself. God can't except it. He just can't.
You can ask for forgiveness, but if you are intentionally doing it, you can't fool him.
Ummmmmm I’m confused. What does my husband’s job have to do with this? I’ve must have missed something.

But on my thoughts of asking for forgiveness and fooling God is this...

Hebrews 10:14–18 says, “For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: ‘This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.’ Then he adds: ‘Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.’ And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.”

Jesus made a one-time sacrifice that completely removes our sin. In Christ, we are justified (declared righteous) before God. Romans 8:1 tells us there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Romans 8:31–39 is a beautiful discourse on our security in Christ. Sin has no say in our standing with God. We are fully accepted and declared righteous in Him. God does not remember our sins in the way He treats us. Instead, He treats us as righteous.

I know you know better than that.
John 8: 10-11 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11"No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."
You can't keep intentionally sinning.
As for your husband. You said he is out of town for periods of time. If he is in town and you are doing this that is terrible. If you can't stop, there is a demon behind it. Using you for it's pleasure. And keeping you away from God at the same time. If the demons can keep us in intentional sin, they have done their job.

well yes our sins are forgiven in Christ

but if we continue in sin, and say we walk in the light, then the truth is not in us

5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. I John 1

when a person makes light of sin, and I am not saying you are doing that but some here are doing that, they may very well be illustrating what the Apostle John is saying regarding continuing in sin

we cannot confess Christ and then continue to sin deliberately . this is not an option

I disagree. I’m serious about Jesus but I don’t fear God. God is love so what is there to fear and my God’s hands could NEVER be tied. He literally raises the dead and makes the blind see. If sin gets us into Hell WE ARE ALL GOING!

The only one that could cast stones has nailed all our sins to the cross so if she has accepted Christ her sins won’t get her kicked out the club right? Or do I have Grace all wrong. (Not really asking)

this god does not exist

basically, thumbing your nose at God and saying you do not fear Him is a very bad misunderstanding of how He describes Himself and what the Bible says about Him

you can disagree, but then you are not in AGREEMENT with the Bible

what is the fear of God?

Question: "What does it mean to have the fear of God?"

Answer: For the unbeliever, the fear of God is the fear of the judgment of God and eternal death, which is eternal separation from God (Luke 12:5; Hebrews 10:31). For the believer, the fear of God is something much different. The believer's fear is reverence of God.

Hebrews 12:28-29 is a good description of this: “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ’God is a consuming fire.’” This reverence and awe is exactly what the fear of God means for Christians. This is the motivating factor for us to surrender to the Creator of the Universe.

Proverbs 1:7 declares, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knoUntil we understand who God is and develop a reverential fear of Him, we cannot have true wisdom. True wisdom comes only from understanding who God is and that He is holy, just, and righteous.

Deuteronomy 10:12, 20-21 records, “And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LOwledge.” RD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Fear the LORD your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name. He is your praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.”

The fear of God is the basis for our walking in His ways, serving Him, and, yes, loving Him.

I think it's interesting to note that the story in the first part of John chapter 8 is not found in the earliest manuscripts of John. Sometimes it even pops up in Luke. Is it scripture? You decide.

What does that matter.
Well, I think it matters whether is scripture or not. If it's scripture we can take it to heart, try to find God's ways in it. If it's a nice story that someone put into their Bible that got recopied, kind of like the footprints in the sand story, then that's nice but it doesn't usually carry the same weight as scripture.

Well it was something that happened, Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin no more.

Possibly it happened, possibly it didn't. That's why I said above, you decide.

Do you believe the rest of the bible or just certain parts?
I believe in the entire Bible, definitely!

Meaning the Bible as it was originally written, inspired by God. the original manuscripts that the apostles and Prophets put down.

But it's kind of like this. do you like to write in your Bible? Or maybe put a meaningful poem or piece of a church bulletin in your Bible? so did the early Christians!

Everything back then was hand-written. so if a person came along and wanted to make a copy of a Bible that another person had, they might get confused and think that a story they had written in the margin was part of the scripture.

So additions sometimes creep in.

Another example is the ending that most people put on the Lord's Prayer. you know, the part that goes for thine is the kingdom, and the power,...
that almost certainly wasn't part of the original book that we call Matthew.

but you can see why people want to keep it. it's beautiful, and it feels like a rounds out the prayer...

How do you know what they did then, did you read that some where?

yes, when I was first learning Greek, the Edition I was using had in the margins all the thousands of variant readings and which manuscripts they were found in. the vast majority of those are not significant. but there's two main sections, the first part of John chapter 8 and the longer ending of Mark, that are significant. but most of them are just a phrase here or there, or in a few cases a verse, I think.

The fascinating thing to me is that with all of the thousands of manuscripts and fragments left from the first few hundred years after the apostles, The Scholar detectives can arrive at a version of the New Testament that we can have a great deal of confidence in, for the most part.

This whole situation can be troubling to people who want an absolute Bible. sometimes in those cases they will simply decide that the King James version is inspired by God.

Yes I do believe that the king James was inspired by God. The farther away we get from where it first began, the more distorted it gets. There are so many lies and things that are hidden. The God of this world have deceived us really bad. It's time to wake up. We have got to find out the reason that we are really here. Stop being deceived.

Ok, you have many answers here. But i will tell you what i think. Hopefully it will help some. I have read the Bible daily for many years, and to this day I suck at remembering the verse numbers. I can tell you what it says in most situations. As for the porn issue. JESUS tells us that those who lust with their eyes are guilty of adultery (in so many words). I can look it up for you if you need. I do understand about your husband being away for work. Many people are in the same situation. Sex is guilty pleasure to most now a days. I'm In the past it was for procreation only. But this id 2018. Everything we do is for pleasure, or to advance laziness. I do believe that porn is a tool used by evil to work into your mind. Someone gave you the advice to pick up a bible when you get the urge. That is great advice. I carry one in my lunch box, in my truck, on my motorcycle, and by my bed. Just for that purpose. I am still a sinner, and probably always will be unfortunately. I still have anger issues. Not towards innocent people, but towards bullies asses. I have a very low tolerance for them. So when i feel myself leaning towards where I shouldn't go, I pick up that book. Everyone can tell you what you should do, and what will happen if you do it. But only you can stop your habits. I do wish you luck...

I see. If you believe that the King James Bible is inspired by God, then that would explain our differences right there I think.

I'm not sure what you mean about "The farther away we get from where it first began..." are you saying it all began with the King James Bible?
