It was on prayer.
Daniel prayed 3 times a day, an example.

I had a fantastic Sunday morning. Church, them breakfast out with family, then a nice nap! LOL.

Service was on Matthew 9 :20-22 Jesus heals the women when she simply touches his robe, because her faith was so BIG!

What I appreciate about our Pastor is always gives such great historical, political, and cultural meaning to the passages. As with much in the Bible, a story is like a onion, you can keep peeling it back to learn more.

Hope everyone else has a great Sunday and a Blessed week!

Yesterday (Sunday) the sermon was about Daniel chapter 3. In the same way that God protected Daniel's friends from the fire, He will protect us from all evil powers if we just have faith in Jesus Christ and remain loyal to Him.

A number of issues were addressed, but the main scripture was psalms 101.

Some of the points were:

Right things done in the wrong way does not please God.

Christians must not only be good in church, but at home and in the workplace too.

We must be careful who we associate with or have as friends because they will lead us astray.

Instead of coming to church pretending to be perfect, we should come with the realization that we are in need of a saviour.

Some super mega advanced Christians may frown on sermons like this one, but they are necessary. Some brothers and sisters go deep in Bible study and then stumble when it comes to simple things like those above.

There are certain topics that I've heard preached in other churches that i don't recall being mentioned in the church I attend.

Like the seventh day Adventist will give sermons on the Antichrist, the prophecy of Daniel and revelation. Things like that.

So i listen to other pastors as well to learn more.

Sermon yesterday (Sunday) was about Luke 13:10 (the Curved Woman). Many Christians today are spiritually curved, but Jesus is alive and is here among us now to straighten those who have faith in Him.

Last sunday it was about overcoming evil with good.

Example given is road rage, a common problem in my city.

I wonder what would happen if we just banned all cars for one whole day.

ROM 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

We should not be ashamed of the gospel. We need to share it with others, and put greater effort into building the kingdom of God.

We should not be like some who are even ashamed to be seen with their bibles. The ones who spend lots of time commenting on worldly topics on social media, yet ignore Christian content.

I didn't go, but I was reading 2 Samuel. The part that stood out today was when David looked at Bathsheba, and then murdered her husband. What I took from this was that David took his eyes off of God, and turned them to Bathsheba.

And had he been where he should have been, that is on the battlefield, (2 Sam 11:1 In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army... But David remained in Jerusalem) then he would not have been walking on the roof and looked down to see Bathsheba taking bath.

But then, had Bathsheba had a proper bathroom, she would not have been exposed?

Seriously though. It was just a matter of lust.

The sermon was all about faith.

If you have faith in God then you will show it in your actions.

Works are a sign of your faith.

Luke 6:46 "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?

In life you have troubles, but when you have faith you can still rejoice, as you look to the blessings that are to come.

I worked today, but I read some of 2 Kings this morning. What I got from the first chapter was about Ahaziah, the son of Ahab, who was hurt from a fall, and sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub as to whether he would recover. God sent Elijah, to let him know he wouldn't recover, but would die in his bed. What this brought to mind is how many turn to science, youtube videos, or the vain traditions of some man-rather than God and His word.
