he's mentioned a number of times in the reggae thread :)
many blessings on San!

have you heard the songs he did with Da' T.R.U.T.H.?

They mentioned it in the wrong thread then. Papa San is jamaican, NOT reggae. Reggae is americanized jamaican. Kinda like the food at the "mexican" and "chinese" restaurants here is not anything like what normal people eat in Mexico and China.

his early stuff i feel safe calling "dancehall" (btw - 'step on di enemy' is an old favorite of mine too!)
he's had such a long career and blended so many elements of hip-hop and other genres into his music, no doubt any single "genre" doesn't totally describe him.

this is more recent, i think, and more hip-hoppy:

I can. Lecrae was good but has turned rather boring. Far as rap skills there are a number of Christian rappers that are better. Lecrae is popular because he has a natural appeal, a charisma that most celebrities have. This often outshines people with less charisma and more talent.

I'm not a big fan of Lecrae. I agree with Ugly that there are many more rappers with much more talent who don't get the recognition they really deserve.

*Lynx raises a paw.

I'm really hoping you meant to spell "rapper" because Lecrae has never even been accused of that other thing. But I can deny that he's the best christian rapper. I've heard his stuff and it has not made it into my music collection. Even MOC is better.
