So called "Christian Rap" is just another man made method of marketing the name of Jesus and Christianity to make money. God is Holy. Christianity is of God, Rap is of the world.

I don't think anyone can deny that Lecrae is like the best Christian raper
Lee,
Is he the best Christian or the best rapper? How can a Christian be better than another Christian?

yes, the content of the lyrics is what separates this from the worldly music of the same genre.

there is, also, scriptural support for making music that is of high quality, not just that the lyrics present and/or agree with the gospel:

Sing unto him a new song;
play skilfully with a loud noise.

(Psalm 33:3)

for me personally, i never liked this style of music at all until some Christians i met online made me listen to some. i always said, i would like rap if there were no lyrics -- now the lyrics are the part that i really like best, that moves me, but i also appreciate the artistry of the 'beat' too.
Posthuman,
Try reading about HIS holiness in all the Bible books before Psalm 33. HIS holiness is distinct from what is common. Perhaps you will not be so quick to use one word in one verse so loosely when you get done learning about HIM and HIS character.

IB,
Are you kidding? If it is Christian, it can't be lower than secular stuff. What are you talking about?

If you don't like the music feel free to not open the thread. Troll elsewhere pharisee.
It's really a sad telling that you have 18 posts so far and half of them are you repeating the same mindless crap to each individual person.
And i'm guessing you didn't even click the link and read the entire testimony.
It's good when a new person shows up on the site that they immediately show they have nothing of value to add. Perhaps stick to the bible discussion forums, you clearly will fit in with those people.

Hypocrite much? You just sat and ranted about how it's all just a money making scheme, now suddenly you're defending it's validity? Just yet another evidence you have no real thought or substance, just baseless accusations against something you have a personal dislike for and nothing more.

I love how you are so quick to judge someone and what they have and haven't done because they use one scripture. So is it safe to assume if you post a scripture that means you haven't read any part of the bible before that scripture? I have no doubt you would not take kindly to that sort of ignorance being applied to you, so perhaps you shouldn't voice such ignorance towards others.
You keep piling on the evidences against yourself and your ideas on the matter. Each time you open your mouth you further discredit yourself by your own words. Keep talking, please, and show everyone you are all noise and no substance.

Through common sense. Just because you do something and add the word Christian in front of it doesn't suddenly make you good. If i tried to become a Christian rapper, there would be a Lot of Christian rappers that would be better than me. This is just psuedo-spiritual gibberish you're spewing in a vain effort to support an idea you have no foundation on. Double speak used to back your personal opinions up and nothing more. And more support for the evidence you are speaking more out of opinion based on a distaste for the music as opposed to having any solid ground to stand on.

You have no respect for the truth. Christian is not defined by you. It is a Biblical word. You money changer.

Think. First, your common sense is the problem. Think. Do you know the meaning of the word Christian. You misuse the word Christian. Of course you do. Sick of people using God, the Bible, and the name of Jesus for selfish gain.
