Another one from Ya Boy Shadow. This guy has some passion and real feeling in his lyrics on every track. Definitely not afraid to say he is born again :)

loving the Dead Can Dance sample - that angelic singing (pitch-shifted) is from "The Host of Seraphim" ;)

I went through this 'worldly" label when I was involved with "CHRISTIAN ROCK". My dad, a minister, was totally against any rock 'n roll sounding music that claimed to be CHRISTIAN. The lyrics were clean, biblically based, to the point, was updated for that day and era. YEs, there were screaming guitars, loud drums, synthesizers, swaying beat that made your body move. THIS was completely different than what was in our hymn books, published before WWII. In the last 10 yrs or so, I've seen how 'rap' has also penetrated the gospel world. GOD saves souls, from all backgrounds, races, cultures, etc. and they still have their natural human qualities of creativity that includes music. Music is GOD created. I wonder if other countries have issues with gospel labels as much as Americans? Is there such a thing as 'Islamic Rock", "Buddist Rap", "New Age bluegrass? or "Atheist Country" ? lol

That's... a very good question. What DO they do for modern music? (Well, New Age has their own trance music, mostly pads with heavy reverb...) What does a teenage islamist listen to?

adhan - calls to prayer. most of Islam is pharisetically opposed to music being used for worship in any form, if i understand right. it's a very works-based, legalistic religion.

and yes, there is most definately "atheist country music" lol. just turn on your radio, you'll hear it :p

Yeah, and I can see a Buddhist listening to anything beautiful, from Debussy to Vivaldi to Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

So called "Christian Rap" is just another man made method of marketing the name of Jesus and Christianity to make money. God is Holy. Christianity is of God, Rap is of the world.
Amen brother. Why in the world would Christians want to be anything like the world? This kind of music is get praises of men and not praises of God. God never compromised His Word to get His point across. There is a huge gulf between the character of Christ and the character of the world..neither one reflects the other. We are doing ourselves a disservice to God's Word and to ourselves in trying to reshape it to draw people to Christ. He simply said, "If He be lifted up, He will draw all men unto Himself.".He will draw..not we will draw but we got to lift Him up as He says we are to do it..and not who we think it should be done. God says, there is a WAY that APPEARS RIGHT to us but the END thereof ARE the WAYS of DEATH.

I would add this thread is about sharing christian rap that we like not casting judgement whether this type of music is good or bad.
