I am a big fan of Twenty One Pilots, and even though they are technically not a "Christian band", the lyrics are very powerful and based on faith. Their music seems like real life, not all happy verses. It talks about struggles with Christianity, and it's really thought-provoking.

I'm sorry but you just can't beat the old hymns. They were not written to make money nor for fame but just to praise God and edify the church.

Being homeless back in the day, living at a shelter, that was a splendid reminder that God wouldn't forsake us even when it would seem that everyone else had - those hymns we'd sing. Out of tune voices and instruments, it didn't matter. It was beautiful.

Obviously, i'm a big fan of finding God in various secular music or semi-secular music (like megadeth or evanescence), a lot of those things are in how we see the content.

Fact remains, good old-fashioned worship is very uplifting.
