Is it just me, or could you totally see this song with a fitting video and getting big on MTV (back in the day, not now)? The lyrics, the music, haha... its almost humorous that if this song had been made by a secular band it could've been big.

Anyone remember this?

And if so, do any of you have a copy? How about the first Fleming & John album?

This was, in my opinion, the best album P86 ever did. This is also one of my favorite tracks on it, along with Steins Theme. After Rival Factions they kind of got back to their original sound, but after ...And the Rest Will Follow it just started sounding slightly bland. Drawing Black Lines was definitely a cornerstone in christian hard rock, and should go down as a classic.
I have a weak spot for Truthless Heroes though too.

And songs to burn your bridges by because it has the spy hunter on it. Again, I'm going to go to a weird place here, but I think and the rest will follow almost had a lounge music influence to it. I liked it, but Rival Factions... ugh.

This just brings a smile to my face. Lyrics, love the lyrics.

The sky grows dark again,
As day turns to night
Rain clouds are gathering our judgement closing in

Pray from a new dawn
To greet us all.
Heaven and earth a new kingdom to come

We've danced with the devil, oh for so long.
It has enslaved us all, I can't believe it,

I will fear no evil
I will find the kingdom
I will fight this dark world until the day I die
I will fear no evil
I will change the future
I will roam these dark lands until I find the kingdom

The words are spoken leaving us with fear
The days are truly darker but, I still, so bright to the world

Walk away from this world
And all it's promises,
Heaven above and our earth, is about to dissolve,

We've danced with the devil,
Oh, for so long,
It has enslaved us all,
Oh, for so long,

I will fear no evil
I will find the kingdom
I will fight this dark world until the day I die
I will fear no evil
I will change the future
I will roam these dark lands until I find the kingdom

I'm so tired of this dance,
My goal will always be the same
Never surrender to this world,

I will fear no evil
I will find the kingdom
I will fight this dark world

I will fear no evil
I will find the kingdom
I will fight this dark world until the day I die

I will fear no evil
I will change the future,
I will roam these dark lands until I find the kingdom

I will fear no evil
I will find the kingdom
I will fight this dark world until the day I die

I will fear no evil
I will change the future,
I will roam these dark lands until I find the kingdom

I wish I could get Defyance's stuff for a reasonable price. 40 dollar used out of print discs are no fun.

Also, that one isn't metalcore either :p

this isn't metalcore either. it's not even old school (well, to be fair it is about Moses & the burning bush, does that count?)
i just think it's wonderful, and it rocks

lyrics:

He saw it burn but not away. He saw no ash but felt the heat on his face.
If there was ever any hope that we could stand on our own, it was crushed by what he saw on that mountain....

The glory of the latter house is much greater than the former one, and it was never in the structure but the Builder himself, and nothing will remain forever if it's not made new again...

I remember that not every rain stops falling down when the earth is nourished.
I can see now that not every flame is kept steady burning till the wood is ash....

I'm not gonna make it if You don't remake me. No, I won't ever make it unless You remake me.

I'll carry Grace like a flame. Only You could refine. Perfect! Perfect!
Find in me the things to stay. Burn us bright but not away... bright but not away.

I'll carry Grace like a flame. Only You could refine. Perfect! Perfect!
Strip away all that remains. Burn us bright but not away... bright but not away.

Heck yeah it counts!

It all does, but metalcore offends the sensibilities of some people apparently. So... it's about to get offensive up in here!

For those of you who remember P K Mitchell here's some samples of his new release featuring Robyn Kyle Basuari who did vocals on Die Happy

Saint is re-recording Warriors of the Son. Though with the loss of Josh Kramer on vocals who knows how it will sound.

Here is a video of some new Saint i suppose, with new vocalist. He's not bad, but he's not Josh Kramer, and it doesn't even sound like Saint anymore, musically even.

Has that look of something that went wrong so they had to improvise. Like, someone forgot to load the drums.. or the cymbals.. or the gear wasn't working, or who knows. Roberts ego is too big to have done this on purpose.

I know you said Metal/Industrial (and that I've posted several time already), but including the genres of hardcore and metalcore...I still can't post a favorite band or album *as I'm still not a 'favorites' guy*, but I really like melodic mixes of singing and screaming with passionate/intensity building dynamics and "breakdowns". What am I talking about? Here's an example:

Nice. Very very nice.

It seems a lot of acts are getting back together to release new material. New Living Sacrifice next month too, as you already mentioned. If there was some new Nodes of Ranvier I would be a content man. I know, metalcore but, Defined by Struggle was so awesome.

Does anyone remember Josh Brown from Day of Fire (and previously Full Devil Jacket). FDJ wasn't a Christian band, but when they released their last disc, Brown had just come to Christ and gotten over drug addiction.

Full Devil Jacket has a new EP on the horizon next year. It will be interesting to see what the lyrics are like. I'm hoping the Christian influence will bleed through as that would be... awesome!

I'm finding myself nodding my head slowly. Not the heaviest thing out there, but this artist is just...

They have it right. I posted Kingrom in the singles section because it's been stuck in my head. This track is also an awesome one off of the same disc.

Lies, they´re wherever I may go
What is a lie? What´s the truth? How will I know?
Fear, Is the result that I see, of peoples greed
Bringing this world to misery

In times when I can´t see what´s wrong or what´s right
You help me see things clearly, you´re my eyes, you´re the light

Wouldn´t know where to turn
Wouldn´t know what to do
Don´t wanna live, without you
Wouldn´t know what to say
Wouldn´t find my way
Wouldn´t make it through without you
Without you

Earth, Will it ever stop to bleed
A world in misery, caused by humans greed
Wars, are raging everywhere
But do we care, as long as we´re not there

When I feel insecure, no help seems to be found
You take me by my hand, put my feet on solid ground

Wouldn´t know where to turn
Wouldn´t know what to do
Don´t wanna live, without you
Wouldn´t know what to say
Wouldn´t find my way
Wouldn´t make it through without you
Without you

I close my eyes, thinking of you
And I see us two together
In a time when my life is through
It´s a time, in a land of forever

Sometimes I feel alone, and no one seems to care
But you are by my side, and you will always be there

I remember Day of Fire. Was a little dull for me.
And i believe i posted Harmony the other day. Though i haven't listened to them much as most of that style sounds redundant to me. Usually it's the vocals that lose my interest.
